Ok, just sayin though, I cannot understand why he never gets to go to the ASG...as great as he is...
-
Just sayin, this team has too many small skilled forwards to know what to do with. I didn't say anything about fighting, but 6'2" 207lbs. that hits and battles for position in front of the net, or clears the net would be nice, but we are talking about Ken Holland, so your guy will probably have a better chance of being here than mine...
-
If Zetterberg's name is in the rumor and the other name is anything short of Ovechkin or Stamkos or Malkin then don't believe your friend's brother's uncle who lives next door to Holland's bastard child's half brother's nephew, who just happens to bank at the same place as Kory Kocur...
-
5'10" 175lbs. Ya, that is exactly what we need...like another hole in our head.
-
a friend of a friend who near Holland....hmmmm, guess they spoke about this important matter over a couple of ginger pop's in the garage listening to Tom Petty?
-
Well, then think of it this way, if they play in Ann Arbor, they will BOTH be away teams....Hmmmm.... Wings...Leafs...Denard Stadium...oops, sorry thought they'd rename it by now, let me correct that...Loser Stadium. Man, the money generated that day will be more than enough for the NHL to support the Coyotes for the next three seasons! I also agree it should be held in the city of Detroit, but who would want to try to watch a hockey game in Comerica National Park? Too bad the Ford's felt they needed a covered stadium for the Lions instead of playing REAL football in the elements, then this point would be moot...
-
That will work too! Just as long as Cleary and Helm remain together. You cannot split apart your best checking line...you just cant! Damn You Babcock!
-
Gee, I wonder why Mr. Clutch never gets picked to go.... after-all, he IS the most clutch player in the NHL, right? Oh and that scrub Hossa, he never goes either....oh wait... But ya, congrats to Datsyuk and Howard. It'll be awesome to see if Dats and Hossa team up for some highlights like the time Hossa had 40 goals and Pavel had nearly 100 points that year playing along side him...sure glad Franzen is Pavs line-mate now instead of Hossa... But oh well, Mr. Clutch will prove me wrong! (one day?...maybe?...sometime?...soon?...please?...just once?) Ya for Jimmy, he deserves it and I hope he shines!

I am telling you, splitting up Helm & Cleary spells doom! PLUS the law of averages is working against the Wings as well?!?! They cannot win all the games left at home, they are bound to lose one soon. Couple that with splitting up the Ancient Chinese Secret and it may be a long, long night! EDIT: Also, no Commodore and Raffi is gonna be running our players? Sorry, but this may be ugly tonight...I hope not, but this lineup is about as tough as a Filet Mignon marinated in Montreal Steak Marinade overnight and drenched in Gravy....

Damn! My bad.... OK, so just switch Miller to the third and put Emmerton with Abdelkader... Franzen-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Hudler-Zetterberg-Filppula Miller-Helm-Cleary Holmstrom-Abdelkader-Emmerton Cleary on the 2nd line spells trouble....Cleary with Helm is the secret ingredient...Get it Done Babcock! edit: Damn injuries....OK, well, if Datsyuk is out that screws up the Chemistry these lines have, and if Mursak plays, he could slip into the third line and put Miller back on the 4th. With Datsyuk out, slide Zetterberg up one, move Filppula to center of the 2nd. Put Holmstrom on the first line with Zetterberg and Franzen and slide Bertuzzi down to Fil's line with Hudler. Franzen-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Bertuzzi-Filppula-Hudler Cleary-Helm-Mursak Miller-Abdelkader-Emmerton Viola, win for us!
-
I hope those projected lines are just that...projected. Dan Cleary is NOT a top 6 forward. He has proven where he is most valuable, damn you Babcock! Here are the game winning lines: Franzen - Dastyuk - Bertuzzi Filppula - Zetterberg - Hudler Conner - Helm - Cleary Holmstrom - Abdelkader - Miller ...anything other than that (barring injuries) then the Wings will probably struggle again. I like Commodore being in tonight. Even though I prefer him over Kindl anyway, but if Torres is gonna be running around, we are gonna need Commie out there.

