    Kindl's future...

Ok, and I said just a few minutes ago that when he re-signed, I may have been like, whatever and actaully that is what it looks like I said. I also said if he becomes one of our top 4 if will ok, but NEVER did I say "Oh boy I like this signing! Go Kyle Go!..." Just because I said, blah, whatever, if he works out then fine, doesn't mean I like the signing nor does it mean I think he should have been signed and if you look before the actual signing I was dead set against signing him, unless is was on the cheap... I think I may have said $3.5 at the VERY most only because Holland is Holland... keep digging, you'll never find a post where I wasever happy or jumping up and down about Quincey or Kindl....

    Kindl's future...

That is fine. I was just trying to say I was questioning the re-signing of Q. I understand it was a business deal and since Holland did blow a 1st on him, I am sure he is going to give him every chance in the world to become that player...and you are probably right, he probably didn't get many if any offers from other teams...I think arbitration is BS, it just forces the teams hand into siging you are cutting you. Buy, hey, I guess that is why they are Restricted and not Unrestricted... I do agree with the business aspect. Both he and Big E were given big money (for their level of play) and Holland is going to give them every chance....I just don't agree with the re-signings to begin with....

    1/29 GDT : Stars 1 at Red Wings 4

Honestly, I would LOVE nothing more than for those two (and Q) to prove me wrong and become a force with this team. Why wouldn't I want it? Heck, we already own them, if they became stars, that is great! But I have been watching them far too long....I know better.

    Kindl's future...

I questioned the RE-SIGNING of Quincey...not the trade back then. Back then the trade seemed fine since he was a pretty good young defenseman, but when he took a dump here, he became more valuable to let go and receive a couple of picks in return.... If you read the post you above, I said Quincey should have never be RE-SIGNED and Kindl never drafted... Get yer head out of your ass and wipe your eyes... and even you can admit that Q has turned out to be a waste of a 1st round pick. So if anyone is interested, and I doubt they are, find a quote of mine where I EVER supported the Quincey re-signing, especially at $3.75M. I may have said, ok, whatever when they signed him, but I never liked it nor will I ever. I was willing to give him a chance sure, but he is playing worse than he did last season when he came over...if he had re-signed at less than $3M....I still wouldn't like it, but I could swallow it better...him and E are the worst defenders making $3M or more...and Kindl will never crack the top 6. I knew that day 1, day ONE...if you want to go back to a 2005 draft thread I am sure you will find how muchI voiced my displeasure... edit: Oh, and enough with your trying to pretend you are happy with this team. If you are happy with this team, I seriously question your judge of talent...

    Nail Yakupov Goal Celebration.

Meh, the celebration doesn't bother me...at least is was a celebration of pure exitement, not someone like this: although I get the "hot stick" referrence, it's a bit more over the top than Nail's.... Speaking of Oilers....not too bad so far this season and Justin Schultz has 5 points...that's only 2 points less than or entire D corps...it's early, but I think he will be a star and Edmonton will NOT get the #1 again...or 10.

Mike Vick's subscription with the ASPCA magazine... Bill Clinton's deal with Cubana Cigars... George Bush's Cabinet... Penn State's ability to recruit young men... BILLY BEER!

As long as Kindl and Franzen are on this team, we lose more than we win.... Stars 5-2... (4 PP goals)

    Kindl's future...

Kindl Should have never been drafted, I have hated it from day 1.... Quincey was a waste of a solid 1st round draft pick and should have been let alone to sign somewhere else as an RFA, and we should have claimed whatever draft picks we would have received.... Kindl should be dealt either in a package or just for a pick, sames goes for Quincey. These are two transactions that I seriously question what the hell Holland was thinking. Lashoff and Huskins are playing way too solid to let Kindl come in, and Quincey is just taking up space until White gets back...of course Ericsson is just as enept as Quincey... IMO, Big E, Quincey and Kindl should all hit the dusty trail once our D is healed. I just wish Holland would pull his head out of his ass! on a side note, I know arm-chair GM's are a dime a dozen, and if we really could do the job, we'd have the job, blah blah, but just because a lot of us don't have the credentials to land a NHL GM job, doesn't mean you or I don't know how to judge NHL talent. If I had gone to College for whatever I had to in order to land a GM job, I guarantee I couldn't do too much worse than a few guys already in that job....and I don't even own a copy of NHL13 or 12 or 11 or 10, etc.....never owned one...I believe a good 25% (at least) of this forum alone are a better judge of NHL talent than Ken Holland or his scouts...and that is a serious statement....

