with Lappy rejeting the avs offer, I doub he will come here. He is looking for a raise from last season and that is too much for us to pay. With Hossa all but signed, that takes about $6million off what we can afford, gonna be tight unless we can convince Draper, Maltby to retire and trade Rafi or Kronner (rafi being the first choice obviousy because of the cap hit. Trade him and re-sgn Hossa, that still allows us $9million for others.) Let Hudler go and get the picks in return. One he scored his 20th, he did nothing, especilly in the playoffs. If Lilja is done too, we'll definately have room to sign someone or two, but not for a lot. If can convince Draper and Maltby to retire, convince Rafi to waive his no trade clause and Lilja cannot return, then that is another $9.65million for us under the cap. Add the $9.4million we already have thats $19.05 million to get this roster changed! $6million for Hossa $3million (roughly) for Helm, Abdelkader, Howard & Leino $500,000 for Downey That would give us $10 million for a UFA or two in July. We'll have a 1st and a 3rd round pick for Hudler, probably a first for Rafi (or maybe a player and a first.) You could throw a couple of million at a couple of people and STILL have money for that trade deadline (which also hurt us this year) With thatbeing said, we prolly won't see any of our top 4 d-men being traded, and Maltby, Draper will be able to play out their contracts. We'll sign Hossa and bring up the griffins and be right at the cap all year again, with no wiggle room at all....

Upset, disappointed, very angry it was the pens, but whatever, in roster terms, this is the best thing that could've happened! Hollnd will now be forced to evaluate this team and make changes. Hossa is supposedly all but signed, so that doesn't leave much unless (and since we've lost the Cup, this canbe a little easier) Trade one Stuart, Kronwall or Rafaski (I know, No Trade Clause, but that can be wroked around) Somehow convince Maltby and Draper to retire. Let Hudler pursue his options elsewhere, part ways with Sammy, Chelios, McCarty, Conlkin (due to Howard havingto clear waivers.) re-sign Kopecky, Hossa & Leino. Bring up Helm, Abdelkader, Ericsson permanently. Maybe I am the minority, but we need (and needed) Aaron Downey up here this playoff and next season. Re-sign him.... However it needs to be done, but some changes are needed. Say what you want about getting as far a we did, but we got kicked around by Anaheim. If we cannot trade one of those D-Men, then we are in a world of hurt (unless Draper and Maltby retire.) That would still alllow us to sign Hossa, Kopecky, Leino & Downey and bring up Howard, Helm, Ericsson & Abdelkader. That is the reason we lost, whatever they say, our old men were tired. Draper, Maltby, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Sammy. That is why I am mostly mad, sad, etc... I know we won with that lineup last time and that was pretty much the reason Babcock didn't tweak it too much, but NOW is the time for NEW hunger. Time to give the Griffins their entire season! Put Meech in there permanently. Maybe Holmstrom will retire too, maybe we can actually trade one of D-Men for a player instead of picks, but whatever, I am sad,but excited to see what comes next! Go Wings! Bring on draft day!

f*** Bettman, f*** Crosby, f*** Malkin, f*** the entire NHL, especially the WIngs that decided this was game 35 of the season and not game ******* 7 of the FINALS!!!!!
-
Now we start talking about who can get the f*** off this team that didn't show up for 4 out of 7 games.... I don't want to here about who was injured or tired! f*** them, they make milliond of dollars and can't even perform when it comes down to it. I WILL NOT congrat pi either....
-
POSITVE!!! We CAN DO THIS!!!! if not, then Hossa, Hudler, Sammy, Draper, Maltby, Holmstrom can all go.....
-
remember game 4? Hoe lifeless the Wings were, and Pit was flying high? Then gmae 5 happened. No worries about the Wings, just as I told my buddy from Pit way back in round two, If there is a repeat, outcome Game 7 overtime Hossa game winner. He said he'd Sh!t himself! (I hope we win in regulation, but I will take a win no matter how!)
-
Yeah, can we get her to say "Chocolate Delite"
-
Now we have two pens fans smacking on each other! Gotta love Letsgowings.com!!!!
-
too bad he cannot spell Ciccarelli!
-
troll, troll, troll your boat! Who cares!?!?! These teams have done what they are supposed to do, WIN AT HOME! Our turn! We KEEP Stanley and we win it in front of our home crown in OUR house!

