Don't get me wrong, if Liljegren is NHL ready and we draft him, and we ditched Ericsson, it'd be good. If we lose XO, there would a spot to compete for with Russo, etc...

Not ignoring the need, but if we retain XO, that'll make 7 D already here. Just saying that if he's nhl ready, he won't get nhl time here right now...but a forward would. That's all, nothing more.

That's part of the reason id prefer a fwd at #9. Right now we have 10 signed, 12 with AA & Tatar getting re-signed. Minus Franzen back down to 11, that leaves 3 fwd spots to fill, even with Svech and possibly Frk getting a spot, someone like Tippett et al. could make the team before a D could.

I understand the need for a D, but if Liljegren is nhl material, where's he going to play here? Unless we ditch a couple of D, there's no room for him, especially with Knee Cap and Erection taking up roster spots. So if he's drafted, he'll wind up in GR or stay in Sweden until we have an opening, when he should be in the NHL.

I know what Kenny is up to! He loses Mrazek and frees up $4M, he then trades the #9 to Anaheim for Fowler, who was just (hypothetically) extended 8 years. It's all clear now!

Holland isn't savvy enough to get a 1st for Green. He'll get a 3rd in 18 and a 4th in 19 for him. Holland does not win in trades anymore. That is absolutely the truth.

....i was waiting for The Juck ******* Pott. I think we all understand your frustration. I will be angry if we lose any of Mrazek, XO or Sproul. Hopefully they grab Helm or Sheahan of all the guys left. My personal choice was to protect DD, XO & Jensen.

I can't wait. I'm either going to be really happy or really not. Re: Pettersson, I did some reading, I like that he is described as aggressive in both zones. You know my first choice, but Pettersson can be in a handful of kids that would be ok if Tippett is gone.

Ya, we'll lose XO and get ZERO cap relief. ...actually the point speaks quite loudly. He led our team, but we can't expect him to keep it up. Now that point is moot.

We'll, not the way I wanted it, but we'll free up $4M in cap space. I sure wish we could dump $8M-$10M more from the roster.

Like unsaid, Holland has nothing up his sleeve. Remember last July when he signed a bunch of forwards with what we thought was the intent to move some for a D? Me too...

If the rumors of attitude problems in thge room are true, I understand them leaving Petr open. I am still a big fan and also a Jimmy hater, but you can't have locker room cancer. But don't, for a minute, believe Holland has anything up his sleeve. We have been burned too many times by him.

Honestly the more I think about it, the protected D should be DD, XO & Jensen. So what if we lost Green, Holland isn't savvy enough to get a 1st for him anyhow.

I remember back awhile ago, I think it was St. James that said the D would most likely be Green, DD & Jensen. If we lose XO, we get zero cap relief.
