Taking the nickname from Tony Stewart, Darren Helm aka Smoke! or maybe even Dash!
-
I never said it was inappropriate, but the WTC fell, you are referring to Helm as the aicraft that made them fall, so he wouldn't be the WTC, he'd be the aircraft. Then of course I had to reference the obvious inside job of 9/11. I wasn't dogging you at all...
-
The WTC is what fell, the opponenets should have that name if you want to reference that. In that case Helm would be the planes crashing into the WTC's, so he would be called "Inside Job."

didn't want to start a new thread with this, so I will talk about it here. I know alot of you are Not NASCAR fans andin fact I have be told to stop mentioning it () BUT this is relavent. NASCAR Nationwid Series driver Brian Keselowski drives the #26 Dodge and is from Rochester Hills drove a very special paint scheme the last two weeks, check them out! this one last week in Charlotte, Hurricane country. He said he did it in case the canes made it to the finals and possibly fae Detroit again. and this one this week in Dover to honor yet ANOTHER Wings Stanley Cup Final. I cannot wait to see what he drives when the Wings win the Cup again! Way to go Brian and way to go Mr. I for the sponsorship! Ok,back to Hockey! LETS GO RED WINGS!

LeftWinger replied to Matt's topic in Hall of Fame

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
LeftWinger replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
it is the same reason why GM, Chrysler, Northwest,, Delta "HAD" to enter bankruptcy (well GM soon, and Ford will follow.) The same reason why after evertime they agree to a contract with the UAW or IAM, they come back and say well, we were wrong, we need more from you. All while cashing in golden parachutes and guaranteed (much like contracts guarntee things for the LAbor) bonuses. More money for the top 1%, the working man curles up and dies. NHL, just another greedy corporation... -
Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
LeftWinger replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
then that means Cindy is still a crybaby. The only difference that is going to be in this Finals for sure, is that Fluery will not trip over his own self running out on the ice. Other than that, it's Hossa time! You think you hate him now... -
WHOA WHOA WHOA! We haven't eliminated the Hawk YET!
-
He is playing very well, keeping us in games in pretty much all of the first periods so far. He is leading the league(goalies left) in GAA, wins (tied with 11) and save percentage. If the Wings wind up repeating, and with no one skater on our club dominating, how much consideration should Osgood get for the Conn Smythe (if any)? and if he does win it, does that finally quiet the skeptics about his number being retired and getting into the Hall?

When was the last time 2 teams played each other back to back
LeftWinger replied to Hockey9019's topic in General
also if we are being compared to the Islanders passing the torch to the Oilers, then we have a few more Cups to win in a row, like 3 more, then we'll pass the torch to someone! -
When was the last time 2 teams played each other back to back
LeftWinger replied to Hockey9019's topic in General
lets compare: Gretzky - Crosby - Oilers Win Messier - Malkin - Oilers Win Kurri - Staal - Oilers Win Coffey - Gonhar - Oilers Win Anderson - Sykora, Fedotenko & Satan - Oilers Win Fuhr & Moog - Fluery & ???? - Oilers Win Lowe - Orpik - Oilers Win Linesmen, McLeland, Semenko - Cooke, Goddard - Ummm, Oilers Win The pattern being, 1984 Oilers to 2009 Penguins.... No Comparison. I wouldn't even like the 2009 Wings chances against the 1984 Oilers... MAYBE the 2002 Wings, but that is a maybe... -
I think even funnier than the spill are the kids who are crouching on the ice lughing their assess off! Like maybe they set up a booby trap to trip him and were devilshing crouching down (hiding) to watch the unsuspecting victim! Then reveling in their success! Classic! Nobody knew that Fluery faling would be the metaphor for Pittsburgh's series last year!

and to finish it off, Stuart re-sends Havlat to the showers in game 4 with huge hit! I suppose that was gutless too, since Havlat was already dazed from Kronwall, nobody should have touched him all game. Man those Wings are gutless!

