as long as we have the added cap space, why not bring some other D up? Sit Meech, and play Kindl a few, Kolosov a few, hell, maybe the diamond is waiting in GRR and when its all said and done, BOTH Meech and Ledba can be traded for a 4th round pick...

they need to prove to me that signing Williams and Eaves over Moen and Malhotra was the right thing to do. Fire McCrimmon! We've been screaming for this since last year! May be time to find a quality goaltender that OSgood can back up. There are rumors of Biron, but not sure if he is the answer, what about Vokoun? Is he past his prime? Might have to package off Kronwall to get a quality netminder. (still think we should've have traded him + hudler + picks to Tampa for the 2nd overall pick and drafted Hedman. Ahh hindsight...) Listen, Williams an Bertuzzi didn't work before, what makes you think they'll work now? Bertuzzi isn't even a shadow of himself, its obvious the Moore incident has affected his mental game. All summer long people have screamed for certain players, none of which were signed (of course we aren't GM's, bu there is a lot of hockey knowledge out here and it's not like you have to get a degree in GM'ing.) Just because we don't have a job in the NHL doesn't mean there aren't smart hockey people out here. Right now, Moen and Malhotra and yes even Tanguay are looking way better than what we have... Sure glad we signed Zetterberg and Franzen to career deals, Zetts is pooping and Franzen wont play until June... Lids is looking WAAAY too human anymore, maybe he should hang em up after this season. Its early, long season ahead, but I remember a certain 1989-90 season where the WIngs went 12 games without a win and never recovered (the last time they missed the playoffs too.) I am not saying that will happen, but it is hard to stp the bleeding after a while. Lets hop they run off about 6 or 7 wins in a row to help right this ship, if not, we are in for a VERY long season....

"Where have you gone Stevie Yzerman our nation turns its lonely eyes to you, Woooo ooo ooo, God Bless You please Brendan Shanahan, heaven holds a place for those who pray, yaa aaa aaa, Coo Coo Cachoo Sergei Fedorov..." This is not your fathers hockey team... Fire McCrimmon, he shouldn't have made it thru last season...
-
how long until they fire McCrimmon? His defense and penalty kill sucks! ANyone know whay Barry Smith is doing now-a-days?
-
LOL! I agree!
-
yeah, and oh the nicknames you can think up with him! Well, since my first two choices are officially on the roster (Abby for now) I will go with Kolosov
-
you better pray to another God, because Osgood is signed throught the 2010-2011 season...

A long time now, Marty has been rumored to be in the interest of Holland and the Wings. It seems that every year his name comes up, well, I for one, would welcome him here, no offense to Howard, but Biron at least he has veteren experience and has gone to the Eastern Conference Finals before. Probem is, I am not suer if he is too expensive for our cap. With Franzen out, sure, he'll fit, but Franzen will come back around the trade deadline (yet another no move deadline coing up) so we'd have to make room for Franzen. According to capgeek.com Biron makes $1.4M I would think, for Holland, that is pretty expesive for a back up to Osgood, but then again, Howard is not even a good back-up, so if he were traded to the Island that wouls only open up his salary, with u needing aprrox $700,000 more. I dont see how it could happen, without trading away another player. Biron - $1.4M Howard - $716,666 Meech - $483,000 ...even trading Meech doesn't create enough room for Biron (when Franzen returns.) You'd have to bring up another defensman and Meech makes the least of all the defensemen in the system... Dunno...

Time to bring Fedorov home!

Get It Done, Kenny!

Well, since the NHL is losing money (so the higher-ups want you to believe anyway) I highly doubt any NEW teams appear, so the question is, which current teams move to Quebec, Hamilton & Winnipeg?
-
Yeah, but very NOT WORTHY of wearing #24.... WTF happened to #20? Bob Probert, Chris Chelios, Brad May? No......
-
at 5:50ish, "What A Move Around Hudler" you suck Jiri! What the hell were you thinking? So glad you're gone! Tonight, Go Wings! 4-1 Win for the Wings!
-
Ok, lets say, Detroit needs a Tough Guy, maybe not a flat out Enforcer, but a tough guy who isn't afraid to drop the loves and can actually win a fight once in a while. Brad May does fit that description, but if Holland would have just signed Moen and Malhotra instead of Williams and Eaves, he wouldn't have had to give May a tryout and this team would have three "tough" guys in the form of Bertuzzi, Moen and Malhotra. Toughness, IS needed on this team...

Bettman has said if any team moves West, Detroit would move East, but he has been known to RESCIND things before. That would be awesome, to have a division with Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Rangers, Montreal!
-
Yes, I remember the Detroit or LA question, Wayne actually wanted Detroit. afterall, his Idol played there, but yes, ANY trade involvng Gretzky would have most certainly involved Yzerman going to Edmonton. At the time Carson was scoring at a 50 goal pace and the only player we had scoring that was Yzerman. This may be biased, but I think we made the right choice keeping Yzerman, for all the points Gretzky put up, Yzerman was the better leader and we benefitted from that more so than his point production (which went down after Fedorov arrived.)

Well, Moen signed for $1.5M and so did Willimas, Eaves signed for $500,000 and Malhotra signed for $700,000. I know Kenny is the man, but correct me if I am wrong, but aren't Moen and Malhotra the exact type of players Holland keeps saying he needs? Moen is WAAAAAAAAY better than Williams and Malhotra is WAAAAAY better than Eaves. I just don't see the reason behind NOT chosing these guys over the ones he signed...
-
We need May, and also we should have spent $3.7M on Bertuzzi, Meon & Malhotra instead of $3.5 on Bertuzzi/Williams/Eaves.... Just my Opinion... Holland knows best...
-
Well, just noting that Travis Moen has 2 goals and Jason Williams has none.... We could hav been improved by siging Moen to $1.5M instead of Williams. Oh yeah, Moen aslso has 12 penalty minutes, 10 of which are for fighting... I am still hoping Williams works out, but I sure would have liked to have Moen instead.... (oh yeah Malhotra instead of Eaves too, but we'll see what Eaves does when he gets in.) Also, fire McCrimmon.... Chelios needs a job....
-
Over the summer did Holland say or defense was set? Uh-oh!
-
Same exact reasons why lost to Pitt in the Finals. Nice to see they worked on that over the off season. No, they won't be able to, Brad McCrimmon should've been fired after last season, also you need the right players to win, sure glad they signed Williams and Eaves, and opted to keep Howard....
-
Thank you, I know that I am.... Oh, you didn't mean the best TWO-WAY talents in the History of the Game did you?
-
on a side note, at least you got a Football team to enjoy! 1-19 Go Lions!

I don't disagree that he is one of the best players in the world. Does that mean he is larger than the game and skates by a different set of rules than everyone else? The rule is not a technicality, it is cut and dry. Malkin suspended, Wings win game 3 and probably the Cup (not saying for sure that the Pens couldn't come back from 3-1 either.) Bettman helped Pitt win Cup by recinding the suspension, which is cut and dry and if it were a lessor of a player, would have been upheld...

is it me or does Domi look like a Downs Syndrome kid out for a Make-A-Wish skate with his hero?
