Is it in a free fall because of the players or how they're used? We say it every GDT, where's Mantha, AA why is Ericsson out there, why not XO or Sproul? Why is DD out there to start OT, why isn't AA or Mantha on the PP? Why is disney.com in the top 6, why isn't Sheahan or Nyquist or Tatar sitting to "get the message." While I'll agree that we don't have superstars, but great coaches bring out the best in what they have. It sounds simple, but, going with our current lineup, our lines should be: Larkin-Z-Mantha AA-NIELSEN-VANEK Nyquist-Helm-Tatar Jurco-GLenny-ABby. No way in hell should AA, Mantha or Larkin see bottom 6 ever again! And they all need to be on the PP units!

On page 1, dreger tweeted that hitch wants to be part of a team and does not want to go out like this. Detroit fits that bill. What's more intriguing than coming here and bringing the team back to glory? If Holland isn't on a conference call with ilitch and Hitchcock today, then the franchise is doomed to Edmonton status of the last 10-15 yrs...

So, here's the perfect scenario...Hire Hitch now...make the playoffs, draft Foote (Hague.) Hitch hires Chelios as D coach and grooms him to take over after he retires! Holland and Hitchcock bring this franchise back to legit playoff team next season, 2018, Holland steps aside (or up) and Stevie Y steps in!

Honestly, if they hired Hitch, got into the last wildcard and was able to still draft Foote or Hague, I would not be upset at all. I don't trust Holland with a top 5, I would only want it to trade it for a legit #1 defenseman. But, like I said, if we had Hitch, maybe Shatt will give us a real close look. Unless he doesn't like Hitch for some reason, but not sure about that. Sign Hitch, make the playoff, extend streak, Ilitch happy, now trade for Fowler, draft Hague (or Foote) then Sign Shatt. Re-Sign Vanek. Buy out Ericsson, Kronwall retires, Clean house before the season starts, buy out Howard as well. Top 6: Larkin - Z -Mantha AA - Nielsen - Vanek Bottom 6: Whoever is let from the sale! Helm, Abby, Glenny? Etc.... Bottom line, sign this guy at this moment, DO NOT let him get away! ...AND the 2009 Penguins...that didn't work.

If Holland let's this guy go to another team...this is a no brainer. He has the pedigree, he has the experience. If anyone can turn this team around, it's him. He will turn DD into a great defender...and guess what, in case you forgot, Shattenkirk is a ufa this July. Having hitch could play a role in landing him. Not my first choice, but easier to attain than Trouba or Hamilton. We could trade for Fowler, then sign shatt. Follow that up with xo, Jensen, Sproul and DD. We're in. Maybe we'll still have green, but Marchy can be dealt and Kronwall can retire. Ericsson bought out I'd not claimed or dealt. The rebuild starts with Hitchcock. He says he wants to be part of a team, then how about rebuilding the greatest franchise in the nhl? Plus a brand new building! Again, this is a no brainer Kenny. If this isn't done, something stinks in Hockeytown. I liken this to Bryan Murray and Scotty Bowman. Scotty became available, no brainer. Hitch isn't Scotty, but he's right up there with Babcock. Holland will get his top 3 pick and not trade it. If he wastes it on a soft Defenseman....ugh! Let's waste our highest pick in decades...ugh this coach and GM has me going so nuts right now! I can't even think straight! This calls for a Clark Griswald rant! Just replace the name Frank Shirley with Ken Holland or Jeff Blashill.

Let's See, Huge Power play and we don't see Mantha, AA, Jensen, XO and about 10 seconds of Larkin. I feel sorry for the players Nielsen and Vanek had to be our there with.

Leaving AA unprotected would be a call for Holland's head...literally. Here's an idea to better our goaltending: Trade Mrazek for Bishop or Fleury. No? Ok, I am grasping at straws here...this season is making me batty!

I think someone should do one called: Did Nyquist earn his salary? I feel there will also be a ton of No's.

Also, Parise was not coming here, at all. He was going home or staying in NJ. Suter wanted to be here (per McKenzie) but his wife did not. So whether or not there was room, it wasn't happening. I like Abby, I live 40 miles north of his hometown, he is an "A" and will probably never be traded. But, right now I am open to shopping him, amongst others in order to turn this landslide in the right direction.

Bingo! Holland may want these guys, but if you waste a protect on them, you may lose someone else you don't want to. My list was short because I'm over it all. I'm all for getting picks/prospects for whoever can be dealt. Outside of Z, Larkin, Mantha, AA, Nielsen and Vanek unless he has a deal to come back in July. So I'm not even sure who I'd protect outside of Z, Nielsen, AA, Mantha because I'm not even sure who'll be here to protect after the deadline. But honestly on D, if all still here I protect XO, Sproul, Jensen. Not unless Holland swings a deal for Fowler.

Honestly, I'd protect Z before Nyquist or Tatar. Z, Nielsen, AA, Mantha and Vanek if he signs early. After that they can have any forward. I'd also honestly protect XO, Sproul and Jensen.

Oh, ok...whew! I was about to say!

Sheesh! What was the first lockout for? To get salaries down? Now they can pay someone $15M per season...
