WCSF Game 6 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 3

in reality, what if Roy didn't use an over-sized glove to try to have an advantage, he may have been able to close his hand on the puck and not drop it. Thank Heaven there was no "Intent to Blow the Whistle" on that play, eh?

Wings Have A GREAT Chance To Win Tonight...

Not cocky, just stating truths. Notice I didn't say Wings WILL win, unlike the other guy who said WILL LOSE. He could've titled, Some Reasons Wings COULD lose and I don't think he would've gotten so much crap. We all know our defense is suspect, we all know McCrimmon has to go, we all know Lids, Homer and Drapes are old, but to most of us (and the rest of the hockey world) the positives outweigh the negatives. If our D sucked AND Jimmy was playing like s***, then I'd be a little worried. But that isn't the case. Even if the Wings don't win this series or the Cup this year, we ALL know, they will be back and better next year, just like they were every year prior to winning the Cup (sans 1997/98 repeat.) 01? First round loss, 02? Cup....07? Lose to Ducks in semi's, 08? Cup. This team is NOT on the downfall, they are on an upswing, if they don't win it this year, they are a couple of players away from doing so soon, VERY soon! San Jose started to unravel in game 4. They eked out wins in game 1 and 3 in OT, despite outplaying the Wings. Then when they couldn't get the job done in game 4, they resorted to gooning it up a bit, which never works with the Red Wings. Then their Powerplay went flat in game 5, (or did Wings kill get better?) The pressure is on Sharks, they DO NOT want a game 7, not with the Wings experience...

Damn I forgot Jimmy, sorry, I got so carried away with my list, I cut it short so not to be called a Homer! I will fix it!

Interesting trade idea - Alexander Semin

Sheesh, that seems to be the knock on a lot of players in today's NHL....I am just looking at a pure sniper. Maybe he just hasn't been able to be on a good, err...GREAT team in the playoffs yet... oh come on, Geez, looking at his stats, he's only been in the playoffs twice, once with ATL he had a goal and a asst in 4 games, and then last year with New Jersey where he had 6 points in 5 games, so in 9 total games he has 3 goals and 5 asst. That really doesn't constitute a playoff choker, besides the fact that he hasn't really had a chance to consistently be in the playoffs, PLUS play besides his buddy Pav? I'd take the risk... (but, again, Holland would't take on that long contract, or would he?)

Interesting trade idea - Alexander Semin

While we're putting together lines that probably won't happen, but would like to see, here is an idea... Filppula-Datsyuk-Dupuis Franzen-Zetterberg-Talbot Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi Holmstrom-Abdelkader-Eaves(or Miller) Mursak Lidstrom-Rafalski Stuart-Kronwall Wisniewski-Ericsson Janik (or Smith) Howard Nabokov plus a NEW defensive coach... Hudler and Kindl get traded for Nabokov/draft pick.... Or if New Jersey would trade us Kovalchuk, I'd send them Hudler and Fippula and then Kindl/pick for Nabaokov. Scratch signing Dupius and Talbot.... Kovalchuk-Datsyuk-Franzen Cleary-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi Mursak-Helm-Eaves Holmstrom-Abdelkader-Miller Emmerton Lids-Rafalski Stuart-Kronner Wisniewski-Ericsson Janik (or Smith) Howard Nabokov ...and if the Cap goes up by $5M-$6M, both of these teams leave plenty of cap space for call ups or Trade Deadline... (although, $6.6M isnt high for Kovachuk, I don't think Holland would acquire a 15 year contract...even though he would destroy the league playing next to Datsyuk)

    Is Brad Richards an option?

I am telling you, Chicago dosn't want that LONG ass contract, not sure he'd get traded here since it would help us keep Chicago going down the spiral... anyone know what Chicago would be responsible for and how long if they bought him out?

    Mike Modano Time

yet, Drew Miller gets in....and Howard is still starting...as is Abdelkader and Rafalski...but I heard the same thing, maybe it was just Chelios he hated...

Am I aloud to mention him? Hmmmm.....shhhhh, I will whisper............................ hudler I don't expect many to agree with me, but I hope he's OUT! If Babcock dresses him instead of Modano for Franzen? You get the point. Just let me have my one day of

Everytime I see it! "I wish it was Kronwall I was lined up against" -Ryan Clowe. Well, Clowe, at least you didn't flop like your "Leader." I wonder what Don Cherry thought about Thornton's "reaction" to a tap on the leg. Cherry gets all googlied-eyed when he talks about how much of a Fine Young Example of a Canadian Hockey Player Thornton is....What do you think Don?

Here is a nice thought, if it weren't for two OT stick deflections, Wings could've have won the series already 4-1. Even with the Stick deflections, Sharks still only have 3 wins...

NEGATIVE! Keep it close, don't embarrass them. Don't give them any fuel to injure our players. They have already shown they cry like babies and want to pull hair and slap after they lose. Reminds me of the Ducks of 2008. Glad to see a diving penalty tonight!

Well Steve Yzerman was a rookie on 1983-84 and Bowman got here in 1993-94, so that was 10 years of Stevie leading this team alone. It wasn't all failure before Bowman (of course you don't want to count two straight trips to the Campbell Conference Finals in 1986-87 and 1987-88 do you?) Ya, Sharks bounced us to the golf course in 1994, and we did get swept by the Devils in 1995 in the SCF, but you left out a little bit of information, on our way to the SCF there was a team we met in the Conference Semi's, can't recall who it was, hmmmmmmm, oh yeah, it was those same Sharks that bounced us in 7 games the year prior, only this time those Sharks were bounced in a four game sweep. That must have slipped your mind? DO you happen to realize that the Red Wings are younger on average this year than 2008?

    Changes for Game 5

SO, here's what we have come to, most people say Hudler and Draper should be out, and about half say if Franzen is that hurt, then he should sit. Of course, we are all glad that Scotty didn't sit Stevie in 2002, but then again Franzen is no Yzerman. So: Hudler out for Modano? Draper out for Miller? Franzen out for Mursak? What about Tatar? Think he could add some mystery to the game? Sharks have never seen him, maybe he could surprise them? I dunno.... That would be a big lineup change, 3 guys out. If you had to make ONE change and ONE change only, who would sit and who would play?

You guy don't know how much I love seeing all these projected lineups WITHOUT Hudler in there!

    Clowe suckering Abdelkader

Well, Clowe sure got his money 's worth for only a double minor. He wished it was Kronwall? Why because he his upset that Kronner LEGALLY destroyed "The Murderer"? I say put a nice cross check to Clowe's throat if the game gets out of hand, or how about a home-run swing to the back of his neck? Or a butt end to his face? Sucker punch? No, but it was his intent to goon it up and he did FIGHT. Dropping gloves and landing punches is not roughing, it's fighting. Just another example of the refs not having the BALLS to make the right call and the NHL not having the BALLS to impose the correct discipline. Same Malkin, the refs made the right call, THEN rescinded the call so the NHL would not have to suspend him. I have no doubt that a call was made by the NHL to rescind the instigator. Whatever, it's all under the bridge, but it goes to show how inconsistent the officiating is in the NHL... Hey Clowe, how about you line up across from me for one face off? I ain't gonna fight you, but my Aluminum stick will look great up side your ******* fat head! Hey ***** Heatly, you still cry-babying over a clean hit? By the way Danny Snyder says hi...
