Ya, but a lot of mock signings by some good insiders (TSN Guys) had him about $1M give or take.

    2024 Draft

Ok, so here's where I am. I am currently roughly $680k over the cap, with only 22 players. I might have to forego one of Perron or Kane. Unless Kane would do a nice deal again for some term. (note: I traded Husso to Calgary because I am going with them dealing Markstrom away.) Also, I traded Copp back to Winnipeg where he had a lot of success, and could become a leader for them. In the Sharangovich deal, the original one I saw had Veleno going back, but I already traded him, so maybe a nice top prospect would enough to let Yegor go. Here's the signings. Could possibly skip Perron and bring up 2 kids in his place to fill out the roster, or even let Kane walk because with Guentzel, Jeannot and Sharangovich, we may not need his offense. Unless he'd take 3x$3.5M to help us out! Leftover draft picks, including the #12 overall. ...and finally, the roster how it sits. Feel free to pick it apart to see how we could get under the cap and have 23 players with room for injury call ups.

    2024 Draft

I'm currently working in Capfriendly with all these trades to see what is left over in cap. I don't see the need to have Gustavsson and Husso on the team, so I will probably just buy him out or dump him for a 4th or 5th to get more cap space. And I still might try to do the Calgary trade for Sharangovich. I just have to find the article about that proposed deal, I know it involved Maatta.

    2024 Draft

Saw these draft day trade options in an article and I'd have to say, I'd do all of them. Obviously you couldn't trade the 15th twice, but Philly would probably still do this deal with the 18th Detroit got from Chicago. Detroit ends up with Gustavsson, Rossi, Guentzel, Jeanotte, AND the 12th overall pick. (Along with various later picks.) Might could even still afford Kane, Perron and Roy.

Trade Maatta, Veleno, 25 2nd for Sharangovich. (-$1M in cap) Trade Fabbri for a pick (+$4M in cap) Trade Holl and a pick for a pick (+$3.4M) Trade Husso for a pick (+$4.75M) Roughly $38M in cap space: Sign Seider and Raymond for a combined $16M. Sign Kane 3x$5M Sign Perron 2x$2M $15M in cap left Sign Matt Roy ($5M?) Trade a pick for Filip Gustavsson (-$3.75M) All other UFA's walk. Sorry Ghost, we just can't afford you. That leaves $6.75M roughly to dedicate towards Berggren, Edvinsson, Johansson, Mazur, Kasper all being on the roster to fill your team. Dammit I'm gonna miss capfriendly! I hope the alternatives that come out will be better eventually! Oh! I forgot re-signing Fischer to a 2 year modest contract too!

We're losing Capfriendly. Seems Washington wants to have the only access to all the resources the website provides. So they get to be the only team/people that can look at every other teams cap situation and contract status? How fair is that? https://www.davyjoneslockerroom.com/the-caps-bought-capfriendly-so-now-what/

Well, he's trading for Necas so he had to get him a countryman to play with before the trade.

Who does it block? If you get rid of 2 D contracts that leaves plenty of room. Edvinsson and Johansson will be here next season, they aren't being blocked in you sign Ghost for 3 years. Once Maatta falls off the books in a year and Chiarot in 2, there's room for ASP and another. They may not even re-sign Walman when his contract is up. Kane 3x5 makes sense for player development. Healthy he's still a PPG player. Even if he falls off in year 3 to .5 PPG he's still super valuable to the young players. $5M AAV isn't bad either.

How are they making a push? Are they looking to acquire their UFA rights? I honestly can see a scenario where they are both back in Detroit, along with Perron. They just want term. Obviously they aren't gonna sign for minimum, but with term, they AAV can be less. Kane 3x$5M Ghost 3x$4M Perron 2x$2M (with a job with the team after) You get Raymond and Seider signed for 8 yrs each at a combined $15M-$17M. Then you sell off a couple of contracts (or buyout) to be able to bring up a few kids and re-sign Berggren and Veleno. The cap will continue to rise over the next three years, giving you room to re-sign the Kasper’s, Danielson's and Mazur's of the team. Who else to better mentor Berggren than Kane? I feel it's of utmost importance to get him re-signed.
