...Never stepped up? Ahem, 1994? Need we say more? Uh in 2003, after the sweep, who was their leading scorer? Fedorov ...The reason he left Detroit, do yo really want to know? Can you swallow this? In December of 2002, Ken Holland told Fedorov here is what we are offering. Fedorov told him, it looks good, but I am going through a divorce, looking for a new agent and going through some other personal issues. Can we talk about this later? Holland told him no, this offer won't be on the table long. So when finally Fedorov got his poersonal life somewhat in order, he contacted Holland and low and behold the offer went down and so did the legnth of it. The original offer was 5 years at around 11 million per. The last offer was 4 years at 10 million. Slap! Ken Holland teaches Fedorov not to play games, well Fedorov then made up his mind, (before the season was over) he was going to leave. He signed with Anaheim for the same 10million but for 5 years. PLUS he got to hang out in LA after the game instead of Detroit, BONUS!!! Holland thought he could control Fedorov, like Fedorov owed them. Well, for the longest time Fedorov made $285,000 per season, even during his MVP/Selke year. The Wings owed HIM. The Wings tried to screw him, he screwed back. Now, they want him back (as evident by the trade deadline) Holland wanted him back BAD, but (and rightly so) didn't want to part with Filpulla. Lets hope that when he calls Feds over the summer that Feds is still interested in coming back here. Who knows, he just may like playing with AO...
-
...oh noone, I am just remember back throughout the season with all the Feds naysayers. Then on the deadline when nobody, but a select few here, wanted him (and for the price Columbus was asking, I agree.) But it is funny how every anti-Fedorov person on this forum was saying how Feds is washed up, how he wasn't going to help Washington, that they wasted their prospect on him. Well, I just want to hear from those people who said Feds wouldn't help them make the playoffs and NOW here is where is is invaluable! Helped from not even a sniff of making the playoffs to first in their division. 3rd seed. Where are you guys? Sure, Val Fillpula and more would have been too much, but come UFA, Holland better get this guy...
-
...I'm sure glad Sergei Fedorov is washed up and wasn't going to be able to help the Caps. I hope we see a repeat of the 98' Cup finals this time with Fedorov eliminating the Wings... Then I want to hear everyone telling us Fedorov believers that he is washed up wouldn't have been able to help the Wings... You guys already have your foots in your mouths, why not eat the entire leg now? Idiots!

...do you want to win the cup or what? Ice it up, give him "THE SHOT" before the games and throw him in there... ...TSK TSK TSK What would Jack Lambert think? ...I thought hockey players were tough...
-
...it is almost a given that the Wings will re-sign Babcock, but if, for some reason, they don't, Igor Larionov would look wonderful behind that bench!
-
...problem is he has nobody else to put back there and Ken Holland didn't address that at the trade deadline either (considering the prices, rightly so) So he has no choice but to put Sammy there. Maybe Kenny will address it at on UFA day!
-
...well as long as thier is a provision stating that he must coach Sergei Fedorov for the next 4 years...

...chris simon should grieve his 30 game suspension for his loss of pay. Same stomp, same intent, should be same suspension. Clear as day. Duck Guy I am disappointed in you. Did you want to see a severed artery before the league does something? If his artery was severed, this man could have died from loss of blood. Does the fact that, luckily, there was no injury, change that fact? It's not like Pronger fell and accdently stomp on him, he stomped on him on purpose, with intent to injure. But, just like most of the things Chris Pronger tries to do, he failed in his attempt. Someone should stomp on his face...
-
...to any team that would want to sign me for a one game contract (against the phucks) I will end prongers career, I promise...

...I am baffled. Blatent, on video, black and white (actually in color) cut and dry, plain as day. I don't get it. Someone shold spear this guy right in the chest and make his heart stop again, no, then he'll get sympathy like the last time. Someone needs to end his career, period. I don't understand Bettman. So there was no injury, the intent was there. He stomped on his calf! WHAT IF he severed an artery in his leg? Now he would be up for assault with intent to injure charges, or worse case scenario if the cut would have been deep enough, murder charges, how sweet would that be. I swear to (whoever you may worship) that if I ever see him in public or private I would beat him down (to the best of my ability) whatever jail time I would get would be worth it...

...remember, this is McCarty from 11 years ago! I will put up the same argument that everyone else does about Fedorov. He is not the player he once was and for anyone who thinks that he is gonna come in and play like he did 11 years ago, they got a rude awaking coming! He is washed up, a virtual shadow of his former self. One thing Fedorov has over McCarty, at least he hasn't been out of hockey for nearly 2 years! ...all this man-love for an over the hill McCarty, whats the difference between him coming back and Fedorov coming back? Oh, McCarty didn't leave as a free agent (only after the Wings offered him less money than 4 months prior) so that makes him better than Fedorov at this point in their careers. Fedorov is a back stabber who left us, oh, BOO HOO! Save the rhetoric! ...before the boo birds come out, I am just as excited to see McCarty as everyone else, but I am man enough to admit that I would be stoked if Fedorov came back as a UFA... Fedorov at 38 years old is better than McCarty EVER was and still better than HALF the Wings forwards... ...I just think the double standard is hilarious! ...heres to McCarty coming back strong and helping the Wings and heres to Fedorov signing July 1st!

