I never said Datsyuk's shoulder never hit his face, but he did flop his back like he was ready to go down on Pete North. He tried to embellish it and the refs weren't biting. Not only did he flop his head back, he also decided he should violently bounce off the glass to make it seem even worse. That is a 10 on the Crosby scale of diving. Yes, Dats made contact with his head (not the principle contact though) and Jackman decided that he would try to get the refs attention by embellishing to play. I would say that could even be a Bill Laimbeer flop...

Abby lost the puck after he was clobbered. Yep he said Datsyuk APPEARED to and after further review, even you can admit the principal point of contact was not the head. Still a penalty. He was engaged already with Stewart as he was being stick-checked by him. Cole made a mistake and is now paying for it. It would've have been an interference call if it were a full body check.

Hey cprice, take a look at the third picture up top there, notice Cole is already in front of Abby, getting ready to decapitate him. You say Abby saw him coming and threw the puck around him as to try to avoid the hit and get the puck again...well what is that right in front of his stick? And where is Cole and his dagger of an elbow? This is the only time Abby saw Cole coming, when it was too late. Like I said, he saw a flash of blue and tensed up, that was the movement you and every other misinformed blues fan saw. Concerning your links of people upset about the suspension and not a review on Datsyuk, find me ONE, ONE story outside of St. Louis or Detroit talking about how since Cole was suspended, Datsyuk should have been reviewed...ONE. Just admit that you and the blues fans are crybabies and are still bitter over Detroit pouncing your team everytime they play in the playoffs. And yes, that type of play does get called in the corners. Two guys fighting for the puck and then another player comes up, ignoring the puck and just interferes with the opposing player by body checking him to the ice, its an illegal play and gets penalized a lot. This was a penalty even without the jagged elbow...

This is what I am saying. I am not saying do not celebrate your accomplishment, but all the staged antics and dances are annoying. IMO, any kind of "dance" or strange celebration outside of a fist pump or raising your arms up then hugging you teammates should be penalized in ALL sports. Score a goal, Homerun, Touchdown and dance around like a damn fool like you are bigger than the game then it's a penalty. I know they don't have penalties in baseball, but enough of the chest bumps and crazy handshakes. Enough of the endzone charades and dances and enough of the "salutes" and "discount double play's." Score, pump your fists, hug teammates, get congratulated and move on. Nothing ruins a great touchdown/goal/homerun more than the kind of stuff that goes on after. You never cease to amaze me with your "view" on hits and players. Can maybe for once you can just get over the fact that your team loses or your player commits something dirty without trying to drag a Wings player through the coals? If you watch the two videos, Abdelkader has nowhere to go and even if he saw a flash of blue coming towards him, it was at the last nanosecond and he maybe just tensed up. It's actually all stupid. Someone said earlier, sticks and stones etc... He does not need a suspension, since he used a racial slur and got caught, he will now and forever be labeled as a racist. For the players that are just like him, they wont care, but for the player (and teammates) that aren't, they will disassociate themselves from him and will alienate him from certain things they do together because they will not not want people to think that they accept him. He pretty much punished himself, he will always be remembered for this....and that is the sad part. It's gonna affect his current position with Florida and it's gonna affect his ability to sign contracts elsewhere. He dug his own grave.

I have nothing against Honda, but they could have come up with a scenario WAY better than this. I get what they were trying to do, and yes it's nice to see a commercial that involves the NHL that doesn't have the poster child in it, but this fails on all attempts. Pretty accurate description. Because of the knockdown you may have give him a loss, BUT the point is, Commodore did something that this team NEEDS, stood up for himself and his teammates. He was a huge net-front presence, he threw his body around as much as he could and yes, him being out there with Ericsson has made Ericsson a bit more physical. I seen E throwing his body around more than he has all year. THIS is what I meant by pleading with Babcock to give Commodore a legit shot. I hope he stays in the lineup for he most part, and no offense to Kindl, but I hope Ericsson keeps playing this way and even more. I am beginning to conclude that this may make Kindl expendable come deadline. Also, all you guys who were ragging on Miller, saying he is just a useless commodity, he doesn't bring much of anything to the game, well, even his toughest critics can attest that he has been playing awesome since Conner went out and he was moved up to the third line. Even Abdelkader has thrived with more ice time. I would venture to say with Miller, Helm, Abby, Eaves, Conner, Cleary and throw in Holmstrom along with whichever rookie is playing, we have one of the hardest working and best 3rd and 4th lines in the NHL, no matter which combo you throw out there. My only concern is who goes back down to GRR when Mursak and Eaves get healthy. No problem for Andersson or Nyquist clearing. But either Conner or Emmerton will have to go back down at that point and right now I'd hate to lose EITHER of them to waivers. I am glad that both Franzen and Hudler scored last night, but I am still tired of their inconsistency and would not miss either of them. But that is just my opinion,I do like when Franzen plays like the superstar he is supposed to be, but he is far from elite status. IMO he, Hudler and Kindl can all be offered around at the deadline, but I do believe Franzen is here to stay.

why? They both had 21 points the last 2 playoff's and Hossa is a much bigger threat than Franzen, faster, stronger and quicker shot. The last two and a half season's is just proof who the Wings should have kept.

Hey, but they have Franzen, it's only been 10 games since our designated "sniper" has scored. I would be surprised if he doesn't go at least 19 games without a goal.

No matter what, I will always despise Franzen and Hudler and will never get over the fact that they kept Franzen over Hossa.
