Hmmmm, wow! First of all, your quote wasn' even my post, so I don't now where this came from. Second I don't recall you laying into me in a previous thread, the only response I remember from to directly to me was another time where I mentioned a long term deal for Hudler and you responded "Long Term Long Term!" if that is laying into me, then wow, we now know why that Alaskan lady ruined the Presidential bid for the Republicans, don'tcha know! BTW, no I did not vote for the illegal immigrant that ran for President. lets see, what else. I really don't recall attacking you personally or telling you to change your name, crazy, but I do believe you have me confused with someone else. I made this thread because I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas of re-signing Hudler but by not raping our Cap. AND if you do recall, I did start the thread called "If you think Hudler is NOT worth $3.0million, think again." In which I gave plenty of reasons why Hudler IS worth a raise, but givin our limited cap space, he is not worth $3.0m here. And he should take a page out of the superstars books here and re-sign for a lot less than his market value so Holland can ice the best possible team. I think maybe you should scan through your posts and reminds yourself of who you were yelling at before, because it wasn't me, but I am glad I got your attention because you were one of the folks I was hoping would come up with a great plan to keep Jiri here without raping our cap. Wow, maybe your 6'0 husband should help you with the panties that are i a bunch and while he's down there, relieve some stress. I started this thread in support of Hudler, only to find that everyone that was responding was anti-Hudler or didn't think he was worth re-signing. That is why I called out the Hudler lovers because in every other thread I mentioned my dislike for re-siging Hudler they were there. Relax Martha, relax!

I agree with all of you, I would rather see Hudler go, but for a while there I couldn't find anyone else to go along with me, all I got was a bunch of slack for saying Holland shouldn't match a $2.5m offer. I guess all the Hudler lovers are on break, the dinner bell must have gone off! Maybe they will return later. Trust me, I am all for getting a Neil or a Moen in here over Hudler and Sammy, thats a promise!

I totally agree with you guys, I am for not signing Hudler at all, BUT I would hate to see Holland give Jiri $2.0 to $2.5 of the available cap also. So if he was going to sign him, lets get creative and sign him long term (since he supposedly has so much potential) and have him throughout his prime years all while only hitting our cap for $1.5... If any of you guys thought it was a good idea for Hossa to sign at a $4 mllion cap, then it wouldn't be outrageous to ask Jiri to sign at a $1.5m cap. Ok, well 100 points maybe too much, but heck I'd take 70-80 points for sure. Sorry no sarcasm was meant, but I just don't want to see most of our ap used up on Jiri. If he is supposed to be that good and he is only 25, why not sign him for 10-12 years? Front load it so he is making a ton early and only $1m near the end. I also do not want to see them only get 1 draft pick in return since he'd have to sign somewhere of $3.1 or more to get a first and third in return, anything less is only a 2nd. of course MUCH less is nothing in return... C'mon all you Hudler supporters, lets get this contract done!

Ok, we've had enough "Thanks You Marian" threads the past couple of days, enuff is enuff. He is the mortal enemy now, a blackhawk. Cripes! We've had more threads thanking Hossa than we've had thanking Chelios, whom was much more important to this team...

Pitts just lost Garon too, he goes to Columbus... BTW, We haven't seen any Satan to the Devils posts yet, we are usually good for a few of those this time of year, so here's te first. Lets see Satan in a Devils uniform! And he can wear #6, so from his right shoulder to his left it reads, you guessed it, 6 6 6!

ok, Fiddler also signed for $1.1 in phoenix, I think he would've looked nice here for $1.1m. I am stll hoping for Travis Moen, but as for the salaries going around he ain't gonna come here for $1.25m.... Still here's my wish list for now: Moen - $1.25 Yelle - $1.10 Then you still have room for Abby to come up and down to help Meech out with injuries.... I would like to see Tanguay here, but much like with Hossa, we don't have the Cap space... BTW, Steve Sullivan 2 years $7.5 million? There is a LOT of overpayment going on, BUT there are teams getting better while we are (again) standing still (so far.) Chicago got better.... Toronto, better... Montreal, better... Columbus, a little better... St. Louis, has a much better goalie than Legace now, so improved they did... Philly, better... Detroit and Pitts are getting passed up by the competition...
-
I am telling you, they should try to get Tanguay here for $3million. Then sign Yelle if he'll fit...
-
if Bettman has his way, yes it will be Chicago Washington and I mentioned this a while ago while argueing with a pens fan about their dynansty hopes...

