I understand the concerns, but Hudler has never come anywhere near 70 points or 40 goals, let alone 84 points... Semin with Datsyuk will find us our first 40 goal scorer since Hossa....Doan will chip in 30...Ryan could top 100 points here with Pav or Z... Yandle will be top paring minutes and should get 40 points there... Semin has seen a drop in production the same reason Ovechkin's did...they tried to change his game, here he will be let loose as the sniper he is... Yes I am being optimistic, but I can see it happening...but he needs to take about $4M in salary...or less.
-
It is intriguing to know that Doan agent has contacted the Wings several times...lets us know that Doan (if he leaves) wants to come to a winner...if he does it'll be fun to watch Doan get his first Cup before the bobsie twins do...
-
Ok, trade Filppula plus for Ryan....enough to gain Cap space...sign Doan, trade for Yandle, sign Semin & Mueller. I just don't know what the "plus" will be for Ryan or what Yandle would cost us....I think Doan and Semin will cost less than $9M together....
-
I agree that Nash is the obvious choice, BUT he is also the most expensive in assets...Bobby Ryan is the hands down cheapest in assets choice of the two...ANA wants a 2nd line center, perfect, Franzine is natural center and Filppula is a great center...they would lean towards Filppula because of his connection with Selanne, who then would for sure come back for another year because he has expressed before how much he would want to play with Filppula...I am just worried about the extras needed to complete this trade... Filppula plus what? in return for Bobby Ryan... Also, getting Ryan may help us woo Getzlaf or Perry if they choose UFA next year... I like the Yandle trade too, I just don't think we'd be able to get him without giving up Smith and we do not want to give anymore signed D away...If they would take Quincey in a package instead, that would be great! So, trade for Ryan....sign Doan....sign Semin...sign Mueller (to replace our lost center position) and trade for Yandle...

Holland comments on Suter & Parise going to Wild

Ryan Suter agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild
LeftWinger replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
What's funny is, three guys that could have won multiple Cups and would have been HUGE parts of a winning machine have all chosen to go to losing franchises in the HOPE that things get turned around by time they retire. Schultz - By time these kids get their act together on the same page, they will be too expensive for EDM to keep them... Parise - Not worth $7.5M, but Minn has proven year after year that they give up on their young talent when things don't after a few years....ex. Brent Burns Suter - See Above, plus Suter really wanted to be in Detroit but was convinced by his BFF and his in-laws to sign in Minny....this will be a regret he will never let them live down... I am sure glad Suter doesn't do roids...- 252 replies

Call Anaheim right now and package Filppula for Ryan...they like Filppula, and if they get him, they will also get Selanne back who would love to play with Fil. I would still give Jeremy Welsh a call to add to our growing youth, sign Semin, pursue Doan HARD! Again, give Carle a nice FAT contract....I hate to bring this up, but Holland has always wanted Kubina too...could be something he would do...- 252 replies

Ryan Suter agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild
LeftWinger replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
Suter can have been a part of our success for the next 13 years. He would have be an intricle part of our defense for the next 13 years...The Wings can a will win without him....unfortunately, he cannot win without us...if it were down to Nashville, Detroit or Minn, the obvious choice was Detroit....look at the track record, we never miss the playoffs, Holland has Iltich's wallet in his hand to make sure this remain competitve every year...are they Stanley Cup favorites every year? Of course not, but once you make the playoffs, anything can happen, and they make the playoffs....always....Minnesota doesn't. 3 appearances the last 11 years. ONCE past the 1st round... I don't need to quote Detroit's accolades in the last 11 years, but if ANYONE was or is worried about what will happen with Lidstrom gone, once Dats retires and Z retires....let's just look at what happened when we lost Yzerman, Shanahan, Fedorov, Hull, Robitaille, Hasek (the first time,) Konstantinov, Kozlov, Larionov....what happened since then? Conference Finals Stanley Cup Champion Stanley Cup Runner Up ...and then a couple of early exits... setback? Sure, but between 2002 and 2007 what happened? 1st round loss, 2nd round loss, 1st round loss... Point is, the history has proven that Holland will always keep this team competitive EVERY year. Ilitch has an open wallet up to the Cap, every year! Guarantee, they have a plan right now and if the feel the price is right, Rick Nash or Bobby Ryan will be on this team...if they chose the UFA route, they will pitch their best at Semin, Doan, Mueller, Winnick, et al... Sure Suter would have helped, but now they have to persevere and find that next guy to help. I'd give Carle $5M, inquire about Yandle or Bogosian or Bouwmeester... Holland will fill this team and will keep this team a perennial playoff team....history has proven this, and history has proven that Minnesota will not....especially now with half their Cap tied up in 5 guys...- 252 replies

LeftWinger replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
Bet it... Suter was coming here, but just because Holland knew Parise wasn't worth $7.5M, then Suter said forget it. Now when the Wild wins nothing in 13 years, he will be looking at Parise saying, I stuck up for your ass and we still don't have a Cup...Thanks! f*** off both of them....I hope they are happy with thier wives choosing their lives....poosies...- 252 replies

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Well tweet's saying there will be no decision for Suter today......come on! This is getting stupid! If there are 5 teams on your list, 4 of them have to move on once you decide where you are going! There are other UFA's who aren't getting calls because of this, there are millions of fans who will need blood pressure medicine now, let alone when you do decide....then there are the fans that have to make up the Hate signs to display when you visit thier arena's after you don't chose their team... I want you to be a Red Wing...but for the love of God, CHOOSE! So everyone can move forward!!!!- 487 replies

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Wow that would be a pretty empty team since there are only two players 35 and up.... Sammy @ 35, Bert @ 36....they have 4 players that are 31-33...just lost a 28 year old Hudler and got a 28 year old in Tootoo...Gustavsson is 27... ...if they land Suter he is 27, Parise is 27, Semin is 27, Nash is 27, Ryan is 24.... I understand you are mad about Sammy, but this is the youngest Detroit team since the mid 90's...and look what that team grew into!- 487 replies

LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Lost in all this, Helen St. James has reported that if Detroit misses the Parise bus, they will go hard for Doan on the 9th... I don't think Holland lowballed him...guarantee that Hollands offer was on par with every other "contending" team that made him an offer.... If there were teams that offered Suter $100M-$110M it was more than likely teams that HAD to offer him that much for even a consideration... ie. Bottom dwellers...- 487 replies
