why are you guys blaming Mrazek for the first goal? He played it pretty good, may have cheated a bit thinking Johnson was going to pass it, but Johnson place the perfect shot in the perfect place...and I can't reiterated enough that the play never happens if Helm doesn't try to be cute in the other end...

They were 6 minutes away from a 2-0 win, not 2, not 4. What game were you guys watching? Johnson scored on Helms bad decision with just less than 6 mins to go.

it was Helms bad decision that caused the first goal, plus it was Helm on Johnson at the other end, not E. So if someone was going to trip him, it would've been Helm. Also, Mrazek was 6 minutes away from back to back shutouts, not 2. I agree E made a mistake on the 2nd goal, but Helm caused the 1st goal, if he doesn't try to be fancy, thus game would've been over in regulation. This loss is on Helm.

blame E all you want, and I am far from his biggest fan, but if Helm shoots the puck in the 3rd instead of trying to make a pretty play, goal #1 never happens...blame him again in OT, if he shoots it instead if try to fancy play it into the middle....no goal. exactly my point, Helm should've just went forward instead of try to get fancy...he just tried to get fancy again there instead of just shooting it and game/series over...Helm made two bad decisions and it cost them a 3-1 series lead.

watch the first goal again, if Helm continued to skate toward the net or just shot it toward it instead if trying to cut back a second time, Stralman doesn't steal the puck and the 1st goal never happens. That momentum change is all on Helm's bad decision. Watch it, you'll see.

Very happy for the team, and especially Mrazek. I've always supported him to become the #1 guy, and he is taking it, just like I hoped! Lets hope he keeps the great play going on Thursday!

they can't get any good D because with all the top picks they've had, they were forced to take the best available player instead of drafting the position they needed. Same will happen this year with this #1. They are pretty much forced to draft McDavid, even though they don't need anymore young offensive players. Now they need to trade a few of those young forwards for some established D.

The Leaf angle is an interesting scenario...IF and I say IF Edmonton feels that McDavid does not what to play there (like Lindros) and feels that they need to trade that pick, or McDavid once drafted, can you imagine the return for him? I can see BOTH Phanuef and Kessel being an Oiler in that trade. The Oil has "hand" here, but knowing the way the franchise in run, they will refuse to trade the pick or the player and force him to play for the worst franchise in the league right now, with no change seen in the near future. I think the best thing to do is trade that pick to the highest bidder....and with a franchise player like McDavid being the prize, they could REALLY address a TON of needs...as long as they trade for assets, NOT more picks. They already have enough good young players, they need to address needs NOW. I think, though, Kevin Lowe just refuses to let go of the Good Ol' Days where his Edmonton team grew up together and won those 4 out of 5 Cups, and is just hoping that one day this current team flips that switch and becomes the 80's Oil again...I get it, but man it's been a LONG time.
