Wow, if that video is real, then I don't feel so bad filing bankruptcy, losing all my money in the Stock Market, losing one of my vehicles back to the bank and having to still rely on my parents for money at 39 years old! I cannot wait until "Scott" grows up and has real issues to deal with. Could you imagine this kid if he were a Wings fan in the early 90's? OMG! He would have killed himself... On a lighter note, adults, wouldn't it be nice to go back to the days of not having any other problems than your favorite team losing in the playoffs? Man, that would be nice to have only that to worry about! Of course now he has to worry about making an ass of himself in front of the world wide web! But if the Hawks fans are comparing our Detroit Red Wings domination to that of the Red Army in the 70's and 80's then I will take that comparison. The Wings have been dominate thats for sure, but Red Army dominate? What a compliment! Thanks! Unfortunately, I am not thinking there will be a second miracle on ice, why? 1980 USA/Red Army was ONE game to advance. You have to play us best of 7, winning 4 to advance. Nobody can beat this Red (Army) Wings team in a 7 game series, nobody. They can have their beating us the last two games of the season, because the last win of the playoffs will Detroit closing out the series in game 5, moving on once again tho their 6th SCF appearance in 12 years. (of course we still have to finish up business in Anaheim. So I guess for arguments sake (since the Hawks are already in he WCF) until we finish of Anaheim, they have a better shot at winning the Cup. But that is like saying, I lost everything in the Stock market, but at least I didn't invest my own money.))

They better hope Anaheim pulls it out because if they face Detroit in the WCF, they will be lucky to win 1 game. As a matter of fact I will give them game 4 in Chicago, but no more. Anaheim has been and will be our biggest adversity in these playoffs. Wile we're at it, lets put our hands together for a Washington win upcoming and Boston to come back and win that series. The World cannot wait for a Detroit/Boston Stanley Cup Final...

Well, since the clucks have the last change, it would be pointless to get into a line change fiasco trying to get McCrappy out there against Brown (or whomever.) That wold totally be advantage clucks. Wings DOMINATED last game, why change the lineup? (other than if Rafalski is ok to go) But, of course, we aren't Babcock so, we'll have to trust him. Good lineup? With Hudler on the 2nd line!??!?! Hudler has no business even being mentioned on the 2nd line! Unless (hopefully) he signs elsewhere. Leino, Helm, Abdelkader, anyone of which can take that rostor spot. Even if we don't re-sogn Hossa, I pray that Hudler is in a new uniform next season. Unless he takes $1.5 million in salary, he is a waste of money.

plenty of cap room, Sammy and Hudler are gone. Along with another player to be named later... ...Hossa will stay for a fair contract. Rich Winter already said cap not an issue. Hossa aint going anywhere. Maybe they can convince Maltby and or Draper to retire.

