Ok, here's our opportunity to pick up our potential top defender. Sign this guy and just cut your losses with another defender.
-
Basically if we're out of the playoffs, one of the goalies has to be moved, one of Nyquist/Tatar, Mike Green, and I'd still try my hardest to deal E. Wouldn't it be great to get a 1st for Green, a 1st for Tatar/Nyquist and a 1st for a Goalie? BTW, I highly doubt Coreau clears waivers this year, although with only 22 players on the roster after AA is signed, maybe they'll carry 3 goalies for a bit. IF they can get some cap relief.
-
Off season moves? I'm still waiting and hoping for an impactful move. Everyday I hope to see a trade pop up. I am not happy with this team at the moment. Too much salary, not enough talent. AA still not signed, still not enough cap to give him what he's earned or bring up a 13th forward. Everyone in the organization is insisting that Kronwall will NOT be on LTIR. Neither will Ericsson and Sproul is now skating. I understanf your guys argument for keeping our players and not shedding cap, but I just feel that we'd be better off without a few overpaid guys and bring up some yoots. But who am I kidding, Holland left Ericsson, Kronwall, Helm, Glenny, Mrazek, Sheahan unprotected and Vegas took Tomas flippin Nosek. I guess I cannot expect a trade when we cannot even give a player away...We're doomed this season, lets hope there's a silver lining in a #1 pick overall and a firesale at the Deadline for more picks....maybe a couple extra 1st's.

Holland didn't fire Blashill, I'm thinking, because Kenny only has thus year left. Why fire Blashill and search for a new coaching staff just to have the new GM next year have to search for his own coaching staff. If it is indeed blashs last year, then If we miss the playoffs, both GM and coaching staff will move on.

Does the rest of the team play like their payroll?
-
I'd do this in a heartbeat. But not sure Winnipeg would
-
apparently @detroitredwings dont like when you tell them Holland is a retard needs to be fired. They report you to Twitter. Too funny!
-
70-90 points given top minutes.
-
He will be one of our future stars. I find it funny that folks think he's not. It's not like Pulk, he's proven he can score in the NHL. Given top 6 minutes he will score more. If he is involved in a trade, it'll be a trade we'll eventually lose.

Tatar, Athanasiou, and XO's new deals

Holland is not that smart. No. If Holland trades AA it'll be for a 35 year old defenseman. Holland can't make a move to save his life, if he does, he f***s it all up. AA should already be as untouchable as Mantha. -
f*** you Holland. This is a perfect example of why he has no clue. The NHL has passed him up. He is horrible at everything. Keep thinking he'll make this cap situation work. He'll either insult AA with a $900K offer or he'll pay him $2M and waive players in hopes they sneak through. This guy is dumber than Homer Simpson. I was right not to trust him with a top 10 pick, I'll never trust him with a #1. He can't make a trade to save his life, so don't hold your breath that he'll even attempt to acquire a top defender. He still believes that E coming back is our fix on D. E should've been gone 2 years ago, Helm should've NEVER been re-signed, Abby shouldn't be above $2.5M, Glenny is a $800K player...ugh, this just pisses me off that he hasn't been fired.

Ya, Kenny has some rounds of golf to play.

According to Custance, Detroit not going to use buyout option. Also says nothing imminent in the AA negotiations. But hey, we got Helm.

A top 2 defenseman comes right to the NHL, he doesn't spend any time in the A. We need to trade for one or draft him in the top 5. I am very reluctant to trade AA. So I'm not sure how we'll get it done. But you don't develop a top defenseman, you develop 2-7. -
Tatar Re-Signs 4 Years $21.2M ($5.3M AAV)

I do like that there's no NTC/NMC. He can still be flipped at a deadline. -

You don't trade AA. He is the most dynamic player on this team since Pav. You don't trade him, Larkin or Mantha. Not for Trouba. The only way we get Trouba is if Winnipeg has a glaring need for a goalie or an established 25-30 goal scorer. If they're asking for one of those three, I'm not getting Trouba. -
There is always a buyout period for teams, but there's the 2nd if a player elects arbitration. Larkin and Mantha are not arbitration eligible, but Sheahan, Sproul and Mrazek are. I'm sure with three players eligible, we'll get the 2nd buyout period.

I don't need $11M, I just need $2M from Abby, $1.5M from Helm and $1M from Glenny. That'll let me have breathing room for AA and that 13th forward and injury call-ups when necessary. I'd alos like to shed $4.25M from Ericsson, but ya, right. -

Well the difference between us and 15th highest? $11M. Not so marginal and would be tremendously helpful. -

Sorry, Kenny has just made me so bitter with all his past contracts that are really haunting us right now. Theres no reason why we're going to be the highest paid team in the league (again) and 90% chance we miss the playoffs (again.) It's frustrating. If Holland wasn't overpaying junk players, he'd have plenty of cap space left for these issues. For every positive decision he makes, he then makes three idiotic ones. I love the team but can't stand the off ice leadership. Sort of like a lot of Americans today, they love their country, but hate their government and leaders. Like I said, if Helm, Abby and Glenny weren't severely overpaid, we wouldn't be in this situation to have to hope for LTIR in order to keep our best players. -

Honestly, I hate high numbers. 83 looks horrible. There are plenty of low numbers available for these guys. Larkin shoukd be in 17, AA in 18. Dekeyser should be 27. There is 20, 22, 23, 26, 29. 2 is open now. 11 is open. That's plenty of normal numbers available without having to grab obscure crazy ones. Btw, I think when Ras gets here he'll grab Kronners #55.
-
Honestly, Vanek has worn 26 more than any number. He took 62 here because Jurco already had 26. Similar with Hossa, who always wore 18 until he came here and took 81 because Maltby. When Vanek returns, he'll wear 26.

All we have left is $933,333k in cap space to offer AA without going over. Insulting to one of you future star players. Thanks Holland.
