  1. very disappointed in the return. 4th round pick? I know the conditions, but Green has to play 50% of their games as well. Holland is not going to allow that. PLUS we retained 50% salary? This pick should've been a conditional 2nd. Also, what was the point of acquiring a player who is on LTIR? Holland could've just kept Brodziak on LTIR himself and it wouldn't have mattered. Edmonton wins this trade. Is this revenge for KFQ? I agree with all your thoughts, AA better net us a 1st and a prospect or just keep him. Hopes to Daley, Bernier also going today. I see there may be some interest in disney.com, but honestly I'd rather trade Helm.
  2. Kovi and Ovi together.....wow!
  3. Hmmm, to whom and for whom/what? Kinda hoping Bernier gets moved as well, PLUS if we're dealing AA and Green, that's another $8.3M we can add to our $11M available cap, let's get some expiring UFA contracts too! Come on let's go! we can pretty much acquire $20M in contract tomorrow to help out some Cup contenders! ALL your 1st's are ours!
  4. in all seriousness, would AA and Helm get us Bouchard from EDM?
  5. We have over $11M available deadline cap space available BEFORE we move anyone, which could possibly open up $6M-$9M if not more! Which teams do you see wanting to dump salaries tomorrow in order to acquire "The Missing Piece" and which players/picks/prospects would you like to see here? I'd like Bokk or Suzuki please
  6. BTW, I'd take Byfuglien off Winnipeg's hands along with their 1st round pick. I don't even care if he'll play next year.
  7. Let's get this party going today! Bernier and Svechto CAROLINA Green and disney.com to Toronto AA and Helm to EDMONTON Fabbri to Colorado (I'd actually like to keep Fabbri, but if the return is nice!) Nielsen to Isles Daley and Ericsson to Grand Rapids Teams! Give us all your OVERPAID contracts UFA for some of dem picks and prospects!
  8. I can not LIKE this enough! WOw this would be great!

regarding Tamps, and also Byfuglien, heard that Winnipeg has exhausted all trade possibilities for him, I am surprised that Tampa didn't go for him considering their lack of grit and toughness, for a Cup run this season. He is a UFA after this year. Not unless Winnipeg was looking for a big return for him. I do believe that TSN has reported that any team that may acquire him would only be hit with a $1.8M-ish cap hit for the rest of the season.
  10. on TSN's trade bait, AA sits at 7, Green at 35, but at 21 is "Detroit's Cap Space" We could see some big contracts on this team next week and some multiple high round picks!
  11. I would think Byram is untouchable but maybe not. I would for sure take Byram and a 2nd for those two, I wouldn't even care to get a contract player.
  12. Here's a good example of attaining expiring contracts along with picks to give a team some cap relief: Arizona is right up against the cap NEXT season, sure the cap may go up a bit, but if they want to be serious players in re-signing Hall (if he wants to stay) then they have to shed some serious cap. I'll take Derek Stepan ($5M) and G Antii Raanta ($4.25M) both of which will be UFA in 2021 and a 2021 1st round pick (IF NJ keeps the 2020 1st) in exchange for a prospect of our own and of course much needed cap relief. Of course this is a scenario if we traded Bernier this monday for sure, but then again, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have them both next season.
  13. I'd take Vlad on 4 year $5.5M in place of 2 more years of Nielsen at $5.25... when we trade Filppula and Helm by Monday (50% retained each) we are going to need an NHL center. Of course this hinges on the draft. Will Byflied or Stutzle be NHL ready next year? (if we don't get #1 that is)
  14. I mean honestly though, who could we be scouting from their NHL roster? I am sure if we dealt AA, it'd be for a pick or a player in the A or maybe the rights to a player. I'd like to see AA and Bernier go to a team that is in need of both, the return could be more lucrative for us, and not just because it's two players. Maybe a high end prospect and a 2nd.

    2020 Draft Thread

I really hope to get the #1, but #2 will be great as well. If we drop to #4, I'll be a bit disappointed, but honestly, I can remember when we drafted a young player (that was not our first target) at #4 and it sure worked out better than any of the three ahead of him. BTW, this player is currently our GM. I really think that is we drop to #2, Yzerman may still want Stutzle, in which he may be able to trade the #2 to the #3 team so they can have Byfield. Or maybe acquire another 1st or top prospect for future considerations, in which those considerations will be to NOT draft Byfield at #2. Yzerman gets NJ's other 1st (via ARZ) for example, and drafts Stutzle at #2 then another top player at 12. (of course just guessing where the NJ and ARZ picks end up) and NJ gets their player at #3....unless their player is Stutzle too! 1. Montreal 2 Detroit 3. New Jersey 12. New Jersey (via ARZ)
  16. WEST Here are the playoff teams and the top 4 Wild Cards in each Conference. We know we aren't getting more than picks for most of the players we might deal, but with each of these teams, what would you like to see in return for a AA package? Let's say A team wants AA and Helm (50% salary retained for Helm.)
  17. Trade Green Trade Daley Trade Bernier Trade Helm and AA in a package for big return. AT LEAST a 1st, High prospect & NHL Player. Trade Filppula Trade Nielsen Trade Ehn and Svech too...
  18. that's why he is valuable. He started the play and ended the play with an absolute highlight goal!
  19. Hmmmm, Ken Daniels just referenced Gallant as Spuddy Gallant. Wonder why....
  20. boy Mike Green is useless. He is taking up for the lack of Ericsson.

So Verbeek has been seen a lot in Denver. Winder who he's watching. you wouldn't think that if they were just trading for a pick that he'd be in town watching games. Especially the Asst. GM.

Why not right? Tampa had a 1st to give. Since the 2020 1st (van) is protected by the 2021 1st, I'll give them a break and take their 2022 1st (protected) and Cal Foote. Their thank you for us waiting for the 2022 pick will be Mat Joseph. to TPA : Andreas Athanasiou to DET : 2022 1st (lottery protected) Calen Foote, Mathieu Joseph.

Don't know. I am just throwing stuff out there. I did not know he was doing well, like I said, I haven't heard his name too often, so I nearly forgot we had him.

I totally forgot we had Rasmussen. Has he been hurt? Anyhow, I wonder what Holland would give us for Ras and Cholo along with AA? Hmmm....could be a nice return!

Ok, fair enough. Let me pose this question then. If you had the #1, and the #2 team came calling (whoever it would be from the non playoff teams) who would you trade it for in addition to the #2 (assuming Byfield) and a high end prospect from the same team? (please no mention of McDavid since EDM won't be trading him) to : TPA - The #1 Overall pick, 3rd round pick to DET - The #2 Overall pick, Brayden Point, Both Foote brothers I'd have to consider it, unless Byfield is a huge step down from Lafreniere. I'd also listen to offers from the #3 team, because if Yzerman wants a C, he could go with Stutzle at 3, and really rake in the picks/players/prospects from either team... I know Tampa is in right now, that's just an example... How about Florida? Would the #2, Ekblad and Serron Noel or Spencer Knight get it done? (notice I did NOT mention Tippet, ) Let me add, I have nothing against Lafreniere, I would be ecstatic if we won the lottery and drafted him! 1,000,000%
