Well, one game down and Franzen has done zipp to begin to win me over... I certainly hoped that our team was better than what we were afraid of last summer.....they look(ed) bad....real bad....

Tootoo got a Bettman penalty. Bettman knows why we signed Tootoo, so he told the refs anytime Tootoo tries to get physical, put him in the box. Cannot have the Wings at the top of the league anymore. I am of course joking, I think the Wings are doing a pretty good job of that on their own tonight...

true, but aren't the top 5 picks lottery? Holland would probably draw the 2nd or 3rd and then draft Hok Ptew, or trade the pick for a 2nd rounder and get Haken Luben. I am 99% sure if Holland had the #1 pick, he would not take MacKinnon OR Jones...

I was just gonna mention this....but I think Holland would use that pick to take another Swede or Czech or Swiss or Fin...just a feeling...or he would trade that #2 overall to get another 2nd rounder and then take a Swede or Czech or Swiss or some other small skilled player...just a gut feeling there.

I didn't say that the players are not repsonding, it was on the radio today that there was a rumor going around that Babcock has lost something with the players....not hate, but the coach is ALWAYS the first to go... Oh and just FYI, Mike Babcock is not Scotty Bowman....nobody is Scotty Bowman...there is a reason why Scotty Bowman has won so much. If this continues into the 15-20 games, Renney will be head coach...

Not only is Holland REALLY going to have to re-evaluate this team (I hope he doesn't stay content and just miss the playoffs for the heck of it) but if Babcock cannot get these guys to respond to him or respond to something, he will find himself out of a job. I hate to tell him, but Tom Renney wasn't just brought in to be an Asst. He was brought in to fill the gap if Babcock cannot get it done. I am not saying fire Babs, but its no secret that the rumor has it that the players have stopped responding to him...Renney will take over when and if Babs gets fired....

From the looks of tonights game, we need both...maybe someone to get a shot would help too?

Here is the "It's only December guys" guy....thanks for stopping in. Unfortunately, in the short 48 game season, every game counts, especially divisional. It's not that the Wings cant turn it around come game 20, but they are playing like a Pee Wee team out there. And so far, there seems to be no heart. Again, Franzen, Quincey, Mursak....no need to be out there...they are taking up space...

You mean you aren't happy that we traded a 1st round draft pick (#19 overall) for him? Then, instead of letting him sign with someone else and getting a 1st/3rd in return for him, we re-signed him for $3.7M for the next two years? I would have rather traded the 1st round pick for Steve Downie, whom Tampa traded to Colorado for Quincey, then we sent the 1st to Tampa for Quincey....I never defended this guy and he looks like garbage...

unacceptable....very unacceptable. Players that do not belong: Emmerton, Mursak, Franzen, Quincey. The rest of the team is playing like garbage. In reference to an above poster, I am not ok with losing to this team. I don't care if they are the best in the West. Right now, the Wings aren't even playing with the best team. I am not even going to blame it on rust. The Blues look mid season form, Red Wings look like soft Euros...

All I know is Ken said that he asked him how he wants it pronounced and he said he told him Brunner like runner...sorry, I am just going by what Brunner said, maybe all Swiss names don't have the same pronunciation....

Trade Emmy and Mursak a soon as possible...the Wings have injury depth in GR that can more than fill in (Andersson, Nyquist, Sproul, Ouellet, Mrazek.) They can afford to trade Emmy and Mursak and get a couple mid round picks in return. I too wish Holland would call the Iles about Visnovsky. Although that would bump Kindl out and would make Cola the 7th guy...oh well, nothing personal, just business. How about Kindl, Mursak & Emmy of Visnovsky + pick? edit: Buffalo waived Pardy? I thought they brought him and Ott in to add toughness to the team?

Well, if they put all their eggs in the Franzen basket and he performs like usual....they may be in trouble. Franzen needs to step it up and give 100% every game. If Franzen gets on a roll like in 08' then I think the Wings will be ok, at least to make the playoffs... I don't like the guy, but I've seen what he can be capable of, I just hope he does it. Of course if The Gunner takes over as Datsyuk's go to guy, then that is all the better! The question is, Is Franzen capable of 2008 again?

That is true and they probably would have pased on Robitaille as well....but I think that if everything else remained the same and the Wings sign JR instead of Luc, things would have worked out pretty similar...

Speaking of fighter on Defense....Geezus, Mike McKee played in 23 games for Lincoln and has 202 PIMS! He played in 59 games last season with 237 PIMS! I think he is going to eclipse that number this season.... I sure hope he grows enough at Western to earn a spot in Detroit within the next 4-5 years....(or sooner)

I know he is still kicking himself in the ass for picking Philly over Detroit....poor JR. He said that Detroit had the exact same offer and he chose Philly because he felt they had more of a chance to win the Cup....and then Detroit got Hasek. I still like the guy, but he sure made some poor UFA decisions...
