    Kenny says Abdelkader is ready

Well geez Debbie Downer! If we never assume things will get better then what is there to look forward to? Geez, lets go and get Yzerman and Shanahan and Fedorov and Larionov back. Hey if you go to sleep tonight, you are doing so assuming your are going to wake up. Ask Mr. Mays about that! (no offense to Billy, may he RIP) but there is no guarantee. There is no guarantee Zetterberg won't tank this season. Or Osgood won't have another season like last regualr season. There are no guarantees, just hope and trust. TRUST the fact that Kenny and his boys know or knew what they were doing when they drafted and signed all these youngsters and HOPE that it all works out! Like it or not, the "CORE" isn't getting any younger... YOUTH GONE WILD! Oh, and if Moen gets PP time and maybe 2nd line minutes once in a while, he could easily score 10-15 playing for the Wings...

Wings will re-sign Leino to a 2-year deal

I don't like Hudler, because he's Hudler. I've never liked him, never will, he could scoe 93 goals and I will still never like him. That being said, I have maintained all along that he is worth $3 or more million, just not with our limited cap space, but he could surely get it elsewhere, and I hope he does. And yes, if the Wings ink Leino for 2 more years and he puts up Hudler points in those two year, he will also be worth $3 or more million and we may be facing yet another free agent we may be asking to take discount to stay, or move on if he wants huge pay dirt. Sure my thoughts on Leino are MAYBE's, but Hudler is ALSO a maybe next year as well, MAYBE his huge disappointing playoff are a sign of things to come, maybe the buttend to his head messed him up. Maybe he is a little more scared than he used to be, it's all maybe, maybe we sign him $3 million and he sucks up the ice and only gets 25 points, maybe he gives us a discount and signs for $1.5 and hits 75 points, and then again the next year and when he becomes a UFA, we may be asking him again to take a discount, or maybe he'll be getting a "career" contract like Franzen and he'll get the big bucks. I don't like him, but it doesn't mean I don't see what he can possibly turn into, I just think he should realize our limied cap space and sign a short contract for a low cap hit. BUt with the rumor that he turned down Hollands offer of $2.5m, I think he is being an idiot and needs to move on. He is worth and can get $3m PLUS, but somewhere else where he can be afforded, that is, unfortunately the Cap Era. No more dynasty's... I hope he gets $4m somewhere, it would be great for him and his fans who will watch and root for him whereever he goes, even if it is the KHL...

Leino scored 5 goals in 13 games for us, prorate that and its 31 goals over an 82 game season. I have no doubt that Helm could score 15-20 in 82 games as well. If we sign Moen there is another 10-15 playing with Helm or being a big body on the PP. Even if Leino only nets 25 that is still 51 goals on the lower estimate for these guys (OK, Moen isn't signed yet, YET, but even Abby could possibly net 10) Expect increases from Zetterberg and Datyuk when they reunite and you can give Cleary a few more playing with them. Franzen and Filppula should breakout even more. Sooner or later (with the cap it's looking like sooner) the kids are going to be here. They are ready, we are ALL ready. Youth Gone Wild!

    Kenny says Abdelkader is ready

Boy, considering the talent we've lost (and when we lose Hudler & gain Moen (sorry until its out of the question, I am holding out hope.)) but considering ourt lossess, even losing the Cup, I am getting more and more excited everyday the season draws closer! Helm/Ericsson/Leino/Abdelkader/Oulahen! It just looks up and up for the Wings each year! Cannot wait until NEXT off season when Holmstrom, Maltby, Lilja & Lids come off the books! Our RFA's will be Tardiff/Ritola/Ryno/Meech/Helm/Kindl/Larsson/Kolosov ALL of which will be easily signed, with Helm probably getting the largest raise of them all... Probably with Ritola/Ryno/Kindl/Kolosov challenging for Detroit spots next! GD! Comig Soon, Youth Gone Wild!

