I don't feel confident in Howard at all! These next games (epsecially Ottawa and Boston) could be the most important games of the season thus far. Do you really feel Jimmy should play in any of them after the last 4-5 debacles? 3 goals on 9 shots? twice? I don't feel like giving Ottawa or Boston a 3 goal cushion and then trying to battle back and win. If Petr wins 2 of the next 3 and solidfies the playoff birth, I would be more than confident starting him in the playoffs...I know the team plays more confident in front of him.

I am all for the Wings collecting as many young talented kids as they can. If these guys DO have that Hull and Oates type chemistry, it would make tons of sense that he would want to become a FA and sign to play with Larkin. I hear Larkin is thinking about signing a contrat instead of returning to Michigan next season. That would put both of them together for the next step of their career's. I am only guessing that Hyman is doing this to play with Larkin, he may just not want to play with Florida. But I would be very excited to have both of those kids in our organization, along with the talent that is already there. Larkin, Mantha, AA, Pulkkinen (I know I am missing someone) and then add Hyman to that group...future gets even brighter!

Well, one thing is for sure, if there is a goalie change in the playoffs, it won't be Monster! Listen, to answer a question from the other thread since this is a better place to discuss it, I don't really care if the Wings win with Jimmy or Petr, just win, but that doesn't mean that its not my belief that Jimmy cannot win the big games. Doesn't mean Petr is the next coming of Hasek, but IMO, he is better than Jimmy and deserves to be the #1 guy, and IMO can and will take this team further into the playoffs...also IMO the next Stanley Cup this team wins, Howard will NOT be the goalie to win it. AND 2 seasons ago, just saying, that a bunch of us called for Petr to be pushing Jimmy out of his starting job within a couple of seasons and now it looks as though it could be happening...IMO this time next season Petr will be solidly the #1 guy. (which makes Jimmy a tradable asset, if he'd waive his NTC.)

face it jimmy is just not good. It wasn't him who got them to where they were, it was the over achieving defense. He proved that by s***ting out the shootouts. Now when the D started playing bad, jimmy's true talent showed.

it doesn't matter because Howard will never take this team deep....so I won't have to worry about that choice. Just like the omnipotent return of playoff Franzen that has and will never happen.

wrong? Me? NEVER!!!! I am always right about the important stuff...but to be fair, I wasn't the only one saying jimmy would lose his job to Mrazek within two seasons. Never mentioned a trophy, but when you get attacked over a subject time and time again, it always feels great to remind all the naysayers about it. The only trophy I want is a Stanley Cup and we are never gonna get it playing Howard. Petr has much to prove, but he us a far superior goalie than Howard. And that's fact.

...i know Mrazek played GREAT not well. It was a rhetorical question. I am glad they won a very important game. Mostly because Jimmy wasn't in net to give up 6 goals. Us Mrazek supporters have been telling you guys that he is taking Jimmys job, everyone laughed...but guess what he IS taking Jimmy's job.
