Red Wings practice facility in Denver?

Last I knew, there was one across the street from Kimball H.S. in Royal Oak. Not connected but definitely within walking distance.

    Avalanche injury status

I think Hannan returned and finished out the game because he had 18+ minutes of ice time for the game. No idea about the other two.

Stuart may miss start of Round 2

Why has Meech disappeared in everyone's mind all of the sudden? He was no pushover in the final two months of the season. I'm sure Lilja will get the nod anyway but I wouldn't mind seeing him out there.

2008 Photoshop War: Red Wings vs. Avalanche

No doubt!! That's always been one of my pet peeves with Chevy. I'd never buy either of them just because of the name.

2008 Photoshop War: Red Wings vs. Avalanche

Wow! I'm seriously out of the loop on cell phones. Thanks for the link to that site. It's on my phone now.
  6. Excellent message Echo. I for one hope someone hears the complaints although I doubt a fine will ever come of it and if it does Mr. Ilitch will pony up I'm sure.

What day does Rd. 2 start for the Wings?

I wouldn't think that there would be a whole week off between series'. Would there be?

    Justin Abdelkader

I believe Ellis is gone anyway. He was picked up off waivers earlier this season.

What day does Rd. 2 start for the Wings?

They're not even sure who they are playing yet so they haven't set the date yet. I believe the earliest date could be Thursday but it'll most likely be Saturday.

WQF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Predators 0

I didn't read through the entire thread but did it ever come out what was really wrong with Arnott. I'm betting on broken ribs from the celebration in game 3. Just curious if anyone was enlightened with the info.

    Joe Vision?

I was there for that too. Winning sure made the drive back to Saginaw after that a lot easier to take.

    Joe Vision?

Celebrating the Stanley Cup win at the Joe in 1998 was second only to being at the game.

    Opposing Playoff Goaltender

It's the trap again, not the goalie. We can't break the trap unless we establish a lead first and keep it. We need to be quicker.

Weird places you've worn the Winged Wheel.

Throughout most of Europe back in 1998. The only other place that I saw another Wings related item was in Munich of all places.

    Prevent Defense

I totally agree that the prevent defense shouldn't be used that early in the game. The one thing that bothered me more than that was after the 4th goal by the Preds we stopped making quick tape-to-tape passes. We just let up completely. They swarmed all over us. This is not the first time nor, I suspect, the last time I've seen this. Why didn't we become the desperate team at that point and forecheck the crap out of them to get the lead back? That give-up attitude drives me nuts. It's playoff time for crying out loud! Ditto on the post above.

    Hockey players that resemble entertainers

That's hilarious and a little creepy. Iginla and Tyson, I would've never pick up on that. There are really quite a few that you would at least mistake them for brothers.

    Your quirky playoff rituals?

I'm ROFL!!!!! The whole forbidden part just cracks me up! I have my rituals too but they didn't work out last season or any season since 2002 so I just don't know anymore. I have one of those red lights and I do a little victory dance after each goal. It's not pretty but it usually gets a laugh or two out of the family.

Maltby out; Abdelkader gets tryout contract

The kid looked great last night. I don't know if he's ready for Stanley Cup Playoff intensity though. McCarty will be in the lineup Sunday. He'll ultimately be on the playoff roster as well. It's not like he's hurt the team in any way being out there.

    Lidstrom skating among the greats

Definitely a good read... In another topic we were asked to choose our top 10 Wings of all time and I thought about it when someone put Lidstrom as number 2 on the list. IMO that was spot on. He was a mainstay on the ice during all the cup years. Yzerman was the leader but Lidstrom was the backbone of the team. You don't win a cup without either one but I think Lids was just as important, if not more important, to have in the line-up. Not that February's record was all due to Lidstrom being out of the lineup, but I think we saw a real difference without him there.

    Uniform advertisements start next season

Yeah. I read the story. I started to get really pissed off. I was even reading it in parts while I was taking calls at work and getting more and more pissed off each time I read. Then I was going to do a comment about how stupid the idea was. At that point it finally dawned on me that I was being duped. Right on Matt!!! I took that one hook, line, and sinker.
  21. For those of you who are familiar with Tom Glavine, the hockey phenom, here' s a great Q&A article about him. The best part is that he picks Detroit as the winner this year. I thought this was interesting: Oops here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=3317910

Tom Glavine wants his name on a Stanley Cup

I'm sure it was just a PR thing. He wouldn't want to bad talk Thrashers fans. The part I thought wasn't true is that hockey is a hard sport to watch on TV. I've never been on my knees beating my hands on the floor cheering on the Tigers. I love the Tigers and played organized baseball so don't think I'm biased but that statement just isn't true.

Tom Glavine wants his name on a Stanley Cup

My fault, out of sight out of mind I guess. I fixed the mistake. Besides, I really disliked him when he was a player so I never paid much attention to the correct spelling of his name and he was never a Wing so that didn't help his cause.

Tom Glavine wants his name on a Stanley Cup

It really sucks that he missed out playing on the same team as Gretzky. It sounds liek he would have been a pretty darn good hockey player had he gone the other route too.

    D Mac

Ditto here. Although my son has a Spring League hockey practice tonight so I really couldn't go anyway.
