ya, expansion draft...lets just hope there a relocation instead. Besides, I think Jimmy would be the exposed goalie and he may just get grabbed...hope floats maybe? -

I would like nothing more than for Pulk's offense to translate to the NHL...we have lacked that one timer slapshot for a long long time! I really hope that he plays well enough to earn PP time and maybe even top 6 time once in a while! -
I will give you that, I guess she could be considered an inside source, but the way you implied it was like I said I knew someone who was Holland's right hand man....and back then, I simply said, before Danny chose, that my friend dates his sister and she says it was always Detroit. Simple...and yes, on this forum there was debate about whether or not he'd choose here because of guaranteed icetime,so I thought that hearing what I heard was news enough to say on here. It was hearsay at the time, but proved to be true. Obviously he was leaning towards Detroit and anyone could have guessed it would be here, but I still thought it was cool hearing from his sister that he had already chosen even though through out the hockey world, there was debate on where he would chose, and even fans from Toronto and Edmonton were positive it would be them, yet again, I felt a bit in the loop hearing from his sister before any other NHL source heard from Danny...if you don't think that would be cool if it were you, then I am sorry, but I thought it was really cool...cool enough to share with my forum friends. But if you'd rather continue to make fun and mock and troll, feel free. I know what I know, and who I know and if I ever hear anything from my friends again, I will most certainly share it.

Friends and inside sources are completely different. I said from day one, and it has never changed, my buddy Jeff was dating Danny's sister and he told me that Danny decided he was going to pick the Red Wings, even before his last day at Western...assuming his sister told Jeff that her brother made his mind up sooner than the public knew who he would choose...

Well it was very adult of all of you to start with me, when I didn't even refer to anything of the like. I have only ever said I heard from someone in regards to Danny D and Smith/Kindl...does that justify them doing what they did without me even saying anything even remotely near that? Go ahead, go over the page, it starts on page 6 of the Jurco thread, number9, zombo and another user decided to go hog wild on my friends telling me something in years past...and not even the correct story either...anyhow, if you look at the threads, I have tried to stop talking about it, yet, same users keep on keepin on...

Zombo, Well, then debate without trolling...Other than the above post where I correct what you said about what I used to call him, feel free to go back through all my references to him and see when the last time I called him that. I do not refer to him that way and haven't for a long time. Go ahead, find it. Then apologize for calling me absolutely childish when referring to him. I explained (twice now) why I slotted him in the 13th spot, its not because I dislike him, if that were the case I would have left him off completely, it's because, I believe, at this point in his recovery, that not playing an entire season in the top 6 would be better for him than doing so and running the risk of re-injury. On the other hand seeing spot time in and out of the lineup, setting a goal to remain off of IR throughout the season is a huge step towards making it back to playing full time, especially his first season off LTIR. That assessment has nothing to do for my dislike for him, if I were going just by my dislike, I would prefer he be gone, but I know he won't be bought out or traded, but refuse to believe that in his first season back after a near career ending head injury, that he will be healthy and ready enough to knock Nyquist, with his new $4.75M contract, who needs to prove that he is worth it, down to the 3rd line. It aint happening, Nyquist is our new go to guy along with Tatar, no way Franzen steps right in and knocks these two out of the top 6 off the get go... -
e_prime, no one cares fine, but look back over the Jurco thread, I simply said there are some overpaid contracts on this team and two particular users decided to start up the whole uncles, father, sister blah blah thing. I never brought anything up about the TWO instances I said I heard from a friend until they were laying it on. You think I just let it drop and let immature kids keep it up? No.

I never said I knew inside sources...I think that's in your head.

It's Franzine, and I do believe purposely trolling a user is WAY beyond the rules of this forum. Don't like what I say in regards to players, then don't comment on it or ignore me, but DO NOT troll or try to attack me. I do believe that too is against forum rules...if not re-read them, you may need a refresher. Everytime I post something you are referring to me in some way regarding my uncles nephews wife's husband or my dislike for certain players, even though I didn't make reference to either subject, that is called purposely baiting me, also I did not refer to you in my post, nor did I refer to you in the prior post, but if you continue to troll me by making fun and mocking me, we can handle this through the mods. So I suggest you just ignore what I type, especially when it doesn't refer to you. If for some reason I bring you up or get on the subject of my dad's son's cousin's cousin OR the players I dislike, then feel free to comment on those subjects. As it is, the last 25 times you have posted something somewhere, it's sole purpose was to attack and bait me... -

