caught in a landslide...
-
missed entire game....crud. Sounds like a nice ending....
-
btw, in the replay, what was E doing? He wasn't doing anything, he didn't even have a guy covered. He just floated in on the play and watched it happen.
-
Well...hate to say it, since the game should've been over, but Kronner and E weren't aggressive enough at the end there. Not their fault but, Kronner has to take that guy out, not just reach for the puck. Anyhow, unfortunate circumstances stole a valuable point from Detroit...

whoops

lets hope the penalty whistles are put away for the evening...
-
well, would have been a nice goal...
-
I have always wondered what the point of Kronwalls face shield was...help protect his helmet?
-
I like how the Silverado commercial shows it pulling a blue Ford tractor out of the mud...classic.

Abby challenging Poo Bear Subban to a fight there? Did you guys catch his spear on Andy in that scrum?
-
who...what...wh...huh...who was that team out there for a minute? Was Q flexing up?
-
geez....Abby, if you keep this up, I'll never see Nyquist on the first line...oh, Z got the goal? Yay either way!
-
wow, you forgot Juck ******* Pott...
-
hate to bring it up, but they haven't had a legit PP threat since 2009...oh and ever since Bell Tire started sponsoring it...
-
these line combos are killing me... I sure would love to see Nyquist up with Pav and Z. Put the kid line back together and put Abby on the third with Helm...

...at least he isn't playing Cleary and sitting Weiss. That would be the telling point there! I hope baby steps are what we need for Weiss. If he could get that 50 point action going again, then that would be great! Lets hope we don't have another player that we keep saying "if he returns to form" with. I think its obvious that certain player is really struggling to re-become what he was in 08-09, and I hope the same doesn't happen to Weiss. We could really use him...

Bottom line is this is a business... Babcock and Holland see Miller very important to the bottom 6, hence if push came to shove the guy with options will be the one sent down, unless (as in Tootoo's case) the team is really not too worried whether the lose the guy to waivers or not. Nestrasil, they will NOT send down through waivers...I think Cleary would be waived before Nesty. Cleary would most definitely clear waivers before Nesty would...
-
Was it Nestrasil that was out of options? Oh boy, ya if that is true, I do not want to waive him either. Jurco is going to be the one to go because he does have options...either that or waive Cleary or Andy...

I'll take the 4-1-1 please...with a side of shutout. Aw crap! I said it...sorry!

Toronto Radio: Illitch is selling everything and Babs will be Leafs GM
LeftWinger replied to Wings_Dynasty's topic in General
Ya, agree....who'd a thunk that Gretzky would be a crap hole of a coach? I do think that someone like Larionov would make both a great coach and a great GM. -
I have said this for a long time with Franzen...maybe I am still bitter over "The Choice," but ever since he singed that 11 year deal, it just seems like he is nowhere near the player he was those two years and the player Holland (and us) had hoped he would turn into. He has been injured a crap ton since then as well. Probably because he is getting older every year and his body is breaking down, but it just rattles my chain to see that happen when all eggs were put in his basket to maintain his "Playoff Franzen" stature...

I do agree Babcock does things that makes me wonder, but again, is Weiss just that far into the dog house? I didn't understand the Chelios, Modano, Commodore, Tootoo or Legwand situations either...maybe it's just too late for Weiss. Once Babcock doesn't like you on his team, you're done. Makes me wonder if way back in the day, if Shanny left for the reason's he gave, or was there an issue with Babcock.

Holland off season was a failure, and I said not that I wanted him to pay the prices other teams were asking in trade, but that doesn't mean, once he lost out on his top targets, that he had to jump so quickly on Q. Like I said, he could have waited until later to sign him when he would have cost less money. I didn't bash the signing in that post. I always called him Francine or Franzia or Franzine when I remember to. I don't like the guy, doesn't mean I cannot appreciate when he does play well from time to time. I despise Crosby, and call him Cindy Lee all the time, but I cannot deny how good he is. If I were ranting about fire Holland, fire Holland, kill Q...etc...then I would agree I was bashing. But criticizing some things and the way they were done isn't really bashing. If there is anything I learned over the years, is there is a way of making a point without coming off like....well, like I used to come off all the time. I have toned it down tremendously here, all along while maintaining the same mindset towards the same players and the GM. Franzen (spelled correct on purpose) can score 50 goals, I still won't like him. It's just me. He could score 20 in two weeks and I will give him his props, and the first time he floats around out there and makes a few mistakes, I will nail him on it. Same goes with Q, K, Howard and E. It especially goes that way with the tire kicker. I just didn't appreciate to response you put, it had nothing to do with my post and like I said pretty much was just an attack in order to start a confrontation. If maybe you would have commented on what I actually said and then added the "bashing" part, that would have made all the difference in the world. But you can rely on one thing, there will be time when I do bash when I am upset over something, and then a response like that will be 100% justified! Until then, Let's Go Wings! Don't get me wrong, banned, I enjoy your posting and conversation, so keep being you and keep this place fun and interesting!

Dom brought us that Cup. I know we were star laden, but that Colorado series was all Dom, especially game 6 and 7 shutouts... well game 7 was ours either way, but that game 6 in Denver...all Dom. Thankfully he didn't play for any poser team who will also try to retire his number "just because" in order to get in on the celebration...ahem, cough cough, Colorado, cough, Bourque...Thankfully Detroit isn't like that.
