But then you'd be calling his father an ass and there's no need to bring family into this! back on topic, after all the dives and flops this kid has done to embarrass himself and the Pens and the league, its about time he feels what its like to have a REAL injury! That being said, I don't want to see his career end this early, so here's to him getting healthy eventually. So, using that theory, lets not give any of the 9 goalies ahead of Osgood ANY credit. Especially those Broduer and Roy characters, just look at the teams they played for, hell, my Gramma could've won in Colorado or New Jersey... Believe you me, you guys argue over trading for a goalie at the deadline, but if Osgood and Howard are both playing subpar, Holland will make a deal for a goalie if the right one is available. He went into the playoffs last year with a Rookie and a vet who was playing bad, you see how far that got them, he won't make that mistake again. SOmeone said it best in the Leighton thread, the NHL is about winning NOW, and if Lids does hang em up next year, Holland will want his best chance THIS year to win it. No, not before Jerry Piddler at least. Piddler is the worst player to put on the Winged Wheel since Miroslav Frycer. This guy is a disgrace to our team, our city, our country, North America, as well as his family, his hometown, his country, All of Europe, the whole Eastern hemisphere, the World, the solar system AND the entire Universe... seriously. yep! that is why whenever a thread pops up asking our opionion on which Cup was the best, 1997 is ALWAYS us old-timer's answer! I actually had tears in my eyes when Stevie raised that Cup. I remember it well. Actually Yzerman only had 42 points and was a -24. Fortunately the next season is when everything started turning around for us. Too bad our first overall pick in86 was wasted on Joe Murphy. Could've had Vinnie Damphousse or Brian Leetch. In the end it worked out though, because Murphy got us Carson, who got us Coffey, who got us Shanahan, so in a round-about way, that 40 point season was worth it!

Time to trade Hudler and get his waste of cap hit off the books and bring a center that is actually going to help us get through this... What's Fedorov doing? Fedorov will always be better than Hudler.

exactly, which was my original post. Sure, Bud screws up some names, but there are SOOOO many analysts, announcers, color guys out there that do it too, CONSISTENTLY. My thing is is, what else do you have to do but study these guys names? I wish I had that job.

Sorry, just because he is old and been around the team for years and lost an arm, doesn't mean it isn't time to move on. My grandfather was in WWII, he did and saw things that you wouldn't believe nor want to hear about, but if I cannot understand what is slurring out of his mouth, I don't wanna listen to him try to talk. But I do love him and I appreciate everything he has done in his lifetime (same with Bud(except the love part.))

for as longg as I have been a fan, and as many games as I have gone to, three things I got to say are getting way old. Bud Lynch, Karen Newman & the SAME OLD CRAP MUSIC. Ya, and of course he has said it a zillion times without the N, but he always mispronounces names, he always called Kozlov and Fetisov with the Long A, and he ALWAYS butchered Tkachuk's name. But to his credit, he does pronounce a lot of names right. (and he is a fossil, so what else can you expect?)

I agree, not that I can't stand him, but he does need to retire, hang em up so to say. I absolutely hate a analyst, color guy or PA announcer who doesn't pronounce the names right. Sure, there are some hard, but WTF else do you have to do besides learn the players names? Here's a concept, talk to the players during the day and ask them how to pronounce it. then write it down phonetically.
