  1. The NHL/REFS better not be responsible for the outcome of this game,if you know what I mean....
  2. Just look at all the fun Ryan Suter is missing. Think he is enjoying his in-laws right about now?

    trade idea for next year

I say let Patrick screw it up. If they don't draft Jones then Patrick and Joe have already put one nail in their coffins. They just better hope that Chicago is the hammer pounding that nail...

ECSF : (7) Ottawa Senators vs (1) Pittsburgh Penguins

It's no secret who I am rooting for!

    97.1 The Ticket: Hocketown "Dead"?

They are irrelevant to game 3 sure, but they are very relevant to the way the Wings fans look at the game 3 goal...just as much as that was a game changer for us, the no goal against Anaheim was a game series changer for them. Same situation. The Wings have suffered enough of those blown calls that they feel its about time they got one in their favor. That is why they aren't feeling sorry for the Chicago fans. Welcome to the club Chicago, we feel ya, but can't reach ya! Trying to get a Wings fan to change their mindset about this goal would be like trying to get a Chicago fan to change their mindset about their 1st goal...the informative fans probably say the same things about that goal as we do about theirs non-goal..."it happens, it was a missed call and Kane's goal shouldn't have even happened, but it did." They blew that call and they blew the no goal. If they would have called the penalty before Kane's goal, they wouldn't have gotten them momentum and the no goal wouldn't have even happened...It's my opinion if the penalty was called, the game ends in a shutout... BTW, refs blew TONS of calls all game long. I was particularly pissed at the flying elbow to Smith's chin in the 1st that wasn't even called a penalty NOR reviewed by the NHL...it was a headhunting BLATENT hit. But, he wasn't injured (or faked the injury) so it isn't suspension worthy....

    Report: Roy Appointed Avalanche Coach

Hey! Maybe he can get a couple of his players black-listed from hockey like he did to his own son! Patrick Roy for the Jack Adams! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amKozbaTU_o I love how the video maker highlights the parts over and over again when Roy says, I told him NO! Although on the bench he did the complete opposite.....
  7. I must have missed that prediction....ok in the past, he religiously picked the Wings to lose....even when they were the best team in the NHL
  8. Something was rotten in the NHL in 1999... Just swept the Ducks, won the first two in Colorado, then lose 4 straight? Something stunk about that and it still stinks...anyhow, I remember when Melrose was the coach at Adirondack and was pegged to be the Wings next coach behind Bryan Murray...then Bowman came along. To this day, Melrose will ALWAYS go against the Wings for that reason.

    97.1 The Ticket: Hocketown "Dead"?

^ This.... I find Valenti and Foster entertaining for other reason's than NHL talk. Very informative NFL and College talk. BUT that being said, they complain that they don't get enough interest in Red Wings topics and press the dial tone noise when making fun of the lack of callers talking about Red Wings... My opinion is, they do not enjoy talking about the Red Wings or the NHL, they RARELY have topics on it and have made their own bed with it. When I know that they really do not like talking about Hockey, why would I waste my ONE call per week calling them to talk about Hockey? I would rather talk to Caputo, Regner or K & A about Hockey, they are just that much more into it and are more knowledgeable about it. Would I like to hear hockey talk in prime time? Sure! But they have made it well known they don't like talking about it and then they make fun and say that we are bandwagon fans or Hockeytown is dead...if I am a bandwagon fan, then my ass must be nailed to the seat because I have been riding this wagon since 1979... They actually had an hour segment after game 3 about the non-goal controversy, and all Valenti could lament is that Wings fans can't admit that that was a lucky call going our way, we just would say that is was a no goal and that is it. When brought up several times that we agreed it was a bad call, but didn't care about the controversy because of all the Holmstrom no-goal calls over the years, all Mike could say that "we aren't talking 15 years ago when there was a rule about standing in the crease..." Well even when told that Homer was getting goals waived off even in his last year playing which obviously wasn't 15 years ago, he still would not listen to it...we are just whiners who can't admit the goal should have stood. Valenti, 99% of us agree it was a bad call, but s*** happens! We (The Wings) have lived with it more than any other team in the NHL and have forged through it! If Chicago loses this series and continues to belly ache about this one missed call, then they have a TON of maturing to do in this league! Calls are made and calls are blown...we have lived with it and they can too! OP, If you want to listen to good talk about NFL and College, then Valenti and Foster are the guys to listen to. You will get better NHL talk from Oprah Winfrey... JR put it best, the goal should have counted, but the first goal shouldn't have....and that my friend is why the goal was waived off, they screwed us on the first goal and when the second goal was even remotely close to being interference, it was called off... IT HAPPENS!

    Unsung Hero....Colaiacovo?

He has been solid. I mentioned in the GDT the same thing. With the growing pains that Smitty is going through, I can see next years 6 starters looking like: Kronner - Big E Q - Diesel Kindl - Cola Smitty Smitty will come around and by 2014-15, he will be in the starting 6 again full time...until then Cola is working out nicely...thus far.

