Datsyuk Announcement to Officially Leave NHL
LeftWinger replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
I do agree, he should've been captain. Plus they should've focused more on getting and/or keeping an elite sniper to play on his wing. Yes, I mean Hossa. But even after that, they forced him to play with Abby, Helm, Cleary at times. I don't blame him for being mad, but don't sign the contract and not honor it and absolutely don't come out and not give 100%. Yes, I'm saying it, like Franzen before the concussion, he got his contract and dialed it back significantly. So, I am mad at datsyuk for not giving his all when we needed it and not honoring his contract. He has his reasons and rights, but to me it will always be a skid mark on his career...much like a lot of fans still hold over Fedorov. -

Wish Larkin would switch to 17 and I hope Mantha goes with 39. -
Datsyuk Announcement to Officially Leave NHL
LeftWinger replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
Put it this way, if he honored his contract, and played to his ability, we wouldn't have had to trade the contract, we'd have that top prospect D that IS projected to be a #1 and wouldn't be worried about whether we can get Trouba or Shattenkirk...we wouldn't have had to sign Nielsen, maybe they would've still signed Vanek and Ott though. I say damn Datsyuk for floating around and not honoring his contract. For all the s*** Fedorov gets, at least he honored his contracts until they expired. But, he can retire whenever he wants, so be it, but he f***ed us more ways than one. -

Up this guy. Happy or not, f***ed should've been giving his all here and earning his money! Insteas, he just poo pooed about being here and floated around stealing $7M from the team and the fans! Claiming injury only to return to form miraculously. f*** Datsyuk. -

Holland didn't make the Shanahan deal. He wasn't GM yet. But your point is taken and agreed with. -

He won't trade a Nyquist, Tatar or Ericsson either. -

If that's the case, from now on Helm is in my Winnipeg scenarios. Helm, Mantha, Smith, pick for Trouba. Get it done Kenny. -

The point was he took advantage of the limited time he had and basically outscored someone getting 6 more mins per game plus better linmates. -

Broken down by games played and minutes played AA is at .04 points per minute, Nyquist is .03 for last season, not even factoring in quality of minutes, or linemates or PP. For mY money AA is better and if given top 6 and more important minutes, and better linemates, he'd outscore nyquist. -

I guess what I'm saying is, AA and Mantha are both highly asked about, so I am just saying that either of them would be a blue chip in a trade. -

About as close to untouchable as he can get. Once Nielsen is gone, AA and Larkin are your #1 & #2 centers. AA, Larkin, DD and Mrazek are all in my non-traditional list. Mantha would be there, but right now I'm desperate for Trouba. Holland needs to be as well. If we could somehow get Trouba without dealing Mantha, that would be great. If they'd take Tatar, Smith, D prospect and pick, I'd be in for that as well.I will also say, I have nothing against any of the players I am mentioning in trade. I am not just throwing the names there to get rid of them. If that were the case I'd be saying Nyquist, Helm, Howard and E in all of this. Although I do mention Nyquist and E in a deal for Fowler. But we're talking Trouba now. By all means, if there's a way to get Trouba without giving up Mantha or AA or DD. I'd love it...maybe they ask for a different prospect and roster player... -

I'm not trading AA. Mantha would get the deal done. There's no way they don't accept Mantha for a player that does not want to be there. Not unless they get wowed by another team that is. But I'm still not trading AA. Cap wise I guess we'd have to hope he'd sign for a deal for a couple seasons until we can clear more space. Being home, maybe he'd sign for a deal and when Howard is moved, that'll open up space. -

Lets balls out on trouba then. I'm OK with that. This fan base would be ecstatic if he traded for him. to WPG : Anthony Mantha, Brendan Smith, 2nd. to DET : Jacob Trouba, 5th. -

And that's fine. If we pulled off the miracle both trades, then he would be 2nd pairing. But the price would still be high to get him. If we only did one I'd prefer trouba. Imagine this though: DD - Trouba Fowler - Marchenko Kronwall - Green I happen to think that's a great lineup. Trouba would cost you Mantha and probably a 2nd (along with Smith) but the time is now. I have no doubt he'd come here and stay for 10, 15 more years at least. Plus be the top pairing guy....in his home town? It'd be worth mantha, imo. Especially how each day our D becomes more and more desperate. If Kronwall can't go all year, and we've lost xo and or sproul/Jensen to waivers, we are really in deep for a replacement. Then prices would sky rocket! -
Poor jurco...odds are he'll never Crack our lineup 100% after this latest setback. The ship may have sailed on him and Pulk.

It's nice to read that Kronwall put more importance on playing in Detroit than for Sweden. Hopefully his knee isn't done. That being said, prices for Holland just went up. With trouba and Fowler available, I'd still be trying to land both. Sure you don't want to give up your top prospect(s) but trouba is only 22, he'd instantly become your top young D man and have nowhere to go but up. Fowler is only 24, and given the ice time here, he'd also have nowhere to go but up. So if you're giving up Mantha in a package, it's not like you're getting old men back. At this point, given the current status of our D and the chance Kronwall doesn't play the entire season, or worse, I am offering Winnipeg a package for Trouba starting with Mantha and probably including Smith and a pick. Nyquist may have topped out, maybe Anaheim doesn't want him, then offer them up Tatar instead. If they'd do the E/Bieska swap, that would be wondrous. Mantha, Smith, pick for Trouba Tarar, E, XO for Fowler, Bieska. To have a top 4 of Trouba, Fowler, DD and Marchenko for the rest of their careers is worth imo. You'd still have green and Kronwall with Bieska stepping in for Kronwall if/when he can't play and Sproud as the #7 then. Sounds easy right? Bottom line is, no more important time than now to be seriously going after trouba. If all we did was Mantha and smith, pick for trouba, that would be great. Remember trouba is only 22, nowhere near topped out, at this point gambling Mantha would be a worth while bet. Trouba will be top pairing and will remain here for his career. For the record, I'd be very against AA being traded instead of Mantha. I think including Mantha gets the trade done. -

Anaheim needs a leftwinger, there's no reason why a trade centering around Nyquist in exchange for Fowler cannot be done. Except that Holland thinks Nyquist is the future of his franchise or something...thanks kenny...make the deal already. -

There are actually 3 UFA's that I'm totally surprised aren't signed: Kris Russell David Jones Jeremy Welsh Other than that, 99% of the remaining UFA'S are crud, or past their usefulness. -

Datsyuk and Kovy are deadly together...remember when nobody wanted to sign him to play with Pav? Something tells me I'd Pav had quality wingers to play with, like Kovy, he'd still be in Detroit. But let's put sub part players on his line and make him do all the work load...thanks Holland. -

Nice goal....wish he would've had that effort last year. Thanks holland for not keeping him happy. -
Are they free? It's the only way I'd go see the s*** show. The summer started out so well...I can't believe we trusted Holland to trade some forwards to make his D better... Won't pay a red cent to go see them play. The more people don't show up, the only way ilitch will learn.

at Holland. Now, with no roster crunch, Fowler and Trouba will be dealt elsewhere and we'll have the same D as last year's playoff poop party....minus KFQ of course. -

Amen! It's ideal, but you have 25 players on the roster if you count 2 goalies. I like it, but we all know Holland! Miller and Ott were signed to play, and E will never be a healthy scratch. He'll probably be first pairing. Dammit Holland!
