Keep beating that drum...Just because I don't agree with your wants for the team. Holland is going to draft and sign whomever he wants, if he doesn't grab my favorite, so be it. My only thing is, we've been the same type of team for YEARS and have gotten worse and worse and worse, so why take your first top 10 in forever and waste it on the same type of player? Then go out and sign the same type of undrafted kids out of inferior leagues and 2nd tier inferior leagues if you want to make your team better. We cannot keep playing the same system and style of play and expect to win anytime soon. The league has left us behind, and that is Holland's fault. If he chooses to draft the same type of players this team is full of, then that's on him. Thing is, I am glad you find my insights hilarious, it keeps you coming back and interested. BTW, I didn't mention any player I was talking about, so very nice of you to play into the narrative you are creating in your own little world. I see you skipped the message where I listed some of my favorite players and some of my most hated players. Lest we forget my biggest argument of all time of this forum, not signing Hossa, who, is quite possibly one of my most favorite players of all time. He is right up there with Fedorov and Lidstrom. But, I get it, that doesn't line up with your narrative, so that's cool. Keep on truckin, buddy!

Nope.....Toronto has. THANK GOODNESS!

That would be amazing! We'd really have to lose some cap though to get those guys. I'm in, it would involve trading, let's say, Howard and Nyquist plus more for Trouba. Trading a pick to Vegas so they take Ericsson off our hands, Then still having about $6M+ available to sign Shatty. Also having already re-signed Tatar and AA. Tie that together with drafting Tippett and (somehow) Hague, that would be the perfect off season.
-
I agree, but yet, people are wanting to draft non-impact players and sign ECHL equivalent players because they are from a certain region of another continent. So why not this guy?
-
....and Pittsburgh cheats to win. Uncle Gary ruling strong.

Tippett, trade up to get Hague.... Perfect draft.

I like the options, and I like the protected list, except I'd protect Jensen over ouellet. No biggie though. I seriously hope Holland does some trades with McPhee because it will not help us at all to lose Sheahan or Sproul. We need to lose about $4M to Vegas, then we need to trade about $8M more before the season starts. Ericsson, Howard, Nyquist or Helm. Any three of those four would the best ideally. Regarding Kronwall, I'm willing to bet that he'll inform McPhee that if he is selected, he will retire. I like that he's potentially not protected, but don't see him changing addresses with his deteriorating knees. He'll take 6th/7th duties here or call it a career.

If Holland has to retain salary in a Howard deal, then het got fleeced. Retaining salary doesn't help us at all.
-
Ya, let's trade for another first, draft Liljegren and Brannstrom.... ...wow. that's making our team more suited to win a Cup.
-
The wings were always too old. All of them, not just the hof'ers.
-
It's funny how nowadays players are declining when they reach 30. Wasn't long ago you weren't even a UFA until you were 31. Plenty, PLENTY of quality players were signed for multiple years then. Hell, some players didn't even peak until their 30's. Remember all those "too old" Red Wings that just kept winning and winning? You'll all be surprised and shaking your heads when Bishop in 6 years is still better than what we have and still one of the tops in the league.
-
Kinda like the almost $10M we have tied up in 2 broken down useless defensemen.
-
Sticks up and elbows high when Crosby is near you. Watch your fingers, they have a nasty habit of falling off around him.
-
Not me... Btw, Sens miss playoffs 2 out of the last 3 seasons, now in ECF. Take note Holland...take note.
-
...with Bishop we'd have a better chance of winning the Cup within his 6 years than we do with our current goalies throughout thecs system within t bffge next 6 years. But, alas, none of that matters now. We'll be a lottery team again.
-
Well, I'm hoping our guy turns it around. I'd we have another season of below average goaltending, it may be time to start looking...
-
Hilarious how you guys were like, we don't want him, he wants top dollar, he'll too expensive...now makes less than Howard. Awesome! Nill hit the lottery!
-
If we were fortunate to be on his trade list, I wouldve given LA a 3rd for him, signed him and left both Howard and Mrazek unprotected. So will howard...he'll get worse, and that's almost impossible.
-
Howard.....gone!
-
$4.9M to $5.2M Bishop is better than Howard and will still be better 6 years from now. Nill will ditch the cap problem. He may even dump both his backups. Eaves? 1st round pick...nuff said.
-
Great deal by Nill. And for a 4th rounder...We're starting to see who had the brains in Detroit. A superior goalie than Howard, younger than Howard, smaller cap hit than Howard. Ya, we didn't want any part of that....meanwhile we have Howard. Modern day version of Sammy St. Laurent. ...plus a 1st round pick for Eaves. We got a yippie ki ya 3rd for Vanek. I know it was a conditional pick for Eaves, but so was ours...a 3rd or a 3rd. Yay Holland!
-
That'd be cool. Throw them a 3rd and E for future considerations to get them to take Howard in the draft. I'm in!
-
He will have the starting job in GR. Because Coreau will be in Detroit backing up whichever one isn't traded.
