...it looked like Chara killed him, but that is exactly what happens when you hit the helmet. The helmet did the damage, Chara did nothing. you can see chara checking his hand as he skated toward to p-box. Kudos to the guy for standing in there after getting cut by the helmet...

...anyone remember when Probie accidently popped the linesman with a punch when he jumoped in to break up a fight? After the fight, Probie seemed more concerned about the lines man than his own aches and pains. Bloodied his nose too!

...actually it's been more than last season. I wanna say it's been at least 4 if not 5. When he first stopped traveling the announcers were Pat Verbeek & Shawn Burr (I believe Doug Brown even did some) who would replace Mickey. That went on for a couple of seasons, then Murphy took over for one of those guys (not sure which) and he would alternate with the other, but now it seems that Murphy won the job outright. IMO Pat Verbeek was the best out of all 4, Shawn Burr was the worst, yes even worse than Murphy. I think Verbeek has a bright future in broadcasting, he was very articulate. (if he chose to go in that direction)

...CBA rules state that you cannot negotiate until the player is IN the last year of the contract. So, Holland CANNOT be on that until the 2008-09 season starts...

(of course I was hoping they'd take him in the draft, but if it wouldn't cost more than Kronwall, then I'd be for it) ...those "big" bodies that Holland seeks will come in the form of Forsberg and Fedorov both at the deadline (I know Forsberg is a UFA but he is oft injured and won't play until the playoffs basically) and at the expense of Hudler (via the trade for Feds) and Kopecky via the UFA aquisition of Forsberg... (hey now I sound as confident as Eklund.) ...Of course the guy I've been clammering about the entire summer is still available and will play for pennies, Adam Hall. He's big, strong and can bang around, but I am sure that Holland wants to get some more scoring on one of his #2-4 lines... ...I say get Feds now, put him as your #2 center with Cleary and Flips on his wing or put him on the wing with one of the wonder twins...

...first off Zetterberg ISN'T a UFA until 2009, so the cap room for this summer will not be spent on him (or anyone of significance because he will need it for Zetterberg in summer 2009...) We'll have another dissappointing UFA season in 2008... ...second, hands down Zetterberg gets the spot and the money. I'll trade Datsyuk to free up the money in order to sign Zetterberg if it comes down to it...

...lets see. Start Osgood and sit Hasek while he makes $4 million. That is why. But I totally agree with you. Ozzie should be our #1. Shoot, he's only been the best golaie we've had since Sawchuck and that is like comparing apples and oranges. Osgood has earned his status here in Detroit and honestly he should be making more money that Hasek...

...I've been saying it all along, Fedorov at 37 years old (december 13th) is better than most of our team. He could easily be the #1 or #2 center on this team. Make the deal as soon as possible. I won't hit the panic button unless this team is still playing this crappy in December, but even at 3-1-1 we haven't really earned it. Someone earlier mention that that would give us a a projected 114 or so points, well that is all fine and dandy, but there are no shoot-outs in the playoffs, we cannot rely on lazy play just to try and salvage 1 point and try for the extra. I think the whole "each team gets a point in overtime" ruined the excitment of OT. If you lose, you lose, you get nothing, good day sir! And get rid of the SHOOT OUT!!!! ...Fedorov and Forsberg are looking pretty good right about now, they'll look REAL good in december if this team is hanging around the middle of the pack, only then Columbus will KNOW we need FEDS, so they will rape us in return. Get him now, trade Hudler and a pick, while we still aren't DESPERATE! ...BTW when it comes time to choose between Datsyuk and Zetterberg, Zetterberg hands down, he may not have the dispy doo of Dats, but he is bar none the more powerful and better all around player. HE WILL BE THE NEXT CAPTAIN...

...lets all get rational here. We have problems when all we have is one good line (and Dats is stinking up the ice on that line.) For the life of me I don't know why Cleary isn't on the 2nd line, Sammy absolutely is out of his element in the NHL. Someone earlier said Fedorov won't help this team, HAHAHAHAHA, Fedorov is better than most of our team right now! I'd put him on the first line with Zetterberg and Holmstrom. Lilja does suck, he has no business being on the ice, it's not Hasek's fault, although for $4 million I will blame him a little. Babcock must be fired. His system is garbage. The 'D' will do minus Lilja. Hudler, Sammy, Kopecky, Maltby you guys got to go! Drake is doing what he was signed to do. Datsyuk needs to become the old (pre zillion dollar contract) Datsyuk soon, or he can catch the first a320 out of here too! I'd rather cut Lilja, Sammy, Kopecky & Hudler and bring in some players that REALLY want to play, or should I say CAN play. Feds would GREATLY improve this team as would have a few other UFA's that we passed on just so we can give Hasek & Datsyuk WAAAAAAYYYY too much money. Sure it's early, sure we started similar last season, but if things don't change by December, heads better start rolling. Thus far, in all the games this season, the Wings have looked Horrible! Just my opinion...

...looks like we'll be making that trade for Fedorov sooner than the deadline. This team is horrible in it's current state. They have looked nowhere near dominant or even consistant in the games they've played so far. Hudler absolutely sucks as does the entire Kopecky line.... Our number two line blows, with the exception of Filpulla... ...this team is in a sad shape right now too bad their record doesn't show it... (it soon will) ....get rid of Babcock and his crew, bring in Larionov as head coach...

...the wings will play another ho-hum boring game and win it or lose it in OT or at the very end. more than likely lose it. Wings = Boring Hockey. datsyuk & Hasek = OVERPAID!!! Should have traded Datsyuk when he was worth something...
