and God Bless both of them and their families. Suter is from Wisconsin, his in laws are from Minny. But when you are on the ice, everything goes out the door. I don't and didn't wish nor make fun of any personal tragedy. But when he plays against us and is losing like this, I will always rib him for verbally agreeing to play here, then choosing his in-laws. He chose his in-laws over a perennial winning franchise. He made his choice and God Bless him, but he chose yahtzee over winning.

don't need him and his head problems. Let him sit LTIR for the rest of the season to get his issues taken care of and see if he can come back next year ready...if not, then retire.

I agree, but Marchenko is future for any team he goes to. He would be a nice building block for anyone. There just is not enough room here for all if them. Not without trading Smith and Ericsson. Which won't happen, so in two summers, we will be forced to trade one of them or trade them. In two summers we'll have Krinner, Ericsson, Dekeyser and Smith under contract. Then you have Ouellet, Sproul, Marchenko and Jensen vying for three spots. It gets even more crowded if Holland signs someone UFA this summer.

the point of "doing this" is because we aren't going to have room in two years for 4 defensemen. Ouelett is staying, but he along with the three RH'rs are all out of exemptions 2016. With re-signing Smith and Dekeyser by then that leaves 2 spots for for 3 defensemen that year. Rather than to be forced to trade one of them when nobody is going offer you value for them because if you waive him someone can get him for free. Getting high volume for him now for someone who has more exemptions lessons the log jam in 16. I chose to mention Santini because he is a high prospect that is also RH'd, a leader and expected to be a very good NHL defenseman. NJ is struggling right now and Marchenko is pretty much ready to step in to the NHL, he is an AHL all star and according to experts, he is our top D prospect. He could step in and help NJ and since he is a top prospect, it would lesson their loss of Santini. Us getting Santini allows us to spread out the D graduation to Detroit instead of having to deal with 4 players who cannot be sent down all at once.

with the log jam at D upcoming, I really do nit want to lose any of our Griffs for nothing. Marchenko is just about NHL ready, I would contact NJ and ask about swapping him for Santini. Marchenko would step right in the lineup for NJ as early as next season, possibly this season. Santini would give us a couple extra years of flexibility before he runs out of exemptions. They are both RH'd so we wouldn't be losing that and like I said, it would give us more flexibilty with the transition of our kids.

The kid is 18, I am not sure he would even remember watching Yzerman play, maybe the last couple of years Steve played. If anything he may change his favorite player to Pav or Z. But you can't blame him for rooting for the underdog's in Toronto. He probably liked them because noone else did, and everyone else liked the Wings. I agree with that too! It's the same idea, there is no reason anyone should interfere with anyone else's rights to free choice.
