With Nash being traded and with the pending time to run out for Nashville to match Shea, the log jam of waiting may start to free up in the next few days

Very interesting online pole considering the Nashville Organization has used the Wings as a template and bumped us from the playoffs this year in 5 games. The timing is couldn't be worse considering many people in Detroit are still mending due to the loss of Lids and Suter no signing here. On top of that, whole Shea debacle with his play against Hank and the offer sheet being from Philly. Don't put too much thought into it folks, the intent was for fun, but now it is turning ugly.

And he also cherry picked a lot and had no defensive upswing to his game... As others have mentioned, the Flyers have a solid team... Shore up the D even more may help the tending

There should be a limit on how long a contract can be in correlation to the players age, maybe capping it at age 38-40 yrs old. Arbitration rules need to be tweaked - players should only get money based on other similar players salaries + performance based over 2-3 seasons averaged together. Avoid the last year in contract year and they play harder to get more money? If a player signs a long term contract, that said team should not be able to trade that said player for a minimum of 3 or 4 seasons.

I don't think the Preds have the cash and it sounds like Shea wants out... The entire atmosphere of the team changed and he wants to compete for a cup... He is jumping from a sinking ship... I think he agreed to a deal knowing it won't be matched...

Issue at hand was offense during the playoffs, we couldn't score.... Also, that was my point, no one should be laughing as one another... On a side note, Lids still was the best D man we had and one of the best in the league even at 42 yrs of age... Philly just got a whole lot better

If I was the head coach, I do know I would be frustrated how things have turned out the last few years and especially if the defensive core that was lost isn't replaced...

Maybe Holland sent Johan to Cedar Point and Boyne Water Park to have more fun this summer so he will be ready for the regular season... As we all know, if Johan is relaxed, happy, and havig fun, he will be a happy mule. On a side note, I doubt the trade talks will motivate him.

You are spot on Barnes... His time may be limited and will be brought up from GR at times... He needs to get use to playing is NA first and transitioned.

I don't think some are questioning his capacity to still be a productive player, but at the current moment, he wouldn't be an ideal fit for the team. There are plenty of other players who are currently with the organization and would be just as effective as Modano. Mike would only log limited minutes and it would be on the 4th line. The team is in need of defense and then a forward would can play top minutes on the 1st or 2nd line.

Have to keep them separated as they will center two different lines I would think even though Pavs is considered a wing? Like others have mentioned, not enough depth at the current moment unless we obtain another higher end forward. -
