No to helm....I'd give wiz a shot for depth if we dumped a couple of D in a trade. I sure would love to acquire a #1 center. IMO one of Nyquist /Tatar needs to be traded and one of Pulkkinen /Jurco. On D one of Marchy/Sproul/XO can be dealt along with one of Smith/Ericsson. Any of those in the name of a better dman and a #1 center. Howie can be dealt in there as well...we have some assets. Like I said, if all is fair, Marchy should get you RNH. Especially after Larson got them Hall...

At this rate, I'd do the okposo deal and Backes. Sounds like a ton of money, but this team can't stand pat. Add Backes for 3-4 yes at $6M and give Okposo the 7/7. That's only $1M more than you were prepared to offer Stamkos. Make a deal for a defender. Not unless Holland is in on RNH. But I'd still go with okposo along with RNH.

There are plenty of reasons he could sign here. We have a great crop of young players that WILL be our core for years to come. We have an ownership that will stop at nothing to win. He WILL be the face of the franchise, he WILL be the #1 center, he WILL be the one who grabs the C before Larkin. He WILL get the A this season. Let's compare cities. I'm not saying Detroit is in the same conversation when it comes to things to do. But, just like most cities, there are parts of Toronto that are shady. Really if you look at Foxtown, The Theatre district, and the Arena area. There are million dollar condos right on Woodward and near commerica. You have Gilbert renovating every building he can get his hands on, he's not leasing those buildings for pennies. What he's not doing, Nicole Curtiss is doing the homes. The area adjacent to LCA and including Brush Park are going to be multi million dollar homes and condos. Not even mentioning our northern suburbs and Indian villiage. Million Dollar homes. Detroit still has ruins and crime, but that's mostly outside of downtown. Chicago is worse for crime than Detroit. Doesn't stop players from living downtown during the season. He may choose home, but it's not like we have nothing else to offer but money.

Maclean just reittered how tight Stamkos and Martin are and thinks they may end up in the same place...hmmmm....

Doug McLean seems to think Arizona is a wildcard in the Stamkos sweeps. I'm watching Hockey Central right now on nhl network.
