Ya, folks have a habit of never letting you live it down when you're wrong, but they always, and I mean ALWAYS forget when you're right. Then when you try to remind them, they get all mad at you and call you arrogant. I've grown used to it and enjoy it too! I've just learned to always admit it when I'm wrong! I'm glad Jensen is making it thus far! I've always had him as my 7th, so maybe if/when they acquire a #1, he slides back to #7, but as of now I am glad he is pretty much our best guy out there...for now! BUT, if they get rid of E, Smith and Kronwall goes LTIR, he should stay in the top 6....

Philly lost in OT, so we can gain ground on them with 2 points tonight. We'd be 5 points out of the wildcard. I guess they aren't out of it yet. They are going to go balls out to try to extend this streak. If they get another #14, they will probably get a player they like (Foote, Hague maybe.) Heck, they may be able to get one in the 1st and one in the 2nd.

Hmmmmmm, all this sounds mighty familiar... Not that he's worth it, but I honestly see Holland giving up his 1st in the top 5 for Fowler. I want Fowler here, but it should cost less, but I am just going by Holland's history. 1st for Quincey.

Well he's off to a start, he cleared $1.4M today with Marchenko. I have a feeling if they win tonight, and get within 5 points of a spot, they will stand pat. You're right, he's gone and E is here. He wasn't waiving E, because if nobody claimed him, we'd only see minimal cap relief. Its a business...I only hope E has value enough to get a new home this month...along with a few others.

I agree, I am sure Holland would've rather traded him, I am sure there wasn't many teams asking about him though. I just think he was hoping he would clear. I certainly hope E has trade value, because we need to trim fat. I would like to think someone would take a gamble on him for a playoff run. Sadly, since he has two more season's left on that contract it makes him nearly impossible to trade outright. Now if he were a UFA come july? He'd be gone soon! Nah, who am I kidding, he would be extended a new 4 year deal by now...

I think Lois Lane's boyfriend's appendages may have a similar opinion.... Someone had to go, he wasn't getting playing time, obviously Holland/Blashill thinks more of Smith than Marchenko. Which doesn't bode well for those of us hoping to see an end to Ericsson or Nyquist/Tatar...

I honestly think Green will be kept. I can't see anyone offering more than a 3rd for him, and unless Ken is crazy, he probably won't jump on that....BUT, I do see him opting to keep Erection over Green, for reason way beyond my realm of understanding. I still maintain, the best thing to do is if E is not drafted by Vegas is to buy him out. The hit is minimal and the open roster spot is monumental! BTW, Kenny, we said SELL not give away for free! Anyhow, I didn't think Marchy had a spot here, and I'm a Jensen, Sproul and XO fan first, so I am not surprised, but am glad he found a place to play. I wish I was a fly on the wall of the Leaf room listening to Marchy talk about Blashill... You all do realize that with Marchy's departure, we no longer have a Russian on this team...which is ironic because when Fedorov first played here, it was the start of The Streak. Plus the fact that the Red Wings pretty much put Russian NHL players on the map and opened the floodgates that caused all other teams to look to Russia at the draft...end of an era. I know Svech is in the minors, and should make the club soon, but at the moment, no Russian's on the Detroit squad...

Holland gambled and lost. He said he wouldn't get rid of a young player unless something he needed was coming back. I understand he probably couldn't get much for Marchenko, but put him in a package with Ericsson or Nyquist, maybe a deal gets done. But, no, another player gone for free. I can think of three players on D that could've and should've been gone before Marchy.

Blashill should be shot.....with a water pistol right in the nostril! What the hell did AA do, finger blast Mrs. Blashill?

...and yet Suter still wanted to come here (per Bob McKenzie) but his wife didn't want to live here (also per McKenzie.) Dude, I wanted Suter more than anyone, I was pissed off more than anyone, even if couldn't blame Holland. He offered him enough to get him to want to come here, in the end, the wife ruled. I do belive Holland also offered him $7.5 per season, it was just a year shorter. I could be wrong, but I am nearly positive he did not offer him $5.4M, that would've been an insult and there's no way we'd even be in consideration let alone in the final two.

We didn't have a chance to land Suter, we all but landed him. He WANTED to come here, his wife did not want to come here. We didn't lose him due to lack of trying, we lost him to his wife and her family. If Suter wore the pants in the family, he'd of been here...happy wife though.

I believe the two D most likely to be moved are Green and Smith. But I sure do wish we could get a taker for Ericsson. Unless we're getting an offer we can't refuse, I honestly think green is staying. I'd listen to offers on everyone, but I'd be shopping Ericsson, Marchenko and Smith the hardest. I'm not too sure DD is available unless it brings youth back I'd be shopping all forwards not named Z, Larkin, AA, mantha. I want Vanek longer term, but if we can turn him into a nice pick/prospect and then sign him again, that would be a perfect scenario.
