I watched it. I know, the goal wasn't his fault, but I have to come up with something to blame on Jimmy. How dare he play a good game... I still don't like him and hope Mrazek starts the next one and like I said slowly claims the #1 spot. -

Mrazek 9-1 Howard 0-2 I just don't like Jimmy. If Mrazek starts the next game and wins, Howard loses his #1 status. Something that a few if us called last season. Mrazek slowly taking over Jimmy's job. -
It's a no brainer that #91 is going up. It doesn't matter what happened in the past, the realtionship is smoothed over. Sergei is part of the Alumni Association, he has close relationships with the upper brass again. Not that they are best buddies, but I do believe any hard feelings between the two parties are far over. Without getting into the debate of the contract offer, then the lessor offer later, it was more the organization's fault for Sergei leaving, than Sergei just wanting to go. No one can deny that without Sergei, we don't win any of those Cups...maybe 2002, but even then, he was a very instrumental in winning that Cup. IMO, no Fedorov, no Cups. #91 goes to the rafters, it's the right thing to do.

I am not surprised, the inter-divsional thing is too risky. I don't know too much about him, but serious, other than being RH'd, is he that much better than anyone we have? I think if he were the be all end all in RH'd guys, TO would have given him a ton more money in their last offer. That being said, if the price remained just a 2nd and a "good" prospect, Franson would have been nice here, but with the added players, I think it was just too rich of a deal. We don't need all that going on, we just need to address a certain need. So, does that put us deeper in the Petry court? Or can we expect a bigger trade?

could be...more so the Church itself, or the priesthood, the cloth. The whole including the sermon.

Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

I'd actually like to see if indeed Buffalo is throwing in the towel, how much it would take to get Bogo here. Maybe a couple of picks and a prospect? -

Right! The rumor is a 2nd and a "good" prospect is needed for Franson. I am sure that a inter divisional trade may be a bit more. For the rumor, I wouldn't mind a rental, but not for an overpayment. That's when I would rather have Petry. Again, anything more than Kindl and a pick, I may be apprehensive on that one. Our RH'd kids are coming, but in a playoff run, do you really want to rest your hopes on a rookie, or someone who's played NHL Hockey for 5-6 years? Not saying Petry or Franson are that much better than Marchenko, but when it comes to NHL experience, they both win out. Marchenko and Ouellet will be here next year or the next, they aren't going to be lost if we get a rental or if one of those rentals re-sign. Like I said, Kenny and just stand pat and try to get as far as he can with the team as it is, or he can try to get the one or two pieces to make the serious contenders this year...all depends on cost. But watching them play PIT and TPA just shows that they aren't ready in the state they stand right now to seriously contend....a couple of upgrades now, they just might. That is why March 2nd will be a very important day for Holland deciding how serious he is in trying to win a Cup this year or in a few years. I am not calling our team bad. It's obvious that they are good. They are good enough to be one or two "rentals" away from seriously challenging for the Cup. BUT not at overpayment. There is a huge difference between our team trying to hit a homerun with a couple of rentals and our team desperate to just get on base. Last year, we needed a trade to just get on base, this year, IMO, we need a trade (or two) to have a better chance at that homerun. If nothing is done, maybe we get a double or triple, but it will very hard to get that homer. Getting Franson, Jagr, or Petry can get us a better chance to hit that homerun, as long as they don't cost too much. Like I said before, it all it would cost is a 2nd & "Good" prospect or Franson, it would be worth the phone call. A pick for Jagr is worth a shot. Kindl and a pick for Petry is well worth a phone call. -

if we can land Franson for the rumored 2nd and a good prospect, I think Holland should gamble. If Jagr only costs a pick, go for it. or if Petry would just cost Kindl and a pick, then go that route if you can't grab Frason. Either way Detroit needs a shot in the arm in order to go deep in the playoffs. Holland must choose whether he wants to go deep or just hope he goes deep. March 2nd is a bigger day for Detroit than you may think... -
but I'm sorry, if all we lost was 2 draft picks and a "good" prospect and gained Franson and Jagr, this team would be better and harder to play against. Thus organization is deep enough to give up a couple of draft picks for a better shot at the Cup this year.
-
so, at what point did I say this team sucks. I simply said they aren't up there with Pit and Holland should really think what he wants to do March 2. He either gets good enough this year to beat teams like Pit and Tampa, or make the playoffs and see what happens and get better next year by getting more experience.
-
so, you can't stick check anyone anymore? So NOT a penalty...
-
well, that will be our last PP of the game. Made it look too easy, Uncle Gary cannot have that happen again!
-
stop telling people to chill out! We have a good record, but its obvious we are not in the class of PIT. Can't blame people for being realistic. This game is going to make Holland do some thinking March 2.
-
no goalie interference...dont tell me this is an Uncle Gary game...most penalized team in the league and Detroit hasn't got a PP yet.
-
sure wish we had a sniper there instead of Helm Cement Hands...we are not in the same league as Pit, I think Holland should look to upgrade D for sure...possibly some offensive help.
-
not so good thus far. Got to show up tonight, very good measure up game. If we can't hang, best seek trade scenarios...

at the price of a draft pick, it wouldn't hurt. IMO. Hell we could probably get him for the ever popular future considerations! -

Ok, Ok, that was a emotional blurp there...wait to see if Jimmy can win that series orbetter yet, take us deep (ewww) this spring...then come draft day, BAM! Howard for Bogo/Stewart/1st. Yes, I am in dream land, but if Jimmy pukes again in the playoffs...off with his head! (contract) -

So, with Enroth being traded for scraps, let's "convince" Jimmy to waive his NTC to go home to Buffalo for Bogo, Stewart and a 1st.
