Truer words cannot be (typed in this case). Even at $99 a seat it's pretty darn expensive. Most of those seats go first so then your looking at spending even more. I was lucky enought to see game 1 of the conference finals in 2002. They didn't seem that expensive back then.

Happy birthday Steve! It's always great to still be alive and kicking in the playoffs when it's your birthday.

Great Win Guys!!!!! LETS GO RED WINGS!!!!!

Although I think Brodeur will win the Vezina, I too think Hasek should have been a finalist. He played one hell of a season for a 40+year-old guy. It's absolutely sickening that Lundqvist is there in his place.

I never miss a beat when it comes to Wings games. Of course I stayed up until after 1:00am. I woke up at 6:30 like usual. I usually start to feel the affects of it around 2:00pm the next day though.

I have to agree with Kozac. I thought that he played pretty well last night. He's not the most offensively gifted but he is throwing his weight around a bit more this series. He's very defensively responsible. I don't know what it is but he's much better this series than last.

Add the two posts that Schnieds hit and it could've been 3-3. It's easy to play the numbers blame game. The Wings failed to bring it for 60 again, that's all. They'll be more prepared for game 4, no question about it.

That hit was SICK! The guy must've tried to get up three or four times after the hit and just kept falling to the ice. Yikes!!!!

I did read something about that yesterday and I thought it was in Ansar Khan's bolg but I can't find it anymore. I hope that the report isn't true but form the sounds of it we might have to find a way to win this series without Homer.

Did anyone else start to see flashes of the chemistry that made the Datsyuk-Zetterberg combo so dangerous in January-February. They may have been kept off the score sheet but they are finding that magic once again. The best example of that was during the 3rd period (I think) when they were basically playing catch along the boards with the puck. San Jose didn't know what to do. It was actually pretty funny because they were moving the puck so fast between one another the Sharks were just standing around it seemed. This could be a great sign if it continues.

God, I must have yelled at least twenty times last night at the TV when those rebounds jumped out. I realize that if the D were to pinch in they might get caught but there were a bunch of times that someone crashing the net could've knocked one in. Holmstrom my be the key piece that we are missing at this point. I hope he can make it back sooner than game 4.

OMG!!!! That has to be one of the funniest interviews I've ever read! LOL!!

Good luck Sharks fans. This should be a great series.

That's pretty cool. Great pics of the plane too.

It may be insane but it's funny how quite a few times the crowd thought there was a missed call and booed the ref's called a penalty within a minute or so after. It happened at least 4 times last night and 3 times the previous game. Keep in mind that I'm not blaming our losses on the ref's but I guess my homer glasses see it one way and yours see it the other. It's a moot point nonetheless.

I'll agree with you to a point. I think you're partly right about the x's and o's style of play. For example, I feel like when the Wings try so damn hard on the PP to get the shot from the point it works totally against them in the playoffs (at least in the last few series). Last night the Flames totally took away anything from down near the net in the 3rd period especially. The Wings need to isolate the guys at the sides of the net to get the cross-ice passing clicking. That's how we're going to beat Kipper. I do think that the Wings out-played the Flames in the first couple of games though by dumping and chasing. We were faster and because of our puck control style we were able to draw more penalties. It's really a tale of two series right now. I think the team that carries the play more is the one that comes out on top; penalty-wise and the like.

That's the way I saw it too. I didn't understand the call at all unless it was for diving.
-
Sometimes I think I may be . The first part was a little tongue-in-cheek but somewhat the truth because if we lose the next game it's going to take monumental effort to take game 6 in Calgary.

Hey Offsides, Lang got his game back a bit last night. I thought he played his best game inthe series so far. That's a good sign.

I know it's an old bit but you can't honestly say that the officiating was very fair last night. They called at least 4 penalties shortly after the crowd booed their ears off. It's frustrating when you can almost count on a call after the crowd boos. With that said, I agree with you about the Wings play at least in the PK and PP. They were terrible. I give credit to the Flames who took the play to them. Especially in the waning minutes of the 3rd period. The Wings could barely get out of their own zone.

I'll add some positivity to this thread too. I'm "postively" sure that if the Wings don't come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow afternoon, the series is over. With that said, I believe that we will have the advantage tomorrow. Bert is looking more like the player that we expected him to be. Hasek has to be beating himself up a bit and that will be good motivation for a better game tomorrow. The line changes were somewhat effective other than the DZH line which has seemed to disappear. I believe that be more effective tomorrow because Homer will park his big body in front of the net more. The only question mark, IMO, is how much Kipper will stand on his head tomorrow.
-
Sure Hasek embellished on the play a bit and sure I was pissed but after watching the replay he was CLEARLY elbowed to the head. Being called for embellishment didn't help things either. The are getting into his head and that's why he's not on his game. He needs to be more focused on protecting the net. That is his problem. We didn't lose the game because of him though. It was our attrocious PP and PK that cost us this one. ERGGGHHHH!!! It's so frustrating.
-
Although that would be very, very cool, I think you might frighten the Wings players as well.

It's the team all the way. The crowd does show more support during playoff time though for sure.
