Dude if I wasn't at work I'd be ROFL!!!!
-
I started my transformation back in December mainly due to the fact that my cholesterol was fairly high for a person my age. So by doctor's orders I've been maintaining a 30 minute a day workout every weekday since the middle of December. I've lost about 15 pounds. I can say that my eating habits aren't necessarily the best but I feel great. I started at 245ish and I'm pretty much holding around 230. At 6'-0", I was definitely not in great shape. My goal is to get down to about 205 so I have a ways to go. I've definitely gained muscle so the weight difference is a bit deceiving. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on this thread and participate as well.

C'mon SWF... You of all people should embrace your state heritage. We did purchase Louisiana from France.

Great win guys!!!

No idea about a downloadable stat DB but Hockeydb.com is the place to go and find them.

I don't know if he was the commentator that I watched when I watched the World Chamionships back in 1998 when I was visiting relatives in the Sievi area but I had a blast watching the Sweden-Finland final that year.
-
That was the first thought that I had in my head after reading the thread title. I was just going to offer my condolences.

What ever happened to the team revolt in December anyway??? It's good to see that he's enjoying his experience as Wings coach. Great win for the guys last night.

I think once UPN50 lost Red Wings coverage he finally called it quits for the last time. Rayzor must have tried to retire at least three times.

That was by far the best game that I've ever seen or probably ever will. I was in college at University of Detroit Mercy at the time. There were about 5 of us in the dorm room that night drinking a few beers expecting a great game. I can honestly say that I acted like a kid on Christmas the minute that McCarty took on Lemieux. I was jumping and screaming and laughing all at once. With all that happened in the past to the Wings previous to this game, it all culminated and came to an end in these three hours. Without this win and the retribution for the hit on Drapes the Wings would have almost assuredly lost in the playoffs again. All I can say is thank you Detroit Red Wings for making the past ten years the best of my life.

It's great to see so many who are over the hole booing Fedorov thing. It's stupid but I guess some people can't get over the fact that he left yet. I for one was also hppy that at least it was Fedorov that bit us in the end after a pretty loud booing session. It sucked that we lost nonetheless. So does Hitch really have it in for Sergei or what? Putting him in the 6th spot of the shootout.

Creepy but absolutely hilarious.

That leaves Flip out of the line-up. Most likely to give his ailments a rest. * Damn- Beat me to the punch.

Unfortunately, you have to be a member of RedWingsWorld.com to watch the live arena cam and it's not a camera like a video camera. It's a image capture type of setup. My brother is a member of RWW so I just logged into his account.

I saw Cleary but I was damned if I could find Bertuzzi out there. I was checking out the live ice cam on RWW. He may not have been out for long I guess.

True. I see your point. I don't think that it would be a bad move for the league to move a team or two though. Vegas seems like it might be a great place to start.
-
I was going to mention it but I figured that you'd rehash that fact anyway.

I personally think the idea of expansion has some merit. They would open up a huge market base in Vegas for one. The Seattle idea isn't so bad. They had a team there once before. I'd love to see a true eastern and western conference instead of the band-aid that they have now. Besides, I already have the name pegged for the Vegas team, the Las Vegas Aces.

It's a walleye not a carp. The Saginaw River is known as a prime walleye fishing spot in the state. We have the Walleye Fest and fishing competition every year. That tradition started in game 1 of the teams history in Saginaw if I'm not mistaken so it's nothing new. I hope I shed some light on your observation.

The new CBA won't allow GR to play him in any games so your out of luck. Sorry.

This guy reminds me most of Claude the Turtle. (Except that he wouldn't turtle for anyone). He does take a ton of cheap shots but he is the ultimate agitator. He's completely on the same level as a Sean Avery or Tie Dome. I don't completely understand the leaway he gets from the refs though. It's not like he's a seasoned veteran. The hit on Schnieder should have been a no-brainer call. That said; if he played a slightly cleaner type of checking game I'd love to see him in the winged wheel.

It seems to me like people either don't know or are ignoring that Nashville's fan base was in a sense "born" from the Wings fan base because of the transplants who moved down there in the late 80's and early 90's. So in a sense the tradition of the catfish down there was "born" from the octopus tradition not a "copy" of it. It's most definitely a compliment IMHO.

Just read the news myself. That's great for Pittsburgh. I really didn't want to see them go. Thanks KP for pointing out the other thread. I didn't see it in the first ten threads so I thought this was new news.

They have plenty of passionate fans at that.

I would never call what the Braves did a "joke" nor the Wings. It's nice to have a team that competes year in and year out. At least they have a chance pretty much every season to make the run for the Cup. If this team didn't make the playoffs consistantly then that may be a "joke".
