Dump and chase is AHL hockey. Sometimes it works, sad thing is they just dumped it out of their own end all night as well. Bad ones too. You wonder why Larkin and AA are flat? They are being held back by the dump and chase. Nyquist tried too many fancy passes tonight as well. He's not the only one, but he has been successfull thus far by shooting, not passing too much. This was a game those three could've taken over with their speed. Bad coaching in this one.

Ya, 69 wins the an impressive stat....especially when you consider maybe 30 of them were against a Michigan State Agricultural team that's focused on agriculture with sports being a 9th or 10th down the list. Much like when Michigan played mostly regional and now defunct colleges early in their history. But I do hope Detroit can pull this one out! Tough one.

Right, what I am saying is, just because they get to contact RFA's for 48 hours, still doesn't mean we'd lose them for sure. The RFA could just say, no thanks to whatever they offer them. Tatar and AA for sure better be protected! Ouellet is also an RFA. I'd hate to lose Russo or Paterson as well. I could see some of our GR RFA's listening to some offers. At least the ones who may be tired of not making it in Detroit. Lashoff, Jensen, Callahan for example.

No doubt, just looking at ways to fit under the cap. As long as the D keeps it up, we have no need for anyone really. At least not a pressing need.

With the Ducks now being Cap compliant, the need to move a player is not there at the moment, but if they could acquire a top 6 forward for the same or less cap hit as Fowler, they could be players. Now, Nyquist has always been in the conversation, but I think they may jump at Tatar considering his low cap hit, that would give them even more room when players return from the IR. We'd still have to make room, maybe include XO in the deal and (unfortunately) send AA back to GR to make it work...could get interesting!

Not worried about losing an RFA. It's not like the lay claim to them and that's that. They just get a window to negotiate with them. The RFA still has to agree to a deal. If he doesn't want to go to Vegas, then there's no need to worry about losing him.

XO is already a healthy scratch. We are under the cap, when Kronwall returns nobody will need to be waived, the question is who becomes the other healthy scratch. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I betting Smith. Blashill likes the right handed shots on all pairs. I could see Marchy rotating with Smith, but I'm betting Smith goes out first. When Jurco comes back, then it'll get interesting. IMO, despite his options, you cannot send AA back to GR. But, it is a business...

I am not for #2 really, because Edmonton has shown you just how much tanking does for you. I realize if the playoff streak breaks, no biggie, but I don't feel like missing the playoffs for 10+ years. The winning streak is great, I hope we can win 6 out of 8 all year long. No losing streaks please!

True, but how long will he be out? Is it Franzen LTIR? This could very well be a whole season thing. I'm just saying that as of now, the need to move a contract is over. If any teams still inquire about Fowler, or anyone, this puts Anaheim more in the drivers seat than before.
