I know he's not playing, but here's a bit of inspiration for you!
-
Their actual last regulation win was January 25, 1997. 4-1. Draper, Holmstrom, Shanahan, Yzerman with goals. Vernon with the winner. Hextal with the loss, Brind'Amor with the lone Philly goal.
-
Lol at the sentence last REGULATION win was game 2 of Stanley Cup Finals. Not regulation...

I still happen to think Frk showed some great chemistry with Larkin and Mantha in pre-season. Not saying call him up, but he did lead GR last season while playing with AA and Mantha alot. It's great to have him back in the organIzation to allow him to continue to learn our system and develop his chemistry more. If we don't re-sign Ott, Miller or Vanek, there may be a spot for him next season...although I do imagine Vanek gets re-signed unless Vegas offers him $6M+.
-
Isn't AA a natural center? IMO their centers should in this order then: Nielsen Helm AA Zetterberg Yes, Helm #2 because of his chemistry with Nyquist and Vanek. The D is kind of out of his control until Holland upgraded it. But I would roll with 3 lefties 3 righties. Sproul is better than XO, he should stay in every game. Goalie he should give Mrazek about 10-12 games in a row.
-
I saw the projected lines for tonight and I'd say that is his first problem, if not the biggest. My opinion of Nyquist and Helm is no secret, but damn when players seem to have chemistry don't split them up! He's got Nyquist in the top 6 and Helm on the 3rd. He has Z still centering the 2nd line. This takes a lot from me to say, but if Nyquist is needed in the top 6, put Helm there with him! Z is too broke down to be top 6 anymore. That is my opinion on Blashill's problem. Tonight's 3rd line should be Tatar-Z-Abby. Top line should be Larkin-Nielsen-AA.

Mrazek with 1 goal or less tonight. Bank.

What Happens to the Defense Once Kronwall Returns?
LeftWinger replied to Jesusberg's topic in General
I believe that Smith and XO will be the healthy scratch's on most nights. Blashill will want 3 RH'D D in there on most nights. -
Do we dare call this hitting the Juck Frk-ing Pott?
-
Minnesota. Lol!

This is fine, he'll help gr do well this season. Welcome back Frk. I think next time he should pay more attention to road signs. There a much shorter way to get the Grand Rapids from Detroit.
-
Ya, as much as I hated to lose Frk and Pulk, we are now not the only ones to waive them. Holland actually has(d) the chance to pick them up and keep them in GR. If I am remembering the rules correctly. I don't think the line is horrible, but it's no grindline. I still like the Ott signing. They are by far not the reason we aren't as good as we can be.
-
Well, I'd like for Holland to try to get him back in GR. He'll help the Griffins.
-
I'd be ok with Z having back "issues" and getting some LTIR from him. I seriously think he needs it. It would help him to get freaking healthy.

Just caught the score....oh boy. -
I blame Jimmy for lasts nights loss as much as CuJo was responsible for the 2003 playoffs. Was it a soft goal? Yes, but it was only one. It wasn't a last minute back breaker, it wasn't a untimely stinker. We had plenty of time to tie it, and win. The problem was too much dump and chase, too many ***** foot passes and too much throwing it off the boards to clear the zone. Not enough creativity leaving our zone or entering theirs. When the HAD to pass, it was in the feet of the other player. Too much Z. There is no way he should be leading the team in TOI. I'll say it again, I'm tired of seeing Larkin, AA, Nyquist and Helm dumping the puck in. That's a coaching issue. Those 4 particularly have a specific game and it works to their advantage. Being coached to dump and chase everytime they get to the blueline is not their game. Let them fly! Shoot, shoot, shoot! I realize I'm defending Jimmy, gus and Helm, but as much as I can dog them, I can also defend them when they deserve it. Howard did not lose the game, and the 4 guys I mentioned need to be let free to play THEIR game!
-
Dump and chase is AHL hockey. Sometimes it works, sad thing is they just dumped it out of their own end all night as well. Bad ones too. You wonder why Larkin and AA are flat? They are being held back by the dump and chase. Nyquist tried too many fancy passes tonight as well. He's not the only one, but he has been successfull thus far by shooting, not passing too much. This was a game those three could've taken over with their speed. Bad coaching in this one.
-
What's the corsi on dump and chase? I hate this hockey!!! All they're doing tonight is just dumping it everytime they get the puck. Bad COACHING tonight.

Ya, 69 wins the an impressive stat....especially when you consider maybe 30 of them were against a Michigan State Agricultural team that's focused on agriculture with sports being a 9th or 10th down the list. Much like when Michigan played mostly regional and now defunct colleges early in their history. But I do hope Detroit can pull this one out! Tough one.
-
Ya, I sure hope Detroit wins its 7th in a row, unlike Michigan's 1 in a row. Detroit will be 7-2 much like Michigan State is 7-2 the last 9 against Michigan...oh the similarities!
-
We'll, maybe the Wings will still "wreck" Boston...
-
Jurco instead of Nyquist? I'm not a fan, but that's some Nyquist hate!
-
Ya, they have to protect Bieska, unless they can trade him, and then they have to choose who else. Lindholm and Vatanen seem the most logical.
-
Right, what I am saying is, just because they get to contact RFA's for 48 hours, still doesn't mean we'd lose them for sure. The RFA could just say, no thanks to whatever they offer them. Tatar and AA for sure better be protected! Ouellet is also an RFA. I'd hate to lose Russo or Paterson as well. I could see some of our GR RFA's listening to some offers. At least the ones who may be tired of not making it in Detroit. Lashoff, Jensen, Callahan for example.
