That's not too hard because I haven't watched it and don't plan on it. In fact I rarely watch NBC. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be much help in dropping the evening ratings. I do wish that I had an alternative to NBC on Tuesday night now.

I was watching the practice too. Conks probably took it easy on the kid but the kid definitely had some skills. He beat Conks really good about three or four times. A couple of times the Wings that were around him were suprised by the shots this kid was putting in.

If I get the chance to go to that one I'm definitely busting out the old "Screw Lemieux" t-shirt.

Hey Matt, Are you still going to be doing interviews up here in Saginaw on 100.5 or did they cancel that show with all the line-up changes too? I usually tune in for Wednesday mornings to hear but I forgot this week.

I knew it was you on TV. Too funny. I could tell you were all giddy at shoot-out time.

Support Chris Osgood (and the Detroit Red Wings)

Ozzie really hasn't been that bad honestly. The team in front of him IMO has definitely been haphazard at times. His record barring OTL's is stellar. The Wings are just now starting to emerge from the hangover period. From here on out the Wings should be at or near the top of the league. -
I just wanted to guage how many years everyone has been following the team. This does by any means suggest that the more you've watched the more you know about the Wings or hockey. Just a poll. Thanks for taking part.

I just started voting today and couldn't believe the obvious crap going on in the Eastern Conference. Hopefully the NHL is checking into this. I mean it's so blatantly obvious. I can't believe two Dallas players lead the Western forward vote-getting. It's just stupid.

I checked the SportsK site right away. I'm glad to hear that they are palnning on selling these. I can't wait to pick one up.

There were standing room only tickets left this morning.

Now I can't wait for sure. I just scored two tickets for opening night too!!

Tough call on the game situation. It should be do-able because the Lions stink it up anyway and should be over with within a few hours. The Palace is about an hour away from the city depending on traffic. Renaissance area is a good area. There's a lot to do within a mile and a half of that zone. Mainly casinos and eateries.

I bought my last one from Sports K as well. Great prices for authenic items.

Yeah, it would have been nice to see this yesterday since they were three blocks from my house. Oh well it was closed to the public anyway. I saw the highlights on tv.

Agreed. He played for the Wings at the end of his career for the most part but he was certainly a good defenseman in his day. He played most of his career with the Flames if I'm not totally mistaken and won a championship there. I wouldn't doubt that he was a bit of an influence to Nick's game.

I now know what I'm doing right after work...

You know, I didn't read this entire thread before watching the YouTube videos of the awards ceremony. I thought someone said "Lindstrom". When I saw the jersey spelled that way... WOW... what a total F-up. Those who say the league should have noticed this before the ceremony are dead on. The guy will go down as one of the top 3 defenseman of all-time and you still don't notice a glaring error like that. I guess some disgruntled Ray Bourque fan must have been the one putting the names on the jerseys for that night or something. YIKES!!

One word... Uwe!!!!

I'm not discounting your argument but there are flaws basing this on the photos. The timing that photos may have been taken could be totally different. Say the 1997 shot was taken, and it looks like it, after the parade was finished and people were making their way to Hart plaza. This being the first cup, many people made their way to the rally. The 2008 shot could have been taken an hour or two before the parade started. And it was, because there is still traffic going down Jefferson. The streets would have been closed if it was parade time. The estimated crowd at Hart Plaza was around 10,000 at 9:00am that morning. It looks like the shot may have been taken around that time. I bet you would see a similar photo if they were taken around the same time of the parade. Based on my own experience, it seemed that the crowd around me tripled or more between 8:00am and 11:00am.

I'm extremely happy he knows that it's time to hang 'em up. Thanks for all the great memories Dom.

I have to agree with those who are calling out the refs. This series was officiated horribly and, it seemed, with a ton of bias toward extending the series.

QFT. He was the one guy that worried me every single time he had the puck on his stick. That hat trick he had against us when he was with Atlanta told me that this guy had the Wings number.

What a great ending to a great season. Thanks for a place to vent frustrations and spout triumphs. What a great year!!!
