Double post sorry

...there should be a bounty out on the guy who crosschecked Jurco...whom also should have been kicked out of the game. these injuries are just too much to overcome, may as well throw the rest of the season to get a higher draft pick...thank you for 22 glorious seasons!

...maybe Legwand can influence a trade for Weber? I am sure Weber enjoyed his Olympic experience with Babs... Ok, I know.

Andersson breaks foot - down another center

Cleary... Our playoffs hopes are truly dashed if we are stooping to this talk... If the playoffs are a distant thought, I'd rather give Ferraro or Callahan a shot...Like stated from an earlier user, put Abby back at center and use CallaHAN OR BRING UP fERRARO. Or sit Bertuzzi, because he is useless and bring up both. May as well give them a chance instead of waiting until we are mathematically eliminated. Look at how our kids that are already here forced Babs to leave them in, could we luck out again? Franzen - Legwand - Nyquist Miller - Glendening - Alfredsson Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Abdelkader - Ferraro - Callahan ..sure beats the hell out of putting Bert and Emmy in there...although we all know that is what will happen... -
Wow.... "We didn't know Goalies were supposed to score goals..." so it can't be Howard's fault then! WAIT! Stop Everything! Rewind to 2003 first round sweep by Anaheim..... "It's Cujo's Fault!" "Cujo sucked here" "Oh God, please not another Cujo experiment!" ...any of those quotes sound familiar? Oh BTW, Fedorov was the leading scorer on the Wings that playoff with 3, yes T.H.R.E.E. points... You guys cannot have it both ways. A lot of this season is the team's fault, but a majority of it is Howard's crap ass below average play. He cannot control a rebound, gives up the VERY untimely goal and RARELY makes the timely save when it is needed! Oh, and lets not even talk about shootouts....BTW, Monster isn't much better...
-
I'd take Hiller in a heartbeat! Just say no more to Gustavsson....his grrrrrroin is worse than Hasek's!
-
yep and cannot ever make that one save they need at the right moment. D is struggling, but our goaltending is downright abysmal...
-
I too suggested the Miller acquisition. Seriously what has Howard done since losing Lids, Rafi and Stu? He has shown us just how below average he is. I say you package him and our 1st rounder at the draft. I know, NTC, who cares! Players can be convinced to waive it. Happens all the time!
-
Howard is absolutely horrendous!
-
he is horrible....take the glasses off.
-
screw jimmy Howard. He never makes the save when they need hum to! Bye bye playoffs thanks to Below Average Jimmy....
-
do players actually think it looks like they really fell into the net on accident? It is so pathetic looking.
-
dumb ass Quincey...
-
we can agree to disagree on that one. Jimmy isn't good. He is slightly above average at best. He has poor rebound control and rarely makes the big save when they need it yet gives up a bad when they need it least. He doesn't suck, but he is Osgood 2.0.
-
Detroit needs to sign Tim Thomas this summer to bump Average Jimmy out of his job.
-
Jurco and Glenny can start the season in Rapids. Dickie, no way Sheahan gets moved, especially not for Kesler. It is ridiculous to even suggest it. As well as suggest Tatar. Holland wasn't selling them last week, he won't sell them in June. We don't need Kesler. We need a solid #3 defenseman.
-
say what you want, but Legwand will more than likely re-sign and unless Holland doesn't want to give Weiss a shot, and buys him out or convinces him to waive his NTC, the two guys on the bubble are Andersson and Helm. Sheahan and Glendening have made both tradable assets. Only thing saving one of them is Glendening has waiver exemptions left.
-
so again, who is this Franzen and where is Franzine? Legwand was a great pickup. Expensive but we needed this. If we can string 6 to 8 of these games together with this much intensity, we'll be sitting pretty.
-
must need 2 points. We need around 94 points to guarantee a playoff spot. Start now!

Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd
LeftWinger replied to gcom007's topic in General
Never have I said Legwand wasn't a good pickup, it just cost a lot. If Legwand can remain consistent he will be a nice solid acquisition and help us make the playoffs. concerning the 3rd becoming a 2nd, who cares, we all know Holland is going to trade our 1st for two 2nds anyhow. So they will have two 2nds and get their 3rd back when we make the playoffs. Eaves just wasn't going to be part of this team going forward and probably wasn't going to be re-signed. This trade allows him to go somewhere and play every night. Jarnkrok will be missed, I think. We have so much young talent ready to make the jump in the next couple if years, are we really going to miss him? All that being said, considering what the top few guys actually got traded for, it was still overpayment, but its a position we needed to take care of. Today, with all our injuries, we are a better team. I still think Holland is overrated and we will see how he addresses our defense come July. -

not downplaying Jarnkrok or Legwand, but it was way overpayment. Holland is not a good GM, in any sense if the word... -

Holland gets fleeced again if its Jarnkrok. Vanek, Moulson, Hemsky, Gaborik all went for less. Fire Holland today! -
after all is done, both Vanek and Moulson went for pennies. Holland could've bettered Montreal on that one...
-
after listening to Holland on that interview, it sounds like he has something lined up if the news on Pav and Helm is not good. The guys on TSN seem to think Legwand would fit the bill here and I tend to agree. Even with all the big names out there, I think Legwand and Visnovsky would greatly improve this team and it wouldn't cost much in return. Legwand could also be re-signed and help beyond this season. Maybe trading Tootoo back to Nashville with a pick would get Legwand here.
-
The Mike Weaver for a 5th and the Hemsky for a 3rd and 5th could have made this team MUCH better than we are now... Holland is smooching the pooch today.
