    Roenick?

Way to think out of the box a bit. I don't know what kind of salary he'd command but he's not a terrible player to pick up. It all depends on cost. He hasn't won a cup yet as far as I can think. The hunger and desire might be enough to push him to be a decent rental. Plus, the Cheilli connection could work in our favor.

    Buccigross Wisdom

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=2754999 At least we know that as Wings fans we have two of the best commentators in the league according to him. I agree with the idea of bringing in two more Canadian teams. I was sad to see the two that we had go away in the first place. I thought his reasoning for making the nets bigger wasn't too bad either.

    Buccigross Wisdom

Well for an American, Bucci is pretty much the only national writer that takes any notice to hockey. I respect him greatly for that. I'm not saying he's any better than your wonderful "Kanadian" writers TWW but you don't have to be so damn harsh. Since it's so annoying to TWW would a mod PLEASE remove my opinion of Bucci from the thread title. ... on the other note. I don't necessarily agree with making the nets bigger but I did see a point in his argument that it might help the casual fan to enjoy the game more. It's definitely cool to see that Detroit has the higest FSN ratings of all the teams. That may not hold much clout to the Leafs and Rangers though because I belive that they might be broadcast on different networks than FSN.

The Future of the Red and White

I missed it. I guess I need to read a little slower. Thanks for the update.

The Future of the Red and White

Once again, no love shown for Jan Mursak of the Saginaw Spirit. Although he's, cooled off a bit from the beginning of the season, he's still very talented at both ends of the ice and will one day, hopefully, be donning the winged wheel.

    Nagy a Wing ?

Zetterberg is more like the new Forsberg IMO. I think the price tag is just too much. Realistically, I don't think Hitch would keep him in the same division if a trade were to happen.

    Post Everytime You Look

Advice: Party but remember why you're there. I was on academic probation after two semesters. I wish I wouldn't have wasted all that money now that I'm paying for it. Have fun nonetheless!!
  11. Greg Brady of WDFN's exact words, "The Wings are very close to signing a pretty elite defenseman..." Brian Leetch is the only name in the list that could be considered "elite". (He's past his elite status IMO.) I hope it isn't him.
  12. Yeah, Brian Leetch is exactly who the Wings need.

    Post Everytime You Look

It's too bad that these posts don't count toward your overall post count. I'd have at least 5 from this thread alone.

This could get addictive I better stay away. This time of the year is extremely boring for sports isn't. I know the Tigers are doing awesome but man, no hockey news. (at least today)

    Shanahan seeking a 2-yr deal at $5M/season

Don't forget that Toronto is after him still too as well as the Avs I believe.

Eklund: Shanahan expected to sign 2 years/9.8 Million

I never looked but I had the feeling this wasn't necessarily the truth.

Eklund: Shanahan expected to sign 2 years/9.8 Million

Yeah, I read that earlier. We'll see what happens soon I'm guessing.

Thanks for getting my back Arice89. I'm guessing I spelled it wrong, eh.

    Shanahan seeking a 2-yr deal at $5M/season

FWIW... Matt Darry, WDFN, just got off the phone with Rick Curran. He stated the rumors that the Wings and Shanahan have reached an agreement are "absolutely eroneous". Curran did say that they were still in talks though.
