Nov 6-GDT-Please We Don't Want No Scrub- Wings @ Sabers.
LeftWinger replied to The 91 of Ryans's topic in General
I am not sure which coach is responsible for the OT players and line changes, but when OT started and Rasmussen was out there, I was like, what the? Why not Veleno? Then as soon as the puck went into the Buffalo zone, he swapped with Raymond to get him out there with Bertuzzi. Ras was out there about 5 seconds. I like that attempt to keep the chemistry going between to Bert and Raymond. If Blashill made this call, then I give him props for making a very smart coaching move! -
Need to trade Zadina and Rasmussen soon while they still have "potential."

after reading the public release, it is also my opinion that Cheveldayoff should have to step down as GM of Winnipeg and Quennville should have to step down as head coach of Florida. Interested to see Parros' explanation of what "HE" saw with this... -

I really don't think Fabbri is going anywhere. He is part of this team moving forward. Honestly I think outside of a couple of vets, I don't see Yzerman trading anyone in the 25yo or younger range....at least not from the Detroit roster. -

Parros is an idiot. The non headbutt was indeed a headbutt. But he says it's not, because the hand was in the way. Doesn't mean the action and intent wasn't there. -
Making an NHL team out of Ken Holland's 1st Round Picks

Nah, you done good kid. -
Seattle claims Alex Barre-Belout. I am really sick of these expansion teams getting pampered. My God, look at Vegas, and now Seattle getting quality players when they don't deserve it. These teams need to go through the same sh!t the other expansion teams had to endure. Seems like Raymond and Veleno are here. But that leaves 15 FWDS, 14 with Vrana IR, one player must get the ax. Who will it be today?
-
Ok, I am over it. I am glad that, so far, Raymond and Veleno are staying!

IMO, any of Smith, Rowney and Namestnikov could've (and should've) been waived in order to keep Ryan. I don't get the Smith love. He is nothing. With this current roster, I see all of Namestnikov, Gagner and Stevens getting more playing time than Smith. Also, Alex Barre-Boulet is available via waivers, he is tons and tons better than Smith. It would also stink to fins out Yzerman passed on him in order to keep Smith. I mean, who makes these roster cut decisions? Is it Yzerman, or does Blashill make the decision? Please don't tell me it's Blashill, because that will be just one more reason to pile on the FIRE Blashill wagon for me.
-
Not to clog things up any more, but I sure wish Yzerman would put a claim in on Alex Barre-Boulet. He'd be worth waiving BOTH Smith and Rowney, plus Namestnikov IMO. I am still holding out hope for Bobby Ryan. Also, I don't like Veleno practicing on the 4th line Right Wing. If he isn't going to get quality time, send him to GR to get more top minutes. I am very, VERY angry at this. Smith will do nothing here, he should've been waived today. Ryan EARNED a spot here, Smith earned ZERO. I question this move.

Holland was not GM yet for the Shanny trade. He was acquired in 1996, Holland wasn't hired until Summer 1997, and I think it was after the 97 draft as well, so that one can be omitted I think. -
Here's to hoping Bobby Ryan gets a contract today! From what I understand, the final cuts are due today.....
-
IMO, BOTH Raymond and Ryan have earned a spot. As has Veleno and Seider. We'll deal with the roster issue when Vrana is back. Send Smith, Rowney and Lindstrom through waivers. No big loss if we lose one or all of them. Zadina - Larkin - Raymond Fabbri - Suter - Ryan Erne - Veleno - Bertuzzi Namestnikov - Mitchell - Rasmussen Gagner Leddy - Seider DD - Hronek Oesterle - Stecher Staal Nedeljkovic Greiss Obviously lines and pairings not set in stone, it's a nice problem to have when you can switch around these players and it will still work!
-
Probably told to take it easy? No need to get hurt before the season? It's not like he has to earn his spot anymore.
-
Gonna be a fun season guys!

Are they using different lettering this year? (NOW The Red Wings pre-season has begun!)

That was a helluva pass from 86, Brubacher.

Would anybody be opposed to working out a trade with Holland for Kailer Yamamoto? I'd say offer sheet him, but I think Yzerman would rather not cut friendly ties with Kenny. ...also, what's the holdup on signing some of these RFA's? Dahlin, Tkachuk? These teams have plenty of cap space. There's a few players I'd love to see on Detroit. What do you guys think about Patrick?
-
Ok, let's work on some PTO's now!

I was looking over some old drafts, and in 2002 The Wings drafted a Johan Berggren. I searched and searched, but couldn't find any relation to Jonatan Berggren. Not that it matters, but it would've been pretty cool to have these two related in some way and both be drafted by Detroit. Anyhow, carry on...
-
...but will you have the same username? OH! Sorry, couldn't resist! I think it would be awesome if he developed into a C. Anything to get us back to glory!

Donato has signed with Seattle for $750K. I think I would've liked to get him in this organization for that measly amount.
