...oh welll! ...one question, what happened to the rule about not being able to push the goalie into the net while h has the puck? Even the annoucers said that Rob N. pushed him enough to force the puck over the line. Not that it matters now, but I am just curious about that one...

...the only thing I am NOT looking forward to in this round is the Network's ASS kissing and BALL licking all over Pronger and Neidermeyer... ...I am gonna puke, I know it!

Look to the right and read Bill Clement's prediction!!!! Hillarious! He has never forgiven Detroit for beating his beloved Flyers!!!

Here is just a quick view of some of Hasek stats, both in Buffalo and here in Detroit. Pretty much the same... YEAR W / L-GAA-SAV- 06-07 38-11 2.05 .913 01-02 41-15 2.17 .915 98-99 30-18 1.87 .937 97-98 33-23 2.09 .932 96-97 37-20 2.27 .930 93-94 30-20 1.93 .930

ok...I'll prove all your points wrong... 1. Sharks are bigger (Flames were bigger) 2. Sharks are Younger (Flames were younger) 3. Sharks are faster (Hmmm need i say Flames were faster) 4. Nearly all the experts pic the Sharks (Once again, Flames too) 5. Hasek is a Shadow of his former self. (Here's the interesting one. Lets look at his former self.) 2006-07 38-11 2.05 .913 2001-02 41-15 2.17 .915 1998-99 30-18 1.87 .937 1997-98 33-23 2.09 .932 1996-97 37-20 2.27 .930 1993-94 30-20 1.93 .930 .....I hardly call those stats a SHADOW of his former self..... 6. The Wings struggled against a very inferior team in rd 1. (Uhh... did you watch the series? The only thing that struggled was their power play and penalty kill in games 3&4. We like more than doubled their shots, outscored them 18-10, held there top line to like 3 goals, I would say they Struggled against the #1 team in the Western Conference.) 7. Holmstrom is Out (..well, sure he is a valuable asset to this team, but he only had 1 assist in 6 games against the flames, and was only a plus 1. Put almost ANYONE on that ine and the Euro-twins make them shine. No worries here.) 8. Kronwall is Out (uh... he's been out since the first play of Game 1 basically. No loss there. no worries.) 9. Lebda is out for game 1 (...sure, we'll mis his speed, but Quincey stepped in and had a great game. Plus, the loss of Lebda was overshadowed by the Win in Calgary (only the best home team in the NHL over the regular season.)) 10. Sharks in 5.... Keep dreaming. If no-show Joe plays, and we own Nabby like usual, I would say Wings in 5, if not a sweep... ...you should come with some better reasons than that if you want to try to convince us that the Sharks will beat the Wings. Maybe you are trying to convince yourself, but if these are the only reasons you have, you will be sadly disappointed...
-
...ok, here is what most fans of opposing teams forget. Hasek time to shine is the playoffs. So the Sharks scored 8 goals on him, lets look over the coarse of the season how many games has Hasek given up 6 or 8 goals? Hmmmmm.... ....Hasek is the ultimate big game player. Sure he makes a mistake once in a great while, but ALWAYS makes up for it with something huge! No WAY the Sharks score 6 goals on him.
-
...yes, just look at the SOG. If it hadn't been for Kipper the flipper, we'd have swept them and outscored them 90-10! ...yet the Wings handily won the season series 6-2 (with one of those losses in OT) ...just replace the words Sharks with Flyers and this sounds like 1997 all over again. Anyone care to remind this guy what happened then?
-
...note to Ron Wilson. This is our 17th straight year in the playoffs.
-
...on a side note, IF we do get to the next round, I REALLY hope the Ducks DON'T. I don't know if I can stomach all the **** sucking the NBC annoucers are going to be doing on Pronger and Neidermeyer... ...oh, I just hurled thinking about it...

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....

...sounds like the Flyers headlines before game 1 of the 1997 Stanley Cup Finals... ...remind me what happened that year... -
...law of averages... ...just when they are NOT expected to win, the do... ...they HAVE won out west plenty of times...
-
...not that this warrents an answer, but first of all Osgood would NEVER do that. I can't remember a time when Ozzie EVER swung his stick like that, excpet when he was scoring a goal in Hartford... ...but to entertain you question, I personally would be appalled (sp.) There is no room in the NHL for ANY kind of two hand, intent to injure, slash/chop at another player, especially after the whistle! I would be speechless if one of our guys did it... ...now Calgary fans, please stop defending the goonery...

