We were playing Western Conference teams in their buildings, no lead is safe. Give the Wings credit for going 4-1-1 on this road trip! This road trip proved we can beat every team in the League. If we were blowing leads at home, then worry.

It worked in my NHL15 game FYI, Howard has a better SV% in the playoffs then the regular reason, of course he'll be our goalie in the playoffs. Looking at the career Red Wings leaders, I think an All-Time Wings team should include: Forwards: Yzerman, Howe, Lindsay, Abel, Shanahan, Delvecchio, Fedorov, Ullman, Datsyuk, Zetteberg, Draper, and Holmstrom Defense: Lidstrom, Larson, Pronovost, Kelly, Kronwall, and Chelios Goalies: Sawchuk, Osgood You can set the lines anyway you want As much as I wanted to put Konstantinov on the team, it's not his fault, but he only played 6 years, Chelios played 10 as a Wing as was one of the all-time greats. Also, Draper and Holmstrom made the team due to them playing 1,000 games and being on 4 Cup winning teams. If people want more skilled players, that's fine. Interesting debate. It's long over due the Leafs decide to do a proper rebuild. I hope fans and media are aware and prepared for how long this will take. They're stuck with their core players for the next 4-7 years. 4 of the worst contracts in the league are in Toronto, Kessel, Phaneuf, Lupul, and Clarkson. Good luck trying to find anyone to take them off your hands. Kessel's a great player, but who's willing to have him till 2022? Add to that they don't have any top prospects in the minors. This is just like an expansion team starting from scratch. It's an 8-12 year turn around, that's how bad it's got in Toronto.

I'll add the Leafs are not only stuck with Kessel, but with Phaneuf, Lupul, Clarkson, Van Riemsdyk, and Bozak too, for 3 years or more. All of those guys are overpaid. Add to that, after this year Kadri and Bernier need new contracts. What a mess. It's going to take 10-12 years to turn that franchise around.

I don't think this lawsuit is a joke. Hockey for years was using violence and head shots to promote their game. I do give the NHL credit for cleaning up the game. I don't miss the fights at all, especially after I read about the physical pain McCarty is experiencing now after years of fighting. It's not worth it.

I'd bet this is the lowest point in the Leafs history. They don't have a clue how the cap works, their core players are all overpaid and signed for at least 4 years, there's no way they'll get rid of any of them. There's no good young players coming up. For them to turn it around and build a contender, it'll take 12 years.

He was never going to Toronto. Only desperate coaches sign there. and has nothing better to do for the next 12 years. It's a 12 year turn around to make the Leafs into a contender.

Draper and Lemieux on the same ice.... I don't care if McCarty has made up with Lemieux, he'll always be scum to me.

With Nyquist and Smith up for contracts, we won't have cap room to sign Franson long term, but for a 2nd round player, I'd make this trade.

I hope Edmonton doesn't end up with the #1 overall pick, that would be a crime. I live an hour west of Buffalo, I hope they get McDavid, they deserve him.

My condolences to those people that wanted to tank this year, we're too good. Hate to say I told you so, but I was one of the few who stood by Holland and was made fun of, I guess we were right. Usually when an organization loses franchise players like Yzerman and Lidstrom, it takes 10-20 years to recover. This has to be one of the best rebuilds on the fly ever.

I agree, I think the League did everything they could to help Pittsburgh win in 2009. There was also Game 6 when the refs forgot how to count to 6. I know a lot of NFL fans are crying "fix" with some of the weird calls the last 2 weeks, but I think the NHL is a lot worse when it comes to weird things going on with their officials. Bettman is a dictator if you ask me. Anyway, I think Ozzie should be in the Hall of Fame no question. He had 400+ career wins, and was one of the best big game goalies of his era behind Brodeur and Roy. Ozzie was more clutch then Belfour and Hasek.

Right, there's no way Babcock goes to the Leafs. It's just typical Toronto media clueless garbage. Babs will either re-sign with the Wings or be given huge $ to go to a team ready to win a Championship. Babs won't waste 10 years of his life trying to gut and re-build the Leafs.
