That could be someting that could be addressed July 1st. If he were to sign now, he'd have to pass through waivers via entry into the NHL just like Nabokov had to. He may not get claimed, but why risk it when he could be had July 1st. I know about the log jam, but signing him to a 1 year deal would make for some healthy compitetion come September and as a last resort (although not a popular option) they 4 guys with exemptions can always go to GR to start the season. I know Ouellet is on the fast track to being a permanent Red Wing, but he has that exemption hanging over his head and could very well find himself starting in GR, especialy if Holland signs an "experiment" or someone like Petry. I don't think this guy would leave the KHL money to play in GR, so it would have to be NHL or nothing...and we know our history with those type of players...

In this order: Chelios, Modano, Hull, Roenick. Kane will surpass Roenick by time his career is over, but will still be behind Chelios, Modano and Hull. I am not saying that Kane won't finish with more points than Modo, but for a long time Modo played with some inept Minnesota teams, Kane has had a an all star team for pretty much his entire career. I love JR, but once he got traded, he wasn't quite as dominant as he was in Chicago. The same would happen for Kane, I am afraid, so he better hope he never gets traded. Also I would like to add that I think Kane is better than any of the other mentioned US born players...and no Lafontaine is does not belong on that list, neither does Carson. Chelios Modano Hull Roenick ...with Kane coming up fast.

Send him to GR and if he gets claimed so be it, if he clears, so be it, but our tandem is now Jimmy/Petr. Monster was an insurance policy to get Petr more time in GR and see if he is NHL ready...he is. No more amount of time in GR is going to prepare him anymore. Waive Monster and if he clears, then GR has a nice veteran goalie down there. If someone claims him, good luck wherever you go! No hate, just no room...

and God Bless both of them and their families. Suter is from Wisconsin, his in laws are from Minny. But when you are on the ice, everything goes out the door. I don't and didn't wish nor make fun of any personal tragedy. But when he plays against us and is losing like this, I will always rib him for verbally agreeing to play here, then choosing his in-laws. He chose his in-laws over a perennial winning franchise. He made his choice and God Bless him, but he chose yahtzee over winning.

don't need him and his head problems. Let him sit LTIR for the rest of the season to get his issues taken care of and see if he can come back next year ready...if not, then retire.

I agree, but Marchenko is future for any team he goes to. He would be a nice building block for anyone. There just is not enough room here for all if them. Not without trading Smith and Ericsson. Which won't happen, so in two summers, we will be forced to trade one of them or trade them. In two summers we'll have Krinner, Ericsson, Dekeyser and Smith under contract. Then you have Ouellet, Sproul, Marchenko and Jensen vying for three spots. It gets even more crowded if Holland signs someone UFA this summer.
