many of other players and coachs/GM's called Vlady the dirtiest player in the NHL back in the day, does that mean you dislike him? You are entitled to your opinion as well. I would much rather have a team with Vlady and Pronger on the blueline than Crysby & Karyia up front.... but that is just me...

If Modano hadn't yet won a Cup, I'd say bring him on! But if the Wings were to be looking for that one vet who it'd be someone who has won everything BUT the Cup. There is just something about those type of players that when given the golden opportunity to be on a contender, they seem to play above and beyond, perhaps knowing this could be their last chance! I'd be more apt to aquire someone like Craig Conroy or Keith Tkachuk...

Show us where he went after Stevie's Knees. If you are referring to the St. Louis series, then you are wrong, he tried to run Steve into the boards and Steve ducked causing Pronger to injures hiself. Correct me if I am wrong, but Brian Burke was the the one who said it was physics that casued the injury, not Pronger. Like it or not, Crysby is the face of the NHL, but Ovechkin is the King. You don't see Alex flopping around like Cathy Lee does, and if we're talking if I had to choose which one of Crysby or Pronger I would rather have on the Wings, it would be Pronger hands down (and elbows up!)

talk about laughing hysterically! Kronwall? He can't keep healthy enough to become number 1. Ericsson, maybe, but he has to play with Rafi and Stuart for the next three years. During that time, Stuart WILL be our #1 defensman. Kindl? Kindl? kindl? This season half of our defensive corps were griffins and he couldn't even keep a spot here! Kindl is a bust and will never be higher than a 5 or 6 on this team... Lidstrom needs to retire or resign for CHEAP. We need the cap space to try to better this team. I didn't say Lidstrom sucks,I said he needs to hang em up. He'll be 40 in April and he is showing his age a bit. Great if he comes back for cheap, but if he dilly dally's around too far past July 1st, he'll be doing nothing but screwing Holland out of quality UFA's. The Wings need a sniper. The reason I said Hudler won't be back is because someone said he'll be back next year. I simply said not for less than half of what he is making now minus taxes as well. He's making US $5M TAX FREE and he was only awarded what, $2.7M? then take taxes off of that, ya, sure he'll be back next year... Ok, go back to laughing hysterically. It IS entirely possible to offer kovalchuk $8.9M which is what Crosby makes. If he wants more then good on him, but if he would accept it while being the top paid Red Wing, that would leave $4-$5M to re-sign our other FA's. We'd have to bid farewell to some, including Lids, but he is gonna eventually retire, Kovi is only available once, the next contract he signs will probably be one of his last, if not the last one, unless he does a 1 year and out signing somewhere. ok, I will take him. What would it take to get him? People comparing him with Lebda. Difference? Lebda career on downswing, Johnson on the up still. He could be a nice fit with a third pairing with Ericsson. Maybe try to aquire him after the season. Not sure the Kings would deal us something that would help us considering the current playoff race going on, but maybe in the off season. Johnson would be awesome on the Wings.

not only that, but with the apparent battle between himself and Babcock, will he see enough games this year to get his 400th? He only needs 4 more wins, I certainly hope Babcock plays him enough to get it and hope he performs well enough to get it! He deserves it....

Miller, 100%! Leino may be good in Finland, but he has busted his opportunities here. For Pete's sake he was given a #1 line spot for a few games during the peak of the injuries and he couldn't hack it. He will be the healthy scratch, if Babcock was gonna put him on the third line when all players are back healthy, why wouldn't he be playing now instead of Miller? Miller is better that's why... (at least here in Detroit he is....) Unfortunately someone is gonna sit, Abdelkader, Helm, Miller & May are ALL on two-way contracts so take your pick to which one(s) go to GRR to make cap room when Franzen returns. Leino won't get demoted, but if they can fit him under the cap, Miller will be in the lineup while Leino sits. From a business standpoint, you cannot lose Leino to waivers, so you'd have to demote Abdelkader first since their salaries wash each other out. Nothing personal, just business...

No. Not as long as the Sharks are up top. Re-sign Bert/Eaves/Miller and then make a pitch for Kovalchuk. Lids retires, Homer retires, Maltby retires. Maybe score a mid-range defenseman with your top 4 being Rafi/Stuart/Kronner/Ericsson. Kovalchuk WAAAAYY better than Marleau...