This Dyanasty actually starte in 1990 since we've haven't missed the playoffs since, have been the ONLY team to win the Pesidents Trophy more than twice, 13 seasons with 100 points or more (currently 9 in a row) even the half season of 1994-95 we had 70 points which would have equalled yet another 100 point season. 4 Stanley Cups, the last team to repeat as Cup Champs, have the record for most wins EVER in a single season. Need I go on? IN contrast you know your teams abysmal record since the 1991 Cup. Epecially missing the playoffs 4 seasons in a row. Your dynasty will end before it starts when the Cap goes down, because you won't be able to afford to pay your players all that money that is already tied up! Careful what you wish for when you say you haven't had the embarrassment of being swept in a SCF. This years SCF hasn't been played yet...

I remember the day he Defected in Seattle during te Goodwill Games! I guess Tikonov didn't think Fedorov any Goodwill after that! Will always be a Wing, will enter the Hall as a Wing, will have his #91 in the rafters (hopefully) Absolutely the best Red Wing ever to play that wasn't named Howe or Yzerman.

Brian Campbell - $7.14 million - 20:18 minutes ice time per game (16 games) 10 points +/- of ZERO John Ericsson - $900,000 - 19:58 minutes average ice time per game (14 games) 5 points +8 Brad Stuart - $3.75 million - 24:49 (15 games) 7 points +8 Kronwall - $3 million - 23:42 (15 games) 7 points +4 Patrick Kane - $3.7 million - 16:27 (15 games) 13 points -10 John Toews - $2.8 million - 16:05 (16 games) 13 points -1 Martin Havlat - $6 million - 15:34 (16 games) 15 points 0 Johan Franzen - $941,667 - 19:43 (15 games) 19 points +10 Daniel Cleary - $2.8 million - 17:00 (15 games) 13 points +15 Val Filppula - $3 million - 16:54 (15 games) 13 points +8 Khabibulin - $6.75 million GAA 2.93 Huet - $5.62 million GAA 4.55 Osgood - $1.4 million GAA 2.14 Conklin - $750,000 Entire Balckhawks team is a combined -16 Entire Wings team is a combined +99 If the he thinks the Wings are "Gutless" then the Hawks are "Clueless" "Actionless" "Depthless" "Offenseless" "Pithless" "Lithless" and "Nonetheless, USELESS." Which actually makes everyting about the Wings "PRICELESS!"

Coffey77, please let me welcome you too! I wor for "THE" airline here in Detroit and have a few folks who were forced out of Pit during our downsizing. One in particular is a huge, huge Pens fan, we love to bicker back and forth about the Wings and Pens, it healthy, its fun. He would be a welcome addition to this forum if he had the time, he commutes back and forth on his off days and has a very very (terminally) sick wife. I pray for him. Anyhow, please just keep it simple, you already have and will find more when we are actually playing each other, more idiots on here. You will laugh at the ones that jump off the bandwagon and back on, you will enjoy yourself. Finals aside, the best way to become a respected memeber of this forum is to stay and contribute even after the pens are eliminated ! All joking aside, we really enjoy intelligent conversation with other fans. It kind of brings a great perspective in here, especially in the off season, like having an inside opinion on whats happening outside of the Red WIngs Nation. Whoever wins the Cup, stick around, you'll quickly find out why we have the number sports forum in the nation. (aside from a select few.) Back to my buddy, in the second round we were talking about the possibilty of a rematch and I told him what was gonna happen if there were one. Game 7, overtime, Hossa wins it! You looked at me in all seriousness and said that he would s*** himself if that happened! Funny! I, for one, believe the Wings can beat anyone in series, but you do have to factor in the lessons learned factor and the experience factor. Cindy, may realize crying to the refs and press doesn't work and maybe he'll plan on showing up for all the game instead of three of them. Of course Malkin hasn't been ruffed up half as much as he was last season, so he should be flying too! It'll be epic, it'll be fun, with Detroit winning back to back titles. Of course I know you believe the same thing, except for that last part! Stay classy, don't feed into out trolls, help us hinder the pens trolls that will show up, and you will enjoy yourself! Go Wings! on thing, at least if there is a rematch, we wont have to put with everyting Crosby, I think the storyline of Hossa (and Conklin) would be a very interesting one for all fans to watch. 2009 SCF Headline: "Did they make the right choice? Or did they make a serious mistake? Only that can be decided right now, on the ice. Bring it or go home!"