$2.0 million for hudler is too much cap space.... period. If he has the potential, he is only 25, give him a 10 year front loaded deal that averages out at $1.0million per season. But a cap hit of $2.0m is WAAAAAY too much for this team at the time. I wouldn't mind the 10 year deal for a minimal cap hit tho...
-
Oh, now you did it! They are gonna come yell at you and tell you how they won in 2008 with no Lappy type player. Of course Drake doesn't count apparently. They are going to tell youhow hudler is god and he is worth $3.0m on our team. I 'd rather see if Tanguay would come here for $3.0m before Hudler.... ...we lost out on a great deal with Lappy, not that he was my first choice, but $1.1m is an awesome deal for him and he would've looked good in Detroit for that contract...
-
well the good news is, for the most part, the guys most of us would like to see here are still available. The onlyones that are gone are Lappy & Orr. Moen is still there, Neil, Fiddler, etc... that being said Holland will give Hudler a huge raise and we'll be done. And that will spell our demise. Does anyone know what Havlat wants? We can give him 10 years...
-
you got to remember, Holland is going to give 90% of our cap space to Hudler, he is our savior ya know? $1.1 for Lappy is great! No word whether he was interested in Detroit, but we could've afforded that for sure. But, lets give Hudler $3 million, so he can choke (worse than Hossa) in the playoffs...

Three players gone... what's next for Wings?
LeftWinger replied to redwashington2000's topic in General
We kinda knew we were going to lose most if not ALL of our free agents, so not too surprising, but I certainly hope Holland picks a couple of guys up. AndI don't mean Hudler & Sammy! If Wings go into next season without adding a couple of UFA from outside the organization, we lose. Hawks will now be the #1 in the central.... -
Better overall core of defensemen - Flames or Wings?
LeftWinger replied to BeeRYCE's topic in General
Tampa looks pretty goodnow too, with Ohlund, walker and oh yea, Hedman... -
Well, if this does have Bowman written all over it (Waaay overpaymen for Kopy) but that is gonna cost you guys Hudler. If Kopecky gets $1.2 on a contender, what does Hudler get? Maybe Bowman will sign him up too, at $3.5? Bowman DOES love himself some Hudler....
-
It seems everywhere Burkie goes, he is always trying to "steal" players from the Wings and players the Wings show interest in. This being the latest, although I kow Kenny wouldn't offer Orr $1m, that would be about as dumb as Hudler getting $2m from Kenny! Anyhow, obviously Burkie wants to take any player that the Wings are interested in, so Holland should just mention just a bunch of sucky names and watch Burkie scoop them all up at outrageous salaries a really "rebuild" Toronto. Hey maybe Holland should offer Hudler $3m so Burkie will step in a give him $4m! I sure would love to have Toronto's 1st and 3rd rounders for next year, since the won't be in the playoffs it's bound to be a top 10! - guys, just joking with the Hudler crap, I know there is a lot of man-love on here so I will stop...
-
YA! that means there is still a chance.... that we'll rid ourselves of Hudler!
-
All Hail Hudler! Hail! Hail! Hail!
-
Yes, it does, but who cares right? Because we all know that Hudler is God and deserves $3.0m, when we were only going to offer Hossa $4.0m.... Hudler can stay, for $1.2m... anything else is NOT overpaying him, but missusing our cap. He needs to give a hometown discount to stay so we can ice the best possible team this season, not so we can sign a $400,000 Joe UFA to skate on the 4th line... PLUS only have Meech as the 13th forward AND the 7th defensman. Yeah, that's depth for ya! Meech is your only savior for ALL injuries because you cannot call anyone up for $250,000..... Yea, lets give Huder $2.5m of our $3.3m.....
-
Man florida can get some good players, but the fail to build the team around them: Bouwmeester, Luongo, Jovonowski, Jokinen, Bure(s), Kozlov to name a few.... maybe they should fold up shop, along with Phoenix...
-
Another Hossa is gone thread? Maybe the Hudler lovers can turn this into a "Lets give 90% of our cap space to Jiri" thread as well. Thanks for the effort Hossa, good luck whereever you go! Just say "NO" to Hudler
-
...and if Holland gives Hudler most of his available cap, then maybe he isn't the genius we all thought he was...
-
And that is STILL wasting your cap space. You got one guy filling both the 13th and 7th positions. And you have the UFA making $500,000, so now you only have $150,000 left. Lets see, Meech is filing in for an injured d-man and now Holmstrom goes down (like he has the past three seasons) now what? Yeah, you now have 11 forwards again, and no room to bring someone up. I am not debating whether or not Hudler is worth the $2.5m, I believe I started a thread showing how he is worth $3m or more, but with our limted cap space, it would be stupid to give him most of it. I don't make the rules on the compensation, that part sucks, but what else are you going to do? You cannot sink the rest of your cap space into one guy and expect to be healthy for the playoffs another long run in the playoffs. At least leave room to call someone up if needed to fill in for injuries... ie. Abby at $850,000... and I suspect the amount of intelligence you have if you think the Wings can go all the way again with only having Meech backing everyone up...
-
Well, thats all fine, but I guess my point is, if the likes of Hossa was willing to take an almost 35% paycut to stay here, maybe Hudler should consider it as well, so maybe we can have about $2 million to sign Professor X and maybe a minimum wager (Orr) for a 13th forward and keep Meech just on D. My point is, Hudler has to take a discount if some manhy Superstars did and were willing to. And what if someone does offer Hudler $3.0 million?
-
doesn't matter, even at the same salary, there won't be enough money to fill out the forward units. LET HUDLER WALK... Again, if he wants to play at the same pay, fine, if h wants a raise, adios! AND GOD FORBID HOLLAND MATCHES A $2.5 MILLION OFFER!!!
