We can only lose one player...but I wonder if there's any rules against a team making a deal with them allowing them to have 2....hmmmm....
-
Ben bishop and now two 1st round draft picks. Holland's gonna draft Pettersson and Nill will get Tippett and Hague. That'll be my rotten luck...
-
Not quite. I'd prefer the led light show. The options are endless. Red Wings logo, Pistons logo, different bands, events. Fireworks, news years celebrations. Stanley Cup. Just not excited about the Caesar guy up there.

2017 ECSF Washington Caps vs. Pittsburgh Pens
LeftWinger replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
I hate the pens. The caps are to the pens what the blues were to the Wings. -
His quote meant he didn't look at Detroit winning and regret that he could've been there, because he followed it up with that would drive himself nuts and he made a decision and stuck with it. I'm right more than wrong. The only thing irritating is every time I say something you troll it and say how wrong I am, without finding out before you open your mouth. Nothing I say embarrasses me, right or wrong. Also I'm not a bigot. But guess what keep your opinion, because I know better. With Fedorov and Lidstrom as two if my favorite players, I don't see what you see. I like Z, Hedman, Ovechkin. I dislike McDavid, Crosby and Helm along with Franzen, Nyquist, Ericsson and Howard. What exactly am I a bigot towards? You can not answer that if you don't want to, because I'd hate for you to be wrong again. Not once have you corrected me, so get over yourself.

Yes, but my post said what if there was a player they really wanted bad. Plus I wasn't just trading the 9th, I said plus an asset. If Calgary really wanted Liljegren and knew Detroit was interested but knew 100 % #10 wanted him if Detroit passed on him. It's not out of the question to propose such a deal. Just like when Phoenix wanted Chychrun. They gave up their 1st to only moved up 2, plus gave Detroit an extra 2nd rounder AND took Dats salary off of us. Things can happen. It won't ever happen the way a fan proposes it, but it's not like it couldn't.
-
Question is, will either of them be traded in a package for d-man or would they just be salary relief? Things are starting to get exciting.

https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2017/05/snapshots-mironov-sobotka.html Sakic says changes coming. If an option would you trade our 1st for someone on Colorado?
-
Bishop also has a M-NTC plus a NMC. These things don't matter. If a team wants to trade a player bad enough, he'll get traded. I hope that Howard gets traded and gets us a 4th. We reallt need some cap relief. Id like to see about $4M lost in expansion and also trade about $8M.
-
What I will be interested in seeing is if he signs with NSH, will he get nhl time right away or go to the A.
-
Nothing is out of the question. Bold moves happen all the time. More than likely won't, but not that it couldn't.
-
Nowhere am I showing concern about not signing this Swedish guy. Glad he's not coming here. Just commenting on how we used to get everyone and that's how other fans must've felt about us back then.

...and here's the story of how Roenick became a Flyer. He and his wife were in Detroit considering the contract offer. He got a call from Rick Tochhet while in Detroit and was convinced to come to Philly. http://www.espn.com/magazine/vol5no22roenick.html So, next time you need to know something, don't hesitate to ask.
-
http://amarillo.com/stories/063001/spo_roenick.shtml#.WRNSwvcpDqA Roenick agreed to a 5 year contract BEFORE we traded for Hasek. The story came out June 30. We traded for Hasek while burning the midnight oil. I went to bed that night we didn't have Hasek, some up for my 5am workshift and the detnews.com had the trade on their website. It happened so late that they couldn't even print it in the paper because it had already gone to press. So ******* sick of you questioning s*** that I say and saying how wrong I am. Once again, i'm right, So from now on, until you research things that can prove I'm wrong, keep your bulls*** to yourself.

I'd be ok with it. I'd still want Tippett first, but we do need a center as well. If he took Suzuki at 9, wouldnt be angry.
-
I'd just be happy with the cap relief of trading Howard. But I still think Bishop is better than BOTH of our goalies. But oh well, hopefully Mrazek will get back to vezina form.
-
I'd rather go Suzuki if we're going Finesse.
-
I'm hoping he doesn't. There's just so much better available in the top 10 than a Holland-esque pick...but I wouldn't be surprised.
-
I honestly think JR wouldve been good here. Of course we probably don't sign Robitaille then.
-
Wow! So much for us...i guess Holland really loves his inconsistent and constantly hurt tandem. I'm sure LA wouldve rather had a 3rd than a 4th, but....Holland loves his draft picks and mediocre goaltending. ...and before you say he may not have gotten a call, he knew he was available and I'm sure he knew the price. Of course the expansion draft put a kink in it all. Wouldve been nice to have him...guess I'll have to burn my Bishop jersey in had made.
-
Datsyuk is coming out if retirement to play in Vegas...
-
What was Hollands good move? He offered JR the contract, JR could've easily chosen Detroit over Philly. They were the exact same offers. You probably meant thank goodness he chose Philly. Because whether or not we acquired Hasek, Holland wanted JR.
-
Ya, now you're just trolling.
-
Now we know how fans of those teams felt about us for 20 years. Holland just needs to make this teammore attractive to free agents. The new building will help, but he needs to dump these players making too much money so he can actually outbid a team now and then. He needs to dump as much salary as he can to be in on the Bishop sweeps. One big name will draw more interest. I remember a story from Roenick back when he signed with the Flyers. He was absolutely the best ufa available that year and his story was Philly and Detroit offered him the exact same contracts. He chose Philly because he felt they had more of a chance to win...then Detroit traded for Hasek. He said had they traded for Hasek before he agreed to go to Philly, he would've chosen Detroit instead. My point is all Holland has to do is acquire one big name, big game player and that will attract more. Who would a big name ufa rather play in front of, old man Howard an inconsistent unproven Mrazek or Ben Bishop?
-
I can't tellm if you're just trolling me or being serious. Holland is going to do what he feels is best. Most of us won't agree with him, but that won't change anything. Our "feelings" don't matter, but we all have players that we hope are to become the next drafted Red Wings. That's why I am not sure if you're just trolling or seriously want Liljegren and an asset. I really would love if my two guys were to be drafted by us. But looking at your scenario (if serious) it would be very nice if (even if Tippett were there) let's say Calgary wanted him bad, that Holland dealt the #9 for Hamilton and the #15 and then drafted Liljegren if he was there. As much as I want Tippett, I cannot argue that scenario whatsoever.
