I disagree on Filppula. He is coming into his own and on a career year. He has been easiest the second best forward on this team behind Datsyuk. If we are talking trade one of our top 6 forwards I would rather it be Franzen and Hudler going. Franzen, Hudler, Kindl then some prospects and draft picks including our 1st rounder. Those are the assets I would be shopping...
-
Well, considering the teams you named that are willing to give up a 1st rounder, it would seem if Holland was willing to give up a 1st rounder that he would get the better in return since it will more than likely be a higher pick than Boston or Chicago or Vancouver or maybe even St. Louis. I would hope that the Wings finish higher, but it really doesn't matter, because if you are gonna win the Cup, you are gonna have to learn to win on the road anyhow. Regarding making a move, I really hope Holland takes that huge jump and gets a top line player. Who that may be, I am not sure, but the names that have been surfacing would all help more than us losing a Hudler or Franzen would hurt. Perry, Ryan, Iginla, Doan, Parise, etc... I would love to see a huge move at the deadline, but would also be OK with a Hemsky or Moen and maybe an actual NHL defender coming here. I like Commodore, and I can stand Kindl a little, but they are both 7th d-men. IF Holland could score a veteran defender rental for a solid Cup run (Hal Gill type) I think we would be sitting pretty! Oh and all respect to Conklin, but if Holland can land Nabokov for the Cup run then I am all for it! If this team acquired Hemsky for a top 6 forward, Moen & Gill to shore up the bottom 6 and defense and of course Nabby to solidify the goaltender position. Then if it doesn't work, go for a revamp come July 1st which is on my wish list, a #1 defender to replace Lidstrom (eventually) and TWO legit top snipers...who or from where? Don't know. EDIT: DOn't get what part of this deserves a neg...as usually people won't explain or debate why they disagree.

I don't know too much about it him. I just know what my buddy told me yesterday. I would like for him to choose the Wings. You got to figure, he is only a Sophomore so by the time he gets to play in Detroit, he will be well over 200lbs. and will probably be a better skater. But, like I said, I really don't know too much about him personally, except that my buddy is now dating his sister and he told me that the Wings are really high on getting him under contract and he would love to play here too. But in the end, NHL time is what it is all about he will have to decide if he wants to wait to get into the NHL with Detroit in a few years or right away with a bottom dweller. I look forward to meeting him one day if my buddy thinks highly enough of me! LOL! (just kidding Jeff) But ya, maybe he can score some Western tickets and we could get to a game or two... I will post if I hear anything about where he may have signed, that is if my buddy hears something before anyone else...

I wonder if Ilitch is fine with the game being in Ann Arbor, or if he was just told by the NHL, either it's Ann Arbor or you don't get the game... I know he is gonna get a ton of money from the 110,000+ tickets sold and that probably swayed his mind just a little bit....

Another thing that could have the Wings on the inside track is his former coach Jeff Blashill is our asst. coach. Be nice to see another local kid get a shot at playing for his favorite team as he grew up.

Ya, considering it's the truth, it isn't really that far fetched is it? He text me and asked if my phone got youtube, then he said he watched the Notre Dame/Western game with her and sent me the link to the video above. He also said that she told him that Yzerman has said to him tthat he will see NHL time this year if he signs with the Lightning, which could tempt him to go there since he won't pay in Detroit until he is about 25. Also, when he appeared to score a goal last night and she better my buddy that he did, he told her that it was deflected, so she called Dan after the game and he confirmed that yes it was a teammate who got credit for the goal... You know, there are some people that know some other people crymson. I happen to work with Manny Legace's father-in-law so I suppose your uncle date's Manny's aunt then, eh? BTW, when his father-in-law gets tickets to a Wings game, we get card blanche. We get to park with the players, enter in their entrance, get to go into the Olympia Club and by the lockerroom. When Manny was with Carolina, and they played in Detroit we get to go down to the visitor's lockerroom a see Manny after the game. Can't go before the game because all day before the game starts, he doesn't talk to anyone, not even his wife and kids. And ya, that is something I learned from Manny himself. So Crymson, get off your horse.

If they go with the same lineup again, its gonna be a rough night. Guess babs believes he has a better chance against teams with kindl in, instead of commie, even though with commie, ericsson plays hellavu lot "bigger" so in reality, when he puts Kindl in, he takes BOTH Commie and Ericsson out Once again, split up helm and cleary you are gonna see what your gonna get...more of the same from last few games...I just do not understand.

Not everyone who likes Franzen are wearing rose glasses, and not everyone who dislikes him, dislikes him as much as me! I just like to stoke the fire when it comes to sensitive subjects like him, Hudler and Michigan Football to name a few...
-
I know...I am just fueling the fire. I make fun of Franzen all the time so I have to talk crap about him. It was a good pay for both him and Pavs... So you are calling me an a-hole just because I don't like a certain player? Wow, I think we know who the real a-hole is....Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself. What's next, to proverbial "go be a fan of the Penguins" line? Dude you can do whatever it is you do while thinking about your favorite player, but just because it's not everyone's favorite player doesn't mean you can start throwing insults around... It was a nice goal, but he is still FAR from the "Most clutch player in the NHL." This! He was in the right place at the right time of an impossibly "CLUTCH" play by Datsyuk. All Franzen had to do was keep his stick on the ice...nice goal, but the play was all Pavs.
-
Good on ya! Here is a question for you stat hounds. At what point of their career's did Roy and Broduer get their 100th? Are we talking sooner or later? EDIT: Nevermind...It tool Roy 4 whole seasons to get 101 and Brodeur 4 whole season to get 108. Good job Jimmy, only 2.5 season to get 100!
-
Not mad, just a realist. Sorry, you should know by now I do not wear the rose glasses. Franzen could score 1000 goals. He is still my least favorite player, next to little Piddler...
-
Just kidding...
-
Uh...... For a playoff run...yes. Just a rental. He'd be more valuable in the playoffs than Kindl...
-
This! Pav and Filppula are the most clutch guys on this team....hands down... I will take Moen and Gill for Andersson and Kindl.... (I dont think Montreal would though!) Do we have any French Canadiens we can offer them?
-
Easy whiskey...have you even seen any of the Stanley Cup wins? If you become orgasmic that easy, I'd say you should see a doctor about that problem... Anyone could've had their stick on the ice. Franzen did nothing but redirect a unbelievable pass by Datsyuk. I gave him as much credit as I am going to when he scored by being in the right place at the right time. Datsyuk was more clutch by making that impossible pass, but good on him...if he were as clutch as you want him to be, he would've got one of the stars, in which he didn't. Plus he is still not an all star...I give him credit for stumbling into position and having his stick on the ice... EDIT: It's true...Even Hudler could've stuck his stick on the ice...I am rescinding my credit to Franzen because of all the slappies here...
-
Not technically, but yep! Good Call!
-
Travis Moen to Detroit....PLEASE!
-
Ok ok, clutch goal, but Datsyuk made the play. I would say it was a clutch stick on the ice more than anything. Even kory kocur would've scored on that pass....clutch redirect!

what kind of guy goes to the bar with buddies to watch the game and drink (phu phu drinks btw) and texts about effervesence all night?
-
if one our guys beat on someone like that in front of net....nevermind that wouldn't happen...
-
That would require one of our guys to hit.