Well there is ZERO chance, even healthy enough to play, that he plays 82 games. I never said he was be in the press box for 82 games either. Instead of just looking at the lines and commenting on Franzen being listed as the 13th guy, read the post that goes with it. He will spend time in the press box in order to stay off IR and avoid being bashed around night in and night out. It's the safest thing for him. Like I said, to him, right now, a successful season will be staying off the IR for the entire campaign. If he plays 50 games, that will be a successful healthy season in regards to his steps towards becoming a full time player again. -

That is fine, which ever works better. It was always said that Dats loves Abby on his wing so I just always put them together. I wonder what a line of Nyquist-Richards-Tatar would look like out here if Z went back with Dats...I can imagine either way, we would be in for some excitement! -
Hmmmm, don't really give a f*** which players were asked for as opposed to which ones were settled on? Ok that's fine. I never said I had connections proving which players were asked for the last couple of seasons. I was simply commenting on things that were already being discussed and then somehow, some way, you point the finger at me for bringing up the topic? Someone else already talked about Mantha may or may not being asked for, I simply said in 2014 AFTER the Legwand trade, Holland indeed said most phone calls from other GM's started and ended with the name Mantha during a phone conversation with TSN and he said he was untouchable. As of last draft, it was only speculation by TSN insiders that Mantha was now available. Again, I failed to see where I deserve this latest attack. Being underwhelmed at some of the people I know, and yes, they are FAR from being anywhere near a decision maker or in the upper office's of the organization, but the times I mention something, it usually turns out. Danny D, the availability of Smith last and this season. Sure he wasn't traded, but he was available and in a lot of trade talks from TSN and other NHL analysts, if, indeed, Holland was willing to let go of Mantha or Larkin last deadline, it is a well known fact that Weiss and Smith were going back to Toronto along with Mantha for Phanuef, but at that point Holland still (and probably still does) consider Mantha a big part of the future and refused to trade him. But Smith was always going to be the one to go. So I don't see where the mocking comes when I said that my friend said a trainer told him that Smith was on the outs and will possibly be on the trading block...Like I said, mock all you want, but I have not be wrong when it comes to what I reported and haven't mentioned anything else from these two friends of mine. It was always just the Danny D and Smith/Kindl info. That's it. I've known Manny's Father-in-law for 20 years, but only met Manny once, and never do I recall saying that Manny said this or that when it pertained to any kind of information within the organization...

With the contract Nyquist just got and his ability to top 30 goals, do you honestly see him on the 3rd line? IF Franzen is back, I see HIM 3rd line at them most, with some PP time of course. I really see him being more like the 13th forward. Besides you left out Miller. I think if Franzen makes a successful comeback in the NHL (and right now a successful comeback would be just staying off the IR for a whole season, his 30 goal seasons are over) it will be best to be limited in his role on this team to only playing so much to avoid another relapse. If our former coach were still here, I could see him forcing Franzen into a bigger role than he is ready for AND keeping Dats and Z together. I believe Blash will experiment with them together and splitting them up to see what is more problematic for other teams. I see a healthy roster looking like this: Tatar - Datsyuk - Abdelkader Nyquist - Richards - Zetterberg Jurco - Sheahan - Pulkkinen Miller - Glendening - Helm Franzen (along with either Ferraro or Anderssson) -
Well MY post that you commented on, I said Holland was on the phone AFTER THE LEGWAND DEAL, not after the Cole and Zidz deals. It was widely speculated that in 2015, Mantha AND the 1st was available, but in 2014 they were both untouchable. Granted though, you are correct about 2015, I don't ever recall Holland saying that Mantha was available, just TSN speculation. I was referring to 2014 though during a conversation after the Legwand deal. In just a year, our prospects went from just Mantha that everyone asked about to being him, Larkin, AA, Pulk, Bertuzzi, Sproul, Marchy, Ouellet. I think the Wings should keep a hold of these guys as long as they can fit on the roster and let it grow! Excited for the future!
-
I wish all the best to Dats getting better! How cool will it be IF Richards and Z gel together like cake and butter and it allows, when he comes back, Datsyuk to stick with Abby and have Tatar the scoring machine on his wing! Do you think Blash will have Z at center on a different line or together with Richards? I certainly hope that Dats getting healthy is NOT Hollands big acquisition...the deadline can be so good this season with Howard available!
-
That I do agree with you on! Unless Holland came out and said, everyone asked about Mantha that year, wait he did, he told TSN via the phone call after the Legwand deal, that Mantha was untouchable and was not being traded. He wasn't interested in trading him, so that is why he was never in on the Kesler or Vanek deal. But hey, not much else can be said about it...
-
I agree, he better pull a Pulkkinen this season and lead the league in at least goal scoring...proving that he can at least be a sniper. ....I will let you know if I hear anything. But IIRC, when Holland was on the phone with TSN after the Legwand deal, he did say that everyone asked about Mantha, and he called him untouchable. I wouldn't say Manny's father-in-law "sorta" knows Manny, but you can continue to be a child all you want. Here's a balloon for you. Oh, and my friend Dan, the guy he knows and skates with, his name is Russ...that's all I know. Just how DEEP he is in the organization is unknown to me.