I agree, no props if they win, but replay showed clearly that he DIDN'T put his hand on the puck. He tried, but the puck got under MAF's glove when he saved the puck with his skate (in the right place at the right time.) Everyone and their brother thought he did, pens fans were holding their breath! It looked like he did, he did reach for it, but MAF got it first. Dead Issue. I am pissed, Wings got two back to back PP's and failed miserbly on both. Cleary decided he'd rather be Datsyuk than himself an try to deke the goalie instead of doing what has gotten him two breakaway goals already, SHOOT! Wings had their chances, I can only say they threw the game in order for the NHL to have their 7 games... (maybe Pit threw game 5 as well?)
-
You got your bounces with Scuderi making two saves in the crease yesterday. You got your luck when Osgood flubbed Kennedy's goal. As a matter or fact, you've had more nounces than us. That being said, I am begining to believe these conspiracy theories about teams throwing games. Look at game 5 (for PIt) and then game 6 (for us.) Whatever, I am just as frustrated as the Pens fans were Saturday night. Of course Pit has a chance buddy, 50-50 is what I am looking at, but so does Detroit, and it is perceived we have the advantage being at home... to the OP, I for one will not give congrats to Pitt, I hate all teams that aren't Detroit, so why would I? What was Hossa's deal yesterday?
-
only 1-0 guys, we got this!
-
ya, or the offsides trick. Maybe this is the game that the refs call all the Wings at least once for hooking or tripping or looking at Crysby wrong... Maybe that is how Bylsma should motivate the Pens. Maybe THIS is the Bettman game! I hope not...

and we as Wings fans aren't as upset when our (undrafted) ufa's leave us after they say they want to stay. ie. Schneider, Bertuzzi, shoot not even Shanahan. We felt more double-crossed when the likes of Fedorov, LaPointe and Dandenault (no so much) left. Dude, get over Hossa, HE WAS A RENTAL!!! You will sting more when Scuderi leaves, trust me! Didn't it hurt more when Malone left? We will intially be upset if Hossa leaves, but you know what, in the end, we won playing against him, we're gonna win playing with him, if he leaves, we'll still win. I don't even think he'd warrant boos when he came back to the Joe. It's different when someone helps you win, ie. Hull, Robitaille, Chelios, they all got cheered (Chelios if he plays somewhere should too.) He wouldn't be leaving as a rental. None of the players I mentioned were rentals. Robitaille would be the closest since he was only here for two season. But Hossa was there for 4 months? That'd be like us getting mad when Dmitri Mironov didn't resign, or Slegr... Get over it... You get nothing, you lose, good day sir!

So, everything we've explained to you in the other thread just went in one eye and out the other then? The ONLY young guy you sacrifice is Hudler. PERIOD.
-
Why don't you guys have any faith that Hossa is staying? You don't believe that the contract is done just not signed yet because of league rules? This guy has ALWAYS wanted to be a Wing, every tradeline has him coming to Detroit, but the price is too high. Now he is here, he says he'll take less to be here, his agent says the Cap issue won't be an issue at all. Do you really think he'll take his Cup and run? I want to watch all the crow being eaten come draft day, whereafter Hossa gets inked to his 7 year deal. Better start looking up recipes!
-
Nah, They'll be concentrating on ruining Tavares...
-
or just that 66 out of 100 people that voted are Detroit/Pit fans!
-
I am confused, either you are mixing them up or he is, Eric plays for Carolina, Jordan for Pit. Or am I mixing them up?
-
Hmmm, can you say, Detroit-Toronto SCF?
-
Ok, Heatly for Crysby straight up. Put Crysby where he belongs and Heatly turns Pit into a winner. (a winner that WE can respect as well.)
-
are we talking about fans or Cindy Louganis?
-
EXACTLY my point! Although I didn't curse at all, I just used the typical names we use for their captain. (I refuse to call him by his real name, he hasn't earned it.) Evidentally they'all didn't pay attention to the last seven series the Wings played. THEY WILL NOT REACT TO THOSE ANTICS. You cannot get them off their game by being physical or trying to goat the into penalties. Didn't happen all last playoff and it hasn't happened all this playoff. The only chance Pens have is to lead by their hearts and NOT follow what's his name OR his evil twin...
-
Not next year, he is under contract until 2011/2012. Which will make him 39 years old when he lifts to Cup that year. If he feels good enough, come on back to be backup. He will probably already be the back-up by then anyhow. Why not take a couple hundred grand to watch and win a couple more Cups?