Thing is, really, what do you have to lose using Abdelkader or Kindl or Leino? You already cannot generate any offense against this team, they've figured us out. Sure Chelios is a playoff vetern but he is a liability, with no chance of adding anything to the offense. I am sure though that Meech would get the call before Kindl. Now, Abs and Leino you could easilt sit Maltby and Kopy. Maybe dress 13 forwards and have Kopy on standby, with only 6 D. I know Babs won't change nothing tonight, but I sure hate to wait until an elimination game to start changing, that will put too much pressure on the kids. I understand NOT dressing Downey because then Anaheim will know exactly why he's there and goat him into bad penalties. Maybe just change Maltby and Kopy, PLEASE Mike!!! Leino and Abs could be the spark we need! Honestly though, Homer needs to be demoted, he aint producing, he aint bothering anyone, especially Hiller. Put the Mule on the top line with Dats and Hank. Ok, let me start by saying I want the Wings to repeat as Cup Champs. If they had to lose, I'd rather see them los in the finals than to Aneheim. With that being said, here are a couple of positives that may come out of losing to Anaheim (for next season) Or lets put it, where do we go from there? You will probably see the last of Sammy, Lebda, Chelios. The whole Hossa scenario would become clearer, he doesn't re-sign or signs for far less because of his lack of performing in the playoffs. You get to keep either Hudler or Filppula,the latter being my first choice. You could still get rid of both of them and save money for a top 5 goaltender. You will definately see the like of Helm, Abdelkader, Ericsson, Leino, possibly Kindl (I am not so sold on Howard, if we don't sign Hossa, then try to get Khabibulen or someone of that nature (if available.)) Our defensive problems. Hmmmmm, will Brad McCrimmon still be here? RIght now there are two VERY good coahes out there who would fill in nicely for McCrimmon, Guy Carbonneau and Jacques Lemaire (once again the latter beingmy choice.) BUT would they come here for an assistant role? Lemaire would turn this defense into something special, especially if Lilja is cleared to play and Ericsson hee fulltime. If Kindl can make it that would be 4 out of 6 defensmen over 6' and 200 lbs. Lids and Rafi being, well, Lids and Rafi that would make a pretty impressive D Corps. If Kindl can play his way in to the lineup that is. If not you have Meech, who probably is more suited as a forward on this team. Of course there may not be room up there either. I don't know, all this talk about the "Call" and the thuggery and refs, I just thought I'd post a thread with something other than that to talk about. I want the Wings to win, but if they do, that is the worst thing that could happen for the kids of this organization, because Holland won't want to make too many changes. If they lose, obviously it'll be devistating, but then getting rid of or losing some players may no hurt as much. If we lose, Hossa should give us even more of a discount, lets say, like Franzen money. That'll free up cash for a goaler if needed. Maybe the Wings could convince Maltby to retire.

Lets look back. 1999, Wings sweep Anaheim, win the first two games IN Colorado, game 2 a shutout. Come home, flying high, in control, lose the next 4. 2002, Vancouver wins first two games in JLA,Wings fans calling for heads (of their own players) fly out to vancouver, Vancouver riding high, WIngs win next 4. Bold prediction. Wings win game 4, finish the series in 6. All they need is a solid 60 minute effort, win by more than 1 goal, gain the confidence they need, move on the the next round. Dats with 5 points tomorrow, Hossa with 2 goals... Go Wings! (and go Caps)

I think so! Although they'd have some problems when Television deals. I am sure the couldn't get VS. But Espn, Fox, ABC would love to have them, since they wouldn't be asking for billions in revenue... Of course not sure if they could wrestle the Stanley Cup away from the NHL.

BREAKING NEWS!!! This just in, NHL confirms that the league DID review the "Call" from last nights game between the Wings and Ducks. Even though they cannot change the call, or the outcome of the game. They issued this video statement to help clarify their previous statement (the one the OP posted.)

The Cops wouldn't have helped because they would have just deemed that the man in the Wigs jersey started it because he is a Wings fan. No way a Ducks fan would resort to thuggery. And when asked about the Non-arrest, the Anaheim Police Department sends out a response to the situation.... "Although we know it may have been a mistake and the wrong call NOT to stop the fight, our officers are insrtucted to look the other way as soon as think they've " lost sight" of the reason the fight started and when the security camera slo-mo review clearly showed that the Ducks fans were the instigators by attacking 5 year old children with drunken obsenities, it is our policy to look the other way and with "intent" NOT stop the fight because of the clothes the attackee's were wearing. The fact that the Red jerery'smay have blended with the red blood, could've been a factor in not seeing the attack. I will say this though, now that the fans that were attacked (physically and verbaally) will probably never come back to the arena, that will allow more seating for Duck fans to come, possibly NEW Duck fans, and they will buy Duck merchandise generating revenue for this local team, insuring league parity when it comes to revenue. To wrap it up our officers did not make a mistake in not "calling" the attack, they were doing what they were taught to do, that being said I will insure you, traffic moved smoothly throughout the night and most children who attended last nights game were tucked in their beds only a couple of hours past bedtime. We hope the actions of the 5 innocent Duck fans, who were defenfing themselves from an irate opposing team fan, doesn't deter the rest of our 39,595 fans from coming to see a great show and having a great family night out."