...11 years, wow! Hard To Believe! Proud to say I was in attendance that night. When the brawl brokeout, the Wings were losing and I can remember me and my buddy both saying, we don't even care if the Wings lose this game it has been the absolute best game we've ever been to. Period. ...This is the type of team the Wings need now. A Scotty Bowman built team...
-
...I don't know why Bettman is messing around. If you plan on involving the Wingsin an outdoor game, why not put them and the Ducks or Leafs in Michigan Stadium? Could they sell it out? I think so, and then some. Especially if you don't charge an arm and a leg to get in. Maybe $60 at the most, then I do believe they would put over 100,000 people in there. Talk about revenue and ratings!?!?!? Too bad we couldn't go back to March 26th, 1997 and put the Wings/Aves in Michigan Stadium...

...he will never score tonight. I have a better chance of winnning the lottery than Hudler scoring a goal tonight. I think Yzerman or Miroslav Frycer have a better chance than Hudler does at scoring a goal tonight...

...your avatar says it all... ...first of all, I never said I wasn't coming back, I really enjoy reading you guys worship the Wings with all your man love. They can do nothing wrong, OMG they rock! They are the best thing since, well, since the dawn of light... ...this forum would be boring if you didn't have opposing opinions to read. Do you really want to come here and just see a bunch of oooooing and ahhhhing over this team? Just because I post, doesn't mean you have to read it, besides I don't ever remember offering anything, I say what I want to say and then read assinine comments like yours TRYING, I repeat TRYING to belittle me because I don't walk down the same narrow hallway as you walk while wearing the rose colored homer glassess... ...you my friend should hand in your card, because as a TRUE fan, you should be able to see when someone's screwing up or not playing good enough or doesn't deserve to be on this team. BUT NOOOOOO!!! These Wings can do no wrong! They are, OMNIPONTENT!!! Hudler is the second coming! Darren McCarty is gonna solve or toughness AND secondary scoring! He sucks, but it's MAC!!! So we have to win the Cup now!!! OOOOOOOHHHHHH, AAAAAAAHHHHHHH...
-
:puke: ...Hudler is not straight... ...he's a non-winner... ...he isn't 100% mentally there...
-
...if anything it should be electric that night.

...is there any respect amonst PEOPLE these days...

...well I have a feeling that Kopecky will play and Drake will be out if that was the case. But Drake does have the more playoff experience, but Kopecky can net some goals better than Drake. It's a toss up! But you Wings fans are gonna be dissappointed either way I believe... I hope not though! Opie, I tried to re-apply for my card, but the Wings denied me. I am on probabtion until Fedorov is either signed by Detroit or by someone else and he is no longer available!
-
...anyhow, I am happy for Mac from a personal standpoint and the Joe will be electric the first time he steps on the ice in front of the home fans. Makes for a great NHL perseverance story. In all seriousness though, is Darren McCarty the man you are hanging your playoffs hopes on? Does this address your secondary scoring issues that more than likely will dissappear in the playoffs again? Yes the Wings have played and looked better the last 2 game and sure he will provide some spark for the fans, but how much is he really gonna help your team? ...with that being said, they should sit Hudler, he is invisible out there and they could put the Drake/Kopecky/Downey line together and plug McCarty in with Draper/Maltby and they would have have two hard hitting, grinding lins along with, dare I say, two scoring lines, although I am still very skeptical about the secondary scoring issues... Holmstrom/Datsyuk/Zetterberg Franzen/Filpulla/Cleary(when healthy) Maltby/Draper/McCarty Drake/Kopecky/Downey ...notice I left Sammy out of the lineup, I know this won't happen, so Babcock is gonna have to plug him in somewhere. Probably makes Drake the 13th forward and move Franzen down to Kopecky's line, but I think he has played well enough to be get some #2 line playing time. Oh well, either way that's your playoff forward lineup (unless for some putrid reason they keep Hudler in there.) Good luck Wings, in my opinion that just is not gonna get you a Cup, but hey, you cannot win it every year and like we've discussed, you cannot be raped by a desperate team in order to secure your 2nd line scoring, and Fedorov wasn't even a lock for that. Wings fans will have fun watching, but it will end with dissappointment unfortunately, if it doesn't, then good for you!
-
...well if McCarty works out, I think with him and Downey we have plenty of these type of players. I just hope they play together instead of Drake playing with McCarty. I guess what I am saying is I hope McCarty works out and takes Drake place NOT Downey's... ...They we don't need Avery... ...edited Opie. Is this better? How about YOU don't need Avery...
-
...the problem is, Dom doesn't even disguise it has him going for the puck. Expecially the first time he did it this year he made no attempt at the puck, he just skated out a slid into the player, tripping him. He is gonna do this in the playoffs and the WILL call him for the trip and we will lose the series on that powerplay... ...I like poke Czech, but I got a name for it that fits even better. PENALTY! Dom, stay the F**K in you net!!! ...btw, this is another good example as to why goalies should be fair game when they attempt something assinine as this. If they can come out, WAAAAY out of their net and just blatently take the player out while pretending to go after the puck, without being penalized, then they should be fair game. Then he would stop this stupid S**T. Just call the penalty already...
-
...nope, apparently, as the article said, the Wings still wanted to get Fedorov, despite the fact that Babcock MAY have been the one who didn't want him. That is UNTIL Columbus tried to rape Holland, then he said, #$@# Off! ...this will lay to rest IF Fedorov doesn't sign here in July. If he signs elsewhere THEN it'll be laid to rest...