like sand through and hour glass as the world turns so are the over inflation of players salaries...whatever he gets awarded, this pretty much guarantee's when Mrazek takes the starting job all season, he will absolutely get north of $5M...cant have two $5M goalies.... I am a huge Mrazek fan, but honestly, If I am looking at it from business standpoint, as a GM, I am hoping Jimmy re-gains his confidence and keeps his starting job, hindering Petr's games to 20 or so. That would make RFA negotiation's a lot easier next July...BUT if Jimmy s***s the ice again, and Mraz saves the season and starts in the playoffs....here we go!

If used on the 3rd line and sometimes higher, along with consistent PP time, I can see 25-30 goals. It all depends on how hard he wants to work though... -

I believe in him! Doesn't mean he wont fail, but I sure hope all his skeptics are all on the wagon very very soon! -
Holland is business savvy. I don't doubt he is saying things even though the truth may be opposite... I love all this Pulk and Mantha suck stuff! Pulk only lead the AHL in points all with playing 31 games in Detroit. Mantha started the season with a broken leg and even after that had 33 points in 62 games, that is getting a point every 2 games...not bad for someone who missed most of training camp and had to make up for lost time. I know Jimmy D said what he said and he knows more than all of us combined, but I reserve my assessment on him after a full healthy season. Even the likes of Abby had less than a point a game in his first AHL season and look how he turned out in the NHL. I know Mantha was touted to be "that sniper" but if he turns into a solid player like Abby and scoring 20+ goals a season, I think he will have a very successful NHL career... What happens when/if Larkin only scores .6 points a game in his first full season in GR? Does he suck then?
-
I agree with Gretzky, Nyquist should have started that season in Detroit, also I agree last season, Jurco should've spent the year in GR, considering he had the exemption, he would've developed a little more to the NA game. Not that he would've been a big hit here, but we would have never lost Nestrasil for nothing. Sure, the log jam this year would've been a body larger, but who knows...I know he wasn't a huge loss, but you guys know my disgust with losing someone or nothing. ALTHOUGH, after Nyquist was called up he was the hottest scorer in the league practically, could you imagine the contract he'd have now (as opposed to $4.75M) if he had played that entire season and scored at that pace for 65-82 games?

azzz, that's just the thing, IF Franzen played healthy, but he won't, its just like saying IF Fedorov never left, his number would already be retired. I would also say, if Franzen were to play healthy he would most definitely be on one of the top 2 lines all year, so IF Pulk was with Z or D all year, he would most definitely score more than Franzen. Lot of IF's here, but until either one plays all year healthy and strong and proves everyone otherwise, I am going with the odds that Franzen is done, and Pulk will blossom playing more minutes and more quality minutes. -
signed Pulkkinen re-signs.... 1 year deal
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Yes....he may not played with him all the time, but Nyquist played a hell of a lot more wth Z than Pulk did(if at all) respectively in their first 30-40 games...and more on the PP. Just saying, Nyquist got better icetime in those 11:68 per game than Pulk did in his 8:88.... -
signed Pulkkinen re-signs.... 1 year deal
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Ok, so Nyquist played 11:68 (12:08 maybe?) and Pulk 9:28 and Pulk had one more goal and only 5 less points. So that proves that much lilke Nyquist, Pulk started slow getting his feet wet. Why is it not air to believe that he will not break out, much like Nyquist when he plays more like Nyquist got to the last two seasons?