    Kenny says Abdelkader is ready

very interesting, thank you... So WTF are we gonna do with Oulahen? Nobody has really even fatored him in until now... With Hudler wanting more than $2.5m (especially since Sammy got $2.5 and Clowe got $3.5, he should get more) I cannot see how we can sign him now... So if they release him, he would be UFA, then no draft pick(s)?

    Kenny says Abdelkader is ready

With Sammy getting $2.5m and Clowe getting $3.5m, I cannot see Hudler siging for less than $3.0m somewhere. He actually outscored Clowe goal wise and point wise, I realize they are two differen types of players, but numbers are numbers, stats are stats. Hudler SHOULD get $3.0 to $3.5, but maybe he'll take $2.0 or less to stay here... Doubt it... My question is still out there, if an arbitrator awards Hudler $3.0 or more, does Holland have to sign him or can he let him walk? And does that make him a UFA at that point?

You already said Oulahen is out of options, first of all, how is that determined, I wouldn't mind knowing for myself when a player is out of options, TIA. Second, is Tardiff also out of options in the minors?

Woooooo, how is this guy, how come he has never been mentioned on the roster before? How do you find out who has and hasn't got minor league options? Is he someone Holland is keeping or plan on giving a roster spot this season?

Wings will re-sign Leino to a 2-year deal

that is what I have been saying! I even lowered it to $1.5 million is too much on this team (mainly because I am nota 'fanatic' for him) But hell yeah if he is't going to accept $2.5 from Holland, then Good day sir! You Lose! You Get Nothing! I am intrigued by the comment about possilby getting $3.5 to $4 from someone though, I would definately take those 1st and 3rd round pickd then! Buy realistically I can see someone offering him a contract up to $3,099,999 just so they onlyhave to give up a 2nd. But maybe someone will! Question: If Hudler goes to arbitration and the arbitrator says he gets $3.5, then does Holland HAVE to give it to him or can he say no thanks and let him walk? Does that make him a UFA then?
  17. LeftWinger

    Ok, Jiri Hudler

So, funny that I should start this thread, but I do see the upside in Hudler, I was the one who started the thread stating that he was worth $3m or more on the market, so lets get it done. Kenny, this guy is ONLY 25 years old. Obviously he wants to stay, obviously he has a huge fanbase that thinks he is good enough now and project him to be a 100 pointer by time he hits his prime, so lets give him a Zetterberg deal. No not $6m per year, but give him a front loaded 12 year deal with an average cap hit of $1.5million. When he is 30 - 35 years old, he will be a bargin at a $1.5 cap hit. I am not that good with numbers so if someone out there would breakdown a 12 year contract that is front loaded but still only average $1.5 against the cap, lets see what we would be paying him up front. If he is scoring 60 points now with limited ice, just think when it's Hudler - Zetterberg - Datsyuk five to seven years from now! All you number crunchers out there lets see the terms broken down. The contract is 12 years with an average cap hit of $1.5million. All you arm chair Kenny's out there, lets get it done! A hit of $1.5million will still allow us to sign a Travis Moen too!

Jack Johnson being shopped.. Trade for Hudler?

Ya,but you cannot pass up on the potential of this kid. 22, played in LA, do you expect him to have Norris numbers? Put him on a team with Lidstrom and whamo! PLUS, it dumps Stuarts salary (if he would waive) and sets a VERY good, yound D corps for years to come! Trade Hudler/Meech/Stuart for Johnson and a pick...

  24. LeftWinger

    boo hossa?

But there will be "flunkies" that do it, exactly like the Pitts fans and the Hawks fans that boo Chelios. The Chelios one I really don't understand,it's not like he left for Detroit, he got traded, boo the managment for that one. Of course, they are, in the end, Hawks fans...
  25. LeftWinger

    boo hossa?

I know a certain "chump" that will boo him, as he does Fedorov or anyone else who may leave because, God forbid, the don't want to play for the Wings at 50% of their worth, and he'll turn around and cheer another one who soaks up most of our capspace... I think that should be "Fan" and "Flunkie"