TSN reporting Lebda has suffered concussion
LeftWinger replied to omnipotent_hudler's topic in General
...hip checks are not vicious. If executed wrong they can injure. Hip check attempted, not a career ending attempt. Punch on purpose. ***** can't take a check. Wah Wah. Ok, guys, we're losing, start injuring people. Wonder what would be being said if Dom hatcheted one of your players. Hmmmmm..... -
Change of Pace: Slava Kozlov
LeftWinger replied to LionsAndRedwingsAndPistonsOhMy's topic in General
...that is the one thing that was CONSISTANT with Kozzie. 20-30 goals a year and super play-off performer. BUT, would he be the same without Igor and Sergei? ...speaking of Igor, and not to change the subject. But if the Wings get knocked out of the first again, fire Babcock and bring in Igor as the first Russian Head Coach in the NHL. Maybe Papa Bear would be Asst... ...SLAP! Ok, ok I'm awake now! Sheesh! -
Change of Pace: Slava Kozlov
LeftWinger replied to LionsAndRedwingsAndPistonsOhMy's topic in General
...he could replace Sammy. Maybe Lang. Would he pull senority on the #13 though? ...nostalga aside, I'd take both Kozzie and Feds back in place of Sammy and Lang... (they'd have to sign of $2MM or less though and for no more than 2-3 years) -
...I agree, some fans are calling it over. The ONLY reason on got on the GDT and said I was sick and tired and was turning it off is because Gary Bettmans rules are making this sport no fun to watch. Sure I was frustrated with the power-less play, sure I was frustrated with the lack of production from the #1 line. I was MORE frustrated with the crap calls (both ways.) Bettman has ruined this game, he has made it so, longtime hockey fans cannot enjoy a game. Sure some guy in Alabama might tune in, but ya know what, as soon as the race comes on, he turns it! Hockey is a regional sport, not a national one! Bettman has gained very few fans around the USA, but lost tons! I am borderline one of those fans he is about to lose! Fire Bettman! Bring back the NHL, for real!
-
...that's it! I cannot watch another minute of what USED to be Hockey! Sheesh! I cannot beleive how bad the game has been ruined with the crap they call penalties!!! Obvious penaties are NOT called and crap like Datsyuk and Iginla's hooking calls, although Jeromes was closer to being a hook than Dats, but Sheesh, if the REAL game of Hockey was being played NEITHER of those would have been. And neither would half the calls tonight! I'm done! Until Betman is fired and the game is restored, I will not watch another game, even if the Wings go on to win the Cup, my taste buds are ruined! Thanks Bettman you f&cking a$$hole! I am shutting my DVR off right now! I quit!

...not exactly true. Cherry was complimentive of Fedorov when he first entered the league. He said (while talking about Feds during a Toronto/Detroit game) "At least you guys (Red Wings) got one who is not afraid to throw a body check." That is about it though. I do believe he like Vladdy as well. But, alas, the likes of Vladdy and a young Fedorov are long gone and the mold has been broken, now all we get out of Russia are skilled players. Which we accept... ...the men or women?
-
...ok, sorry if this has been asked already, I don't have the time to scan through 22 pages... ...what effect, if any, does this signing have on the chances of re-signing Bertuzzi? He would be nice to have around to give SOME protection to Dats...
-
Do you think the Wings will bring back Fedorov for next year's pla
LeftWinger replied to wilka91's topic in General
...I would want him back in a second! He should have never been allowed to leave (it that were possible to stop) But commenting on your re-established statement, Fedorov would do nothing but make Dats & Zets even better, along with re-establishing his offensive career. He can still fly, he can still score, he still has unbelievable moves. He is just on the wrong team. He would and could come in and be put on a wing with Dats or Zets, or keep those two together and he could be second line center. I, for one, hope it happens. And yes he will be a UFA in 2008. And I think he may re-sign for a hefty paycut to finish his career "home." (and the chance to win again) -
Dumbest thing you've ever heard another teams fans say

...you see, Nashville fans cannot think of anything smarter to say than 'sucks.' So, in turn, everything and everybody 'sucks.' Give them a few more years in the league and maybe they'll come up with something that doesn't actually reflect their I.Q's. ...also Legionaire, that glorious home record you have means nothing when you're only playing in front of half a stadium. The author is right, if it weren't for the likes of Detroit, et al, the Preds franchise would be one of those looking for a new home. Enjoy your team while they last, because once they stop winning, there will be NO support from the community and then you can stop explaining to us why everyone else sucks. ...BTW has anyone heard anything from any AVES fans recently? Seems that since now that they really do, to coin a Nashville phrase, "SUCK" there is no point in anyone comng on here and telling us how much we "SUCK." I can remember all the Colorado trolls that came on here telling us to stick our History up our arses, and Detoilet sucks because Colorado has the best fans and the best team and they will NEVER stop winning, then they said something along the lines of they are creating their own history and the AVES will always be better than the Wings, and so on... well, look now, no AVES in the playoffs, no fans to deal with. Soon as your owners attempt to re-sign your UFA's and claim they cannot pay them what they are worth, they too will bolt and soon your team WILL be dwelling in the cellar. It's coming, you better prepare yourself now...

yeah you guys are right. yes sir, whatever makes you happy. No opinoin here. Mum is the word.

...I'll give you two teams I'd rather have for toughness... 1989-90 Detroit Red Wings: Probert, Kocur, Gallant, Norwood, McClelland, McKay, Robertson & Chris McRae 1990-91 Detroit Red Wings: Probert, Kocur, Gallant, Norwood, McClelland, McKay, Potvin & Vial ...I think losing McKay still hurts... ...of course for all time greatest Wings lineup for Skill, Toughness, Grit and all of the above: 1996-97. That team would wipe the floor with Anaheim in ALL aspects of the game...