I also realize that I may have missed some players due to the fact that I used the team they were playing for when they were drafted (ie. Abby was playing in the USHL when drafted and then played in the CCHA) so I may have completely missed some kids that were playing in Canada when drafted and then went on to play in the NCAA somewhere. I also may have just listed when the played in US Nat U18 (Ryan Suter) although he went on to play at Wisconsin...like I said I used the league they were in when drafted...

Things that are better than the Wings special teams.

Things that are better than the Wings Special Teams: "We kicked the tires and decided that the right deal wasn't out there." "We need to get bigger and tougher and gritty" "<insert name> is our deadline acquistion" Others: The 40 year old Belle Tire girl that used to be hot when she was the 20 year old Belle Tire Girl... Closing the bar and looking at the only girl left, ordering one more shot and saying "f*** it!" Ringing up $400 in gorceries only to have your debit card declined....with 6 other people looking at you.... Traveling to Thailand and meeting a nice girl, taking her back to your hotel, getting hot with her, receiving a great mouth hug, removing her clothes and....WTF!?!?! OMG!!!! Then you hear the song in your head "I know all there is to know about the crying game...."

I don't understand why it was Brunner's fault. Where was the D? If the D was in the right position, Brunner wouldn't have had to attempt to get his stick in the way. I know Kronner was taking the guy with the puck but who and where was Kronner's partner?

    1/27 Red Wings 1 @ Chicago Blackhawks 2 (OT)

The Wings have played ONE good game out of five...are we able to start growing a bit concerned? They cannot string consistancy together. They should have been all over a tired Chicago team tonight and yet, even with all the powerplays, weren't. I will say it again, getting a point for losing in OT is absolutely stupid. IT waters down the other teams win, and the league in general.

Still maintain my list of tradeable assets.... Big E is horrible...Quincey blows...Cleary useless...Franzen stinks (yes even while having a goal) It was obvious that Chicago was tired and not all there, and Detroit who were well rested failed to take advantage. This team is in a world of hurt.

    Wings Looking For Defenseman

Speaking of Red Wings and defensemen, I always liked Steve Chiasson when he was here, and although he was the main piece in the Mike Vernon deal, I wish he was able to be part of that 1997 and 1998 Cup team...Speaking of Steve, on a side note to the Western v. Michigan game, it's nice to see his son following in his footsteps. Mike Chiasson, who was 8 when his father died in that car crash, plays of The University of Michigan. I am not sure if he has been drafted but he looked pretty solid last night before Western opened up the whoop ass... The Wings could use a defender the likes of Chiasson right now...I remeber Chiasson and Vladdy playing together as a pair and totaling destroying opposing players.

Nyquist needs to stay in GR because yes, he is lighting it up down there and that increases his trade value. If he comes here and barely plays and when he does get in, doesn't do much, he will not garner us too much in return. He will be part of a package to get us our Sniper

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

College hockey has made leaps and bounds compared to what it used to be. There is a reason a lot of good young Canadian/European kids choose US Colleges for playing. I do think though that there are still more scouts that watch the OHL compared to US schools, so you will get a lot more kids trying to go to the OHL to get "looked" at more. But you have to take your hat off to USA Hockey in todays world, from College's to USA Natioanal Teams in the way they have improved in the last 20 years. I would say the quality of play is similar/very close, but I think the more talent still goes to CHL (which contains the OHL/WHL/Quebec Major) for the exposure...AHL is just that, minor leagues of men who are near NHL ready or past NHL quality. edit: It would be very cool to see the NCAA Champion take on the CHL Champion in a game for fun....of course there are other leagues in the USA that develope kids very well too the UNited States Hockey League being one of them (Justin Abdelkader played for Cedar Rapids) Here is a link to a list off ALL Hockey Leagues around the world and as you can see the Canadian and USA list is vast: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ice_hockey_leagues#North_America

    Team next season?

Ok, here is my throw in of what I'd love on a roster next season... Bobby Ryan - Datsyuk - Corey Perry Alex Burrows - Zetterberg - Brunner Bertuzzi - Helm - Tootoo Miller/Eaves - Sheahan - Abdelkader Kronwall - Ericsson Smith - Lashoff Douglas Murray - Dekeyser Adam Pardy Howard Monster (of course Doug Murray is a UFA in San Jose, if somehow Holland could land that titanic human being, I would let Huskins go....but if not Huskins has done a solid job thus far, I would re-sign him to a #6/7 role) edit: My subractions are Franzen/Filppula/Sammy/Cola/Emmerton/Kindl/Cleary/Mursak/White/Quincey via trades/UFA/RFA or buyouts...
