...man, I know drafts are a crapshoot, but in 1990 Martin Brodeur was picked 20th overall. The Wings picked Keith Primeau 3rd overall. Forget not picking Jagr, what about not picking Brodeur. As far as I can remember the Wings didn't have a hot goalie at that time, sure they drafted Osgood in 89, but they had Stefan/Hanlon/Cheveldae and St. Laurant as their goalies the year prior. I guess you can argue that Cheveldae was supposed to be the ONE, he did win 30 games in 90-91, but man could you imagine if they would have drafted Broduer? Shoulda Coulda Woulda...

...not surprising about this guy. Ever since Fox started broadcastingback in the early 90's, not ONE commentator has ever given the Red Wings their just due, until they had to. The best was ABC/ESPN in 2002 game 7 Wings/Aves. All they talked about is how Roy was unbeaten in game 7's. Every player profile was an Ave. Then after it was 4-0 in the first, they had nothing else prepared so they still had to show the clips of how great Roy was when in the clutch. HA HA HA, I bet the NON-Hockey fans that were watching (you know there were, that is why Bettman is still in charge he has made the NHL real sport! LOL!) anyhow, if there were any watching they were probably saying WTF is ABC smoking? This guy just gave up 6 goals and was pulled from the game! LOL! LOL! LOL! Eat that Networks!!!! The only network guy that gives the Wings props during a game and during a series is Dave Strader, of course it's obvious why. Thorne, Clement, McGuirre, Milbury, ABC, NBC, FOX, ESPN, VS, TSN you all suck. There's nothing like Mickey and Ken (except Mickey and Dave.) Well Bruce Martyn and Paul Woods are a close second to them... ...anyhow, I hope they play Colorado so they can show Forsberg where he SHOULD have signed, but yeah, the Ave Love is gonna be horrible!!! Of course if they draw Calgary, it won't be much better on CBC, but at least you know why they are that way when a Canadian team plays a U.S. team. I'm dumbfouned by the networks in the states...

Osgood deserves EVERY accolade he earns, and if you think he has the stats he has ONLY because he played for Detroit, then put Bob Essensa back in net for all these years, how good are they then? Dude, I love your name and I agree with 91 to the rafters, and expect 30 to go up as well he has earned it, he is number 2 behind Sawchuk (less than 100 Red Wing wins than Sawchuk.) And considering most of Osgood's career was spent as the 1a or 1b goaltender and Sawchuk played nearly EVERY game that says alot. #30 will go up especially if they get anywhere NEAR a cup in the next three years... 5/91/30 the next numbers to go up!

...Sammy out, who cares if Helm had ONE GOOD GAME, this is the playoffs, you ride who's hot, I am the furthest thing from a Hudler fan, but he's scoring and that is what they need, ride Hudler, ride Helm. Sammy has done naught. When Maltby comes back, no doubt Sammy should sit. Just like Lilja is sitting now. If it comes down to getting pushed around in the next round, then stick Sammy and Lija back in... If the Wings draw Colorado, it will be a fast paced series, they will need Helm and Lebda in there. No they won't make the playoffs, Pronger will be traded and the duckies will be just another one hit wonder "Bettman" team, meanwhile the Devils, Red Wings, Aves, Rangers, Stars, etc... are STILL making a splash in the playoffs. In December of 2002, Ken Holland told Fedorov here is what we are offering. Fedorov told him, it looks good, but I am going through a divorce, looking for a new agent and going through some other personal issues. Can we talk about this later? Holland told him no, this offer won't be on the table long. So when finally Fedorov got his poersonal life somewhat in order, he contacted Holland and low and behold the offer went down and so did the legnth of it. The original offer was 5 years at around 11 million per. The last offer was 4 years at 10 million. Slap! Ken Holland teaches Fedorov not to play games, well Fedorov then made up his mind, (before the season was over) he was going to leave. He signed with Anaheim for the same 10million but for 5 years. PLUS he got to hang out in LA after the game instead of Detroit, BONUS!!! Holland thought he could control Fedorov, like Fedorov owed them. Well, for the longest time Fedorov made $285,000 per season, even during his MVP/Selke year. The Wings owed HIM. The Wings tried to screw him, he screwed back. Now, they want him back (as evident by the trade deadline) Holland wanted him back BAD, but (and rightly so) didn't want to part with Filpulla. Lets hope that when he calls Feds over the summer that Feds is still interested in coming back here. Who knows, he just may like playing with AO...

Then on the deadline when nobody, but a select few here, wanted him (and for the price Columbus was asking, I agree.) He is not the player he once was and for anyone who thinks that he is gonna come in and play like he did 11 years ago, they got a rude awaking coming! Oh, McCarty didn't leave as a free agent (only after the Wings offered him less money than 4 months prior) so that makes him better than Fedorov at this point in their careers.
