Signed Frans Nielson signs 6 year $5.25m AAV contract with Detroit
LeftWinger replied to Jedi's topic in General
I'm betting Ott comes back. Along with one of White or Boyle. We'll lose Abby, NY quest, Helm or Sheahan to Vegas. Not signing miller, we'll have the roster spots. -
Hmmmmm.... If AA were the key....AA, Nyquist, 1st round 2018.
-
Don't back me into a corner like this! But, yes, I'd have to concede AA if it meant getting Eichel....ouch, that hurt.
-
I didn't mean it was happening, but I can see it happening to be the same role player he was last season. They did use him in a ton of important situations. I think he was still our best faceoff guy when he got traded. Honestly, I wouldn't be too upset if he signed here again.
-
Odd to hear actually. I'm sure it's not because of the season, there has to be a personal issue. Anyhow, sure glad Mantha or AA don't take this stance. They both have legit playing reasons to be mad at coach.

Alexander Radulov: Wings on short-list of desired teams
LeftWinger replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
I'm just going to chime in and say no. Every year we toss certain names around, year after year, and every year they get older and older. I don't mind signing a vet or two to shore up the bottom 6, or just the 4th line, but we have our own top 6 caliber players available within the system now. Unless we are making a huge splash on July 1 with the likes of someone like Oshie, I think we should just stick with our guys and shore up the defensive and sandpaper part of our game in the bottom 6. No to Radulov. Please. -
Here are three targets I am betting that Holland will be looking at: I mentioned him in jest earlier, but yes Steve Ott may return to Detroit. I also see Holland looking at two players, one being Ryan White and another be Brian Boyle. I honestly think that with them not going to offer Miller a contract, that Holland will want a bottom 6 guy with tons of experience, plus I am not convinced anyone else in GR are come up full time. Mention Callahan all you want, but IMO, he missed his window of opportunity and will be a career AHL'er unless he signs somewhere else. The Vets that made some games near the end of the season was just reward time. With Holland stating he wants back in the playoffs NOW, I can see him going after someone like Boyle or White to fill the bottom 6 and maybe Ott for be the 13th/14th forward again. With the idea of re-signing Tatar and AA, that makes 11 forwards for next season. I'm thinking we are going to lose a forward in expansion, so signing 2 UFA's come July isn't out of the question. Besides, what if we lose Helm, Abby, Sheahan or Glendening, then Boyle and White fill right in with the departure of Miller for sure...

Top D are expensive, young top D even more, but I am very interested to see how the price is when it comes to those teams that are forced to leave one of those players unprotected. Will the price come down to guarantee a return rather than lose someone for free...

I hear you on the Shatty stuff, but damn, I think folks are seriously over estimating what it'd cost for Trouba. Larkin, Sproul AND a potential top 3 pick in this year's draft? Whew!

2017 WCQF: Nashville Predators vs. Chicago Blackhawks

I happen to like the jerseys. Sure, their mustard one is pretty "loud" but it's simple and not too flashy. -
2017 ECQF: Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
LeftWinger replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
That's just him though, I seem to remember a certain Detroit Piston scoring 22 points in one quarter on a severely sprained ankle. Back hockey, damn I wish the Jackets show up soon. I do not want to see the Whines move on... -

I'm liking this outcome thus far! -
If we don't win the lottery or even a top 3, here are my targets. Lose about $4M in the expansion draft, draft Tippett at #7-#10, draft Hague in the 2nd round, sign Shattenkirk. Trade another $4M- $5M over the summer. I'd like to target Trouba, Fowler and or Hamilton, but just like all you guys are saying, they'll cost way more than I'm comfortable giving up. But we will see what firesales go on leading up to the expansion draft. If we get the #1-#3 I'd like Patrick or Vilardi.

Yah, let's trade this guy....
-
Oh, ya that could factor in....
-
It'd be nice, but it'll be hard to pry him out of Washington. Especially if they go on a deep run. Same goes for Shatty.
-
Just by listening to Holland, I get that feeling he's looking at getting that type veteran backup to be behind Petr. Just a sense I get i guess.

I know there's a song in there somewhere, I just can't put my finger on it...
