But I know they are strapped by the Cap, so Sheahan will not be here. Maybe move Abby back to center? Frick Franzen being there...if he does play center, HE should be the 4th liner with Cleary and Sammy...

OK, if I am trading Franzen instead of using the buyout, I still maintain that there may be only ONE team that would be interested in his services. The Vancouver Canucks. Especially if Franzen goes to Sochi and just lights it up with the Sedins. Not saying that he will for sure be playing with them, but I am sure he will see some time on their line and when he does, he will show how compatible he is with them. I think, and believe that he would be lights out with them. On the Red Wings, Franzen score 25 goals, with the Sedins he tops 40. I know I have pined for Alex Burrows time and time again, but it seems he has lacked production recently and as I looked over their roster, I noticed that they have David Booth. Booth used to play with Weiss in Florida and could possibly reignite a bit of chemistry if they were reunited. His cap hit is under $4.25M so it isn't too much more than Franzen's and the chemistry potential with Weiss is more than worth the increase. Franzen's contract length is more than worth it to Vancouver for the possible chemistry between the Swede's out there. Sedin - Sedin - Franzen looks like a lethal line for Vancouver... Nyquist - Weiss - Booth looks like a great 2nd line unit for Detroit...it's a win-win for both teams. so, now on to next years roster I would like to see. you use the buyout for sure. Franzen and Weiss seem to be the two obvious choices, lets hope this "choice" isn't as bad as the last one! Bye bye Franzen! Also, you do not resign ANY of the UFA's. if there is a trade for a stud defenseman this season, it should be Franzen and Q being dealt...and forget Edler, we don't need another one of those type defenseman.

Geez that's a tough one....I am going to go with Offense. It seems that the Wings have so much trouble scoring goals. The current D is shaky, but it's also the same D that led them to the playoffs last season. I think we need to address the lack of scoring first and should do so by doing what we can to not dress the old farts...

Whether or not Quincey is the problem or if its our team, fact is Wings just signed another $4M+ defenseman, the market is going to dictate that Quincey get at least what Ericsson got, if not more, so for the Wings, that is way too much to have invested in a #5/6 defenseman. Both Kindl and Dekeyser are better and worth more to this team than Quincey, and I am not even that high on Kindl... This just upped the price for Dekeyser, thankfully he is an RFA. I can see Danny getting at least Kindl money, if not a bit higher... Quincey will NOT take a paycut to stay, so I think and hope it is goodbye to Q this summer.

Meh, $250,000 isn't gonna make me sweat too much...I hate it, but it's the market dictating these overpaid athletes...isn't this why we a TWO lockouts? We still need a REAL #1 guy back there though...Ericsson nor Kronwall is it. DeKeyser will be it in a few years, yet needs to stay healthy, so far he has been injury prone...

Fedorov would be no more of a waste of a roster spot that Cleary or Sammy for that matter are right now. So, given a choice, if I am going to waste a roster spot, I'd rather give it to the best Russian to ever pay the game, who isn't really THAT old anyhow, than to a broke down, hunk of crap that needed to retire years ago. Cleary has been useless for at least three years...Sammy, while we all know why he was signed, has been a hunk of crap too...
