Done for the year is a bold prediction! But even hurt on IR, there goes any trade value... speaking of IR, capfriendly still shows Howard on LTIR, I guess they had to recall him to put him on LTIR...he's possibly done for the year! GUT CHECK BOYS! GUT CHECK!
-
thats good to hear! Of course I'd like to see AA end up with about 20-25 total.
-
Not Watching, how many minutes are Mantha and AA getting? Are they being used "correctly" or are they riding bottom 6 with no PP?

so here's how we could make the draft a bit more interesting. Each team submits their list of protected players, starting in order from last place to Cup Champ, each team gets to pick ONE player off of the unprotected list. They only get ONE, so like Colorado takes Bishop, then they cannot take anymore, etc and so on...BUT when you select a player, you MUST protect that player from Vegas and expose another one of the same position (FWD/D/G) from your team. You can choose not to draft anyone and just keep your protected players as well. Then after 30 teams have chosen to draft someone or not, THEN Vegas gets to see the new list of exposed players. If a team loses a player in the first draft, they can then look at who is left available and replace their lost player. Yes, a team could theoretically lose two players, but they do get a second chance at drafting a player from one of the 30 teams if they lose a player to one of them. Just something to make it more fun for the fans! Colorado drafts Bishop....must protect Bishop and expose another G...(Tampa now cannot lose another player to another team EXCEPT Vegas in the expansion draft) but now when the draft gets down to Tampa, they get 2 picks, one original and one because COL took Bishop, BUT now they have to protect those 2 and expose 2 others! This could get deep!

Of course Boston won today, now even if we win, we are still 6 points out...no help from anyone!
-
I was thinking, caught in a landeskog... Would have been more apropos playing Colorado, but anyway...carry on Wings!
-
SInce no one else bit, I will.... Is This Just Fantasy?
-
They'll look after the Tigers in the rear view after Gilbert buys them! I don't want to win ONE for Mr. I, win 20-25 more for him! Just Win!
-
I'm sure they will...it'll be very cool to see the tribute to him for next season's Arena opening/home opener. It would be very cool if they did a patch for the entire season...maybe even the rest of this season.

YEs, KLIQ is correct, both Holland and Yzerman have one more year on their contracts.

I guess I am a Holland apologist and hater at once.... I give him credit for trying to get quality UFA's to come here, he tries for the biggest UFA's every year, he just cannot force them to come here. He dug his own grave though with the whole "We're Detroit, take a discount to come here" attitude he had there for a long time. That worked when we were winning, but after a while, players weren't having it. BUT, I do give him credit, he seems to have changed that attitude, he offered a ton for Suter, Niskanen, paid a ton for Green, Nielsen and its no doubt that if he had been given a shot at Stamkos, he would've offered him that max as well. I hate him, because he won't lick his wounds and deal people when they need to because of this loyalty thing, or signs our UFA's to fat contracts because of loyalty and homegrown reasons. I hate that he seems to not want to back up his words with actions about making the bold moves, changing the team makeup, etc...on the same hand, I loved the Vanek and Nielsen additions, plus Ott. So just like 90% of the fans, I am finicky when it comes to Holland, but only because I expect the best choices and moves from the perceived best GM in the NHL.

7 points out of the 3rd spot....I believe a push can be made, maybe we will buy someone...Ben Bishop? We could afford him as a rental...but damn, at what cost? Does Yzerman give us a deal to 1. Get a small return for him, and 2. Be his starting goalie when Stevie takes over The Red Wings. I joke, I joke... PROJECTED LTIR USED : $6,308,408 CURRENT CAP SPACE : $0 (8,304,471 with LTIR relief) DEADLINE CAP SPACE : $0 (8,304,471 with LTIR relief) TODAYS CAP HIT : $78,057,878 ROSTER SIZE: 22/23 CONTRACTS: 46/50

It's funny what you see in pics when you really look at them...look at the guy just over Mike's shoulder and the look on his face...

Eastern W L OL PTS Atlantic MTL 31 17 8 70 OTT 28 18 6 62 TOR 25 17 11 61 BOS 27 23 6 60 FLA 23 20 10 56 TBL 24 24 7 55 BUF 22 22 10 54 DET 22 22 10 54 Metropolitan WSH 38 11 6 82 PIT 34 13 6 74 CBJ 34 14 5 73 NYR 35 18 1 71 PHI 26 22 7 59 NYI 24 18 10 58 NJD 23 21 10 56 CAR 24 21 7 55 This is the latest from hockey-referrence.com. You are right, I see that BOS has 1 point up on PHL for the last wildcard. So ya, 6 points and 8 teams to catch and pass. Thanks! But really, there cannot be a bigger motivator than your owner's death. Not saying that it will propel them into 26 years, but if it doesn't motivate you to push that much harder and longer, even if it hurts, to do it for his legacy and his memory, then I don't what else can motivate them to make it to the playoffs. This should also be Holland's new motivation and he should also be kicking those tires a hell of a lot harder.

Jonathan Ericsson out with fractured wrist, no timetable for return.

No really, I just made up the #19 in honor of yzerman....lol! I guess I should've posted the info from capfriendly.com, but I just thought most of us delved into that site pretty deep. Next time I'll post my sources! -
I like how people react when it doesn't fit in to their agenda. It'd be different if someone said, my neighbor's daughter's boyfriends mailman said Holland to Toronto. SheeSus!

From 1994...The Pizza Dome, eh? Has a very nice ring to it. It's now my official nickname for Little Caesar Arena.
-
Sorry, deleting my attachments, I have run out of room!
-
It's not too late to rename the arena to The Ilitch Centre of Entertainment Arena. The ICE Arena....
-
...For the city of Detroit, State of Michigan and the sport of hockey!
-
Take minute to think of his influence on hockey. It's almost a guarantee that he has touched, in one way or another, a player, coach, gm, scout, etc...from all 30 teams. Local kids who grew up playing for little caesars hockey. Damn he could very well be near the top of the list of most influential people in the sport of hockey RIP Little Caesar....Champion Champion!

The say there will be a private service. Could you imagine the turnout if they had a public wake at The Joe?
-
Words cannot describe... Little rumors floating around Tigers may be sold to Gilbert and focus to remain on Wings...

Capfriendly.com has him back on LTIR. Maybe he just hasn't been activated yet, but it says LTIR under recent injuries. https://www.capfriendly.com/transactions/injuries