Should we bring Tootoo in for game 4?

As much as I would love to see Tootoo in to wipe the ice clean with Bickell and Shaw, putting him in after the implosion of the Hawks last game would only show a sign that you mean to be more aggressive and that would draw unwanted attention to your team thus resulting in a penalty every time Tootoo even looked at a Hawk....
  12. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/ct-spt-0521-blackhawks-red-wings-chicago-20130521,0,2324297.story Hey Crawford, considering your first full season wasn't until 2010-11, I think you are just talking out your ass...btw he should watch this video....(from the other thread....)
  13. Parise isn't that is for sure he was never even offered a contract anywhere NEAR what he got. Suter, on the other hand, who had the verbal agreement to play in Detroit is damn well biting his lip at home right now... Ryan, just keep your mouth shut or the wife will cut you off...just take your medicine for the next 100 years playing in hockey oblivion. Enjoy that extra $80,000 you got from Minny. Oh ya, enjoy your in-laws even more since it was your wife that wanted you to play in her hometown. Have a ball! He could been a part of this growth on the Detroit defense. It sure would have made one of our guys expendable, and I am so glad we aren't strapped to that contract for 13 years, but ya, he probably feels a little upset... side story: I remember in July 2001, JR verbally agreed to play for Philly (before July 1st) and admittedly said years later that "Detroit offered me the same exact contract but I chose Philly because I felt they had a better chance to win the Cup...I didn't know they were going to get Hasek, I probably would have chose differently..."
  14. Dear Blackhawks Fans: Warm regards, now you know how we felt in 1993, 94, 95, 96, 99, 01, 03...sometimes when you dominate the league, you still lose. The only thing that makes those years bearable are 4 Cups!
  15. Hawks don't know what to do against such an average goalie....
  16. This season and playoff has been such a joy thus far! It's been a long, long time since Wings weren't expected to win anything. How fast that the last 21 years of dominance that spoiled most of us is erased in one half season and the new age fans are experiencing what us old timers went through in the 90's. A team growing together, losing together and learning to win together! No longer are the most of us spoiled....every win is a bonus, it's been a LONG time since the overwhelming feeling was if we don't win the Cup, we still had a successful season! I am going to refrain from calling this a rebuild or even a reload...I am calling it the REBIRTH of the Detroit Red Wings...
  17. A roster spot.... Need to let Cleary walk and need to keep Nyquist, Andersson and Brunner on this team...so Bert and Sammy must go.
  18. If no one is convinced yet, I am here to tell you that this series officially makes Sammy and Bert useless to this team... I am liking the solid play of Cola this series, so we can keep him around to rotate the 6th spot (Kindl?) But Sammy and Bert HAVE to be bought out...Especially to make room for Helm to come back... I am telling you, this team is a sniper away from dominating this league for another 20 years...
  19. Hey, I started the X posts thread and made it X=321 because I felt the Wings would win 3-1....ya me! I like how even though the Hawks had the refs in their back pockets all game, they burned their bridges with them at the end of the 3rd. BTW, I thought the Ducks were out of the playoffs? F'ing baby ass pieces of crap these Hawks are... Toews got his way with the refs not calling jack pookie on the Hawks all game long...Wings had 2 PP into the 3rd to Hawks 5. There was a PLETHORA of non-calls, Smith took a flying elbow to the head in the 1st, Abby had his stick hacked out of his hands on a breakaway, the Franzen non-call (even though I think he tried to play it up a bit.) It was a hit from behind and should have been a boarding call, but Franzen did embellish it just a bit. It's nice that even with the Ref's so obviously trying to give Chicago the game, the Wings still kicked ass... This may have been the straw that broke the back of the Hawks...They should know by now that the Wings are for real and just because they are the #1 seed and won all 4 games against us in the regular season and went like 23 games without a regulation loss means nothing to the Wings...
  20. Ok, I just got back from doing stuff all afternoon....I am assuming we reached the 321 posts for a win? Anyhow! 3-1 Wings! Lets Go Red Wings! We weren't supposed to make the playoffs according to MOST NHL experts....we were not supposed to win against Anaheim...we aren't supposed to be in the same rink as Chicago...This is already a successful season, every extra win is bonus and another serving of crow to the NHL experts... I hope we take the series, and I am confident if the team that showed up Saturday shows up every game, we will. Both Jimmy and Hank are having a Smythe playoff....

    Trade Smith ASAP!

If anyone of our D gets traded it will be Quincey or Kindl... not that I am advocating trading anyone, but if the Wings have a line a legit top paring guy, then Q and K are the expendable ones.... As of the start of the 13-14 season (barring a trade) your top four is: Kronner - Big E Smitty - Diesel Q and K would be fine for the 3rd pairing....#7 of course is Cola.