This team isn't gonna change until they acquire that legit No. 1 scoring winger. A real clutch player, who is gonna do everything in their power to try to get that goal that sparks this team or ties it or wins it. Not just float around and expect that the puck should just go in for you... ...also, I know he was juggling lines to try to spark something, but dammit, Dan Cleary is NOT a top 6 forward. He has proven to you (Babcock) and everyone else that he is a great third liner, keep him there! I know with some of the injuries, changes needed to be made, but it's time to put Helm/Cleary/Conner back together. I am happy with the way Miller has played up there, but it's time to reunite our sparkplug line and also Miller and Abdelkader have nice chemistry going on, so they should be able to bring that back to the fourth line. Man, what this team would look like with Perry or Ryan on it! I am crossing my fingers for that day!

EXACTLY! I mentioned this is the GDT, that Holland in no way can feel comfortable heading into the playoffs with Conklin as the backup. If Nabokov were to become available, Holland should definitely call. I even mentioned that right about now, although Nabokov wants to be a starter, he probably wouldn't mind being a backup on a team like Detroit. At least for a few months. I know Conklin was solid a couple of years ago, but I think alot of people would feel better with Nabokov as the back-up for the playoffs... ...of course I got negged, but I think it's more because I mentioned the old trade proposal of Hudler for Nabokov...I guess people think that other teams are just gonna give us their players at the deadline, also I guess the Hudler lovers got their panties in a bunch over the audacity of someone saying trade him... Go figure! ...ya, and with the Law of Averages about to kick in for them at home (face it, they aren't gonna win out at the Joe, are they?) it would do much for his fan support (or lack of) if he were in net when or if their winning streak comes to an end...Just go with Jimmy.
-
Mr. Clutch shows us again!
-
Yep, figured it out! Somebody, even though they know Franzen is horribly horrible, they want to neg folks who have the balls to say he sucks...I got ya man! +1 for you!
-
Go back to March 27th, 2009 and I swear the same exact thing was said except it was "...if we can't beat the Islanders at home!?!?" and I think they were the worst team at the time. They beat us 2-0, and well, we ended up only a rescinded penalty, a non-call too many men on the ice and a goal post away in game 7 from a back-back Championship that year. Let the Isles have their fun tonight, they'll be golfing in February!
-
Here are a couple of observations.... I think the third period screams for Mr. Clutch to take this game over, he is after all, clutch....right? Also, anybody gonna go back to the Hudler for Nabokov sceanrio's from the off season? I do think Holland is not comfortable with this duo going in to the playoffs. Maybe he acquire's Nabby for that experience in the playoff's? I like Conklin, I do, but if the Wings could have Nabby backing up Howard come April, that would be nice. Something tells me that right about now, Nabby wouldn't mind being backup in Detroit, rather than the starter in NY. Especially come playoff time...where the Islanders won't be. edit: The neg.....ahhh, must be another Hudler & Mr. Clutch ball licker...They suck man, get over it!
-
Ooooooo give us a link!
-
I guess the only way Detroit can beat Chicago, is by cheating....from what I heard on TV...
-
Ya Mr. Clutch would be nice to see tonight...
-
a little late on that observation pierre....
-
ya but it like nails down a chalkboard listening to Olchyk. He is worse than bias.
-
why the frick is cleary on the second line? damn it babcock!
-
Hey, here is an idea, lets put cleary back on thesecond line where he has sucked, and lets put hudler on the third line where he has sucked. Hudler is playing good with Z and Flip. Cleary is great with Helm. WTF is Babcock doing?
-
and the whole point is we NEED a guy like that, Franzen is not a Sniper, if we are to acquire a Sniper, then Franzen is going to have to be in the deal. We aren't arguing if Franzen can score 30 goals, but, we want that sniper that we can rely on to score the ACTUAL game winning goal when we need it...
